Abstract

Hypertension has a fairly high prevalence in Indonesia. The World Health Organization (WHO) in 2015 showed that around 1.13 billion people in the world have hypertension. Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) in 2018 found that the prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia in respondents aged 18 years and above, was found to be 34.8%. The initial survey and based on the results of the Regional Performance Report of Tanah Datar Regency was obtained that 42% of the people of Pariangan District, suffering from hypertension disease, so hypertension education is needed to the people of Pariangan District, Tanah Datar Regency. Education related to the risk factors for hypertension and the management of antihypertensive drugs is a form of education in the form of counseling and the provision of leaflets. Counseling and the provision of leaflets about hypertension are carried out to increase public insight into the risk factors of hypertension and the management of the use of antihypertensive drugs, The purpose of this community service is to provide counseling and provide leaflets to the people of Pariangan District about hypertension disease, both to sufferers and those who do not. This method uses a pre and post test design, where before being given counseling and leaflets, especially for people with hypertension are asked as respondents, then fill out a questionnaire sheet as a pre test, then after being given counseling and leaflets, the community is asked to fill out the questionnaire again as a post test, then data analysis is carried out with a dependent t test. The results of the t dependent test with a p value < 0.05. In conclusion, counseling activities and the provision of leaflets about hypertension to hypertensive patients increase the level of knowledge of hypertension patients related to hypertension.

Abstract

Excision wounds are included in open wounds and occupy the top three types of injuries experienced by the public. Forest betel (Piper aduncum L) is one of the plants that can be used in healing excision wounds because it contains several chemical ingredients such as flavonoids, steroids and saponins which can help speed up wound healing. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of ointment extracts of forest betel leaves (Piper aduncum L.) on the healing of excision wounds in male albino rats. Animals are divided into 5 groups there are control group (base used of vaselinflavum ointment), group of forest betel leaf extract concentration 5%, 10%, 15% and the comparison group (Ointment T®). Basting of preparation was done twice a day for 21 days. The parameters observed were the percentage of wound healing, epithelialization time and histopathology. The results showed on the average percentage of excision wound healing on the 7th, 14th and 21st days were control group ( 43.046% , 84.118%, 92.866% ), concentration 5% (45.49%, 87 608%, 94.704%), concentration of 10% (46.196%, 88.24%, 96.692%), concentration of 15% (46.572%, 91.058%, 97.886%) and the comparison group (46.572%, 90.01%, 97.372%). the control group (8 days), 5% concentration (7 days), 10% concentration (6.8 days), 15% concentration (6.4 days) and the comparison group (6.6 days). For the histopathological test, the results of epithelialization, collagen fiber, and fibroblast scores were. respectively the control group (2,2,1), 5% concentration (2,2,2), 10% concentration (2,2,2), 15% concentration (3,3,3) and the comparison group (3 ,3,3). The most effective group for excision wound healing was the 15% concentration group.

Abstract

Reed root (Saccharum spontaneum L.) is thought to have very strong antioxidant and anti- inflammatory activity that can help the wound healing process. Burns are injuries caused by exposure to heat. This study aimed to determine the burn healing activity of the extract and fraction of reed root. Extraction and fractionation methods. A total of 18 male white mice were burned and treated using extracts and fractions at a concentration of 15% in the form of ointment, each 3 mice in 6 groups, namely 15% ethanol extract, 15% n-hexane fraction, 15% ethyl acetate fraction, 15% n- butanol fraction, positive control, and experimental comparison. The test parameters were the percentage of wound healing, epithelialization time, and histopathology. Visually the 15% n-Butanol fraction has the best anti-burn activity with the average percentage of wound healing on the 7th; 14th; and 21st days, respectively 66.24%; 88.48%; 99 ,98%; epithelialization time 14,33. Histopathology on day 21 showed dense collagen fiber density, complete epithelialization cells and many fibroblast cells. Calculations using the One-Way ANOVA SPSS 16.0 statistical test followed by Duncan's test stated (P<0.05) the 15% n-Butanol fraction group was significantly different from the 15% ethyl acetate fraction group, comparison, 15% ethanol extract, n-Hexane fraction 15 % and positive control. From these results, it was concluded that the 15% n-Butanol fraction had the best burn healing activity.
