Abstract

C.V Pinus Bag’s Specialist runs for manufacture, especially in making many kinds of bags. By keeping quality of the products, it is the key to reach the goal of the company. This company applies production system of make to order which the orders have different model, numbers, and uncertain time cause mental workload was often felt by the workers. Therefore, it is studied by analyzing mental workload. In the study of men-tal workload, it was used the measurement of workload subjectively by using NASA-Task Load Index (TLX) method. This method is very effective for content 6 indicators (mental demand, physical demand, temporal demand ,performance, efforts, and frustration de-mand) with 16 employees of the company as respondents. The result that is obtained in this study shows that the mental workload NASA-TLX which is accepted by the employ-yees have been in high condition of workload. This can be seen based on the average of Weight Workload (WWL) with scale category; low category (0-9) is no employee, average category (10-29) is no employee, pretty high category (30-49 is no employee, high cate-gory (50-79) is 13 (thirteen) employees, very high category is 3 (three) employees. There-fore, the company needs to care optimal rest schedule to decrease work risk and re design of tasks and workplace in ergonomic.

Abstract

“Buruh Gendong” women in Bringharjo market Yogyakarta, still carry loads on their back physically and use manual big basket and shawl. When they carry loads on their back unnaturally, their body postures are too hunchbacked, their heads are bent down and their arms are up-and-down, etc. The performance of the women is not so ergonomic that can makes them have injury. Therefore, it is important to evaluate how to minimize the risk of work accident. Ergonomic evaluation with physiology approach and Quick Exposure Check Method are the methods that can know how much the loads of the labor is and how many risk of injury by evaluating pulse and body posture when they work. Based on the research of “buruh gendong”, it can be obtained (1) load that was carried on back by the labor around 50 – 100 kgs. It means that the load is overstep than load limit suggested load limit around 10-16 kgs, (2) work load classification based on pulse is high work load, (3) means of energy needed by the labor is 5.15182 kcal/minutes that is overstep standard 4 kcal/minutes, (4) total score of observer is 162 and total score of worker evaluation is 26 are classified as action level 4 which evaluation observed and changed at that time. The conclusion of this research is that “buruh gendong” women working in Bringharjo market tends to have injury risk. Therefore, it is suggested to design ergonomic work system by considering characteristics of work, worker, material, and work management.

Abstract

The compony survive at this point is to create a good work system, from workers point of view, the demans of work and employment components of the existing system may causing many problems to be faced and it can lead to boredom at work. Each componenet to the work system towars level of stress faced by employees. The tools that used to determine the effect of the work system components towards work stress macroergonomics organizational work stress is macroergonomics organizational ques-tionnaire survey and path analysis. It can be seen that simultaneous effect of organi-zational condition employment conditions, physical environments, social enviroment, equipment and technology, and towards work stress experienced by employees amoun-ted to 0.820 and this proves that the influence af all work system components has been investigated is strongly affected the stress of work. While the partial effects of work system components to the stress of work are : organizational conditions amounted to 0,153, the working conditions are 0,166, the physical environment give 0,176 contri-bution, the social environment 0,066, equipment and thecnology amounted to 0,148, and the individual characteristic are to 0,111. So can conclude thet overally, the system components are significantly the work stress.

Abstract

The result from operator worked was influenced by various existing system. This condition is not quit from the condition of physical environment work around operator and indirectly influence result of human being performance / the operator. This condition will be happened at one particular work which is needing high concentration and yield optimal performance time. Therefore this research purposes and objectives is to analyse the influence between light, work shift and temperature either through individual and or simultan. This research is done in soundproof space so the operator can yielding the optimal output. Pursuant to result of analysis with factorial experiment, ANOVA, 3 factor, test T, Test F which have known that having influence to operator performance is light, temperature, and work shift either through individual and or simultan with mistake storey level : 5 % shown with f value (count) > F( tables). Result of this research depict about yielded ability storey; level by human being in working which is resulted by the existence of third factor which is treatment was tested.the three condition which has been tested give conclusion that yielding optimal in working is light 170 Lux.,Temperatur 30-32 0 C, and shift work morning.

Abstract

PT. Tambi Plantation Tanjungsari Production Unit is a company engaged in tea processing. The process of picking tea leaves is the beginning of the tea production process. Tea farmers work to collect tea leaves using cut scissors and collect in baskets made of woven bamboo. The results of the Nordic Body Map (NBM) show the use of old baskets can cause complaints Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). The purpose of this study is to calculate the total points of MSDs complaints when using old baskets, redesign new baskets, and compare the level of MSDs complaints when using old baskets and new baskets. Body mass index (BMI) is used to determine the nutritional level of workers and NBM is used to find out complaints felt by workers. A new basket redesign is based on anthropometric data with body dimensions measured including: hip width, shoulder height in a sitting position, chest thickness, and belly thickness. The results of the NBM calculations, the score received by workers is 600 points. The new basket of tea growers consists of two components: the frame and the container for the tea leaves. The frame component has a width of 31 cm, height 51 cm, length of the supporting container 34 cm, the distance between the place of the bearing and the supporting container is 10 cm, the distance of the bearing space is 5 cm, the distance of the shoulder strap is 5 cm. The components of the tea leaf container have a height of 53 cm, the length of the base side 33 cm x 33 cm, a diameter of 57 cm. Paired Sample T Test with a 95% confidence level, stated that there is a very significant difference in the total number of MSDs between using an old baskets and a new baskets.

Abstract

WL Alumunium is a company engaged in the manufacture of household appliances in the Yogyakarta Special Region. WL Aluminum produces various types of products, including pans, kettles, citel sticks and pans. The company has two work shifts, namely in the morning 07.00 - 11.30 and noon at 12.30 - 16.00 WIB. The majority of workers are male and the research is carried out specifically in the production section. In this study, 2 (two) methods were used, namely NASA-task load index (TLX) and descriptive analytic. The NASA-TLX method is used to calculate the workload and work stress felt by employees through the calculation of six indicators, namely physical needs, mental needs, performance, effort, stress levels and time requirements, and descriptive analysis is used to describe the subject and describe workload and work stress. that happened. The purpose of this method is to determine the workload and work stress of employees based on each work shift. The results of the study using NASA-TLX showed that the workload for both shifts was in the high category, namely between the score of 50-79, but for the work stress indicator it was the lowest level of the six NASA-TLX indicators, so that even though the workload in the current condition was high, workers could still survive with work activities because they are accustomed to existing work activities. Through descriptive analytic, it can be seen that the biggest workload felt by employees for each work shift is physical needs. It can be seen that employees aged 50 and over tire more quickly because the decrease in physical energy during work activities is faster than younger employees.
