Abstract

This research is intended to produce functionally graded material (FGM) of Hydroxyapatite (Hap)-silk fibroin by pulse electric current sintering in facing the need in biomaterial application. The sample is created with 4 layers with the thickness for each layer is 0,625 mm, so that the total samples thickness become 2.5mm, with diameter 15 mm. The carbon die is used to compact the sample. The composition of lower layer is 100% silk fibroin, after that 90% silk fibroin +10% Hap, third layer was 80% silk fibroin + 20%Hap, and 70% silk fibroin +30% Hap for the upper layer. The properties of the FGM product was characterized by optical microscope and scanning electron microscope (SEM), three point bend with single-edge beam fracture toughness test (KIC). The grade of the FGM material is proven by using electron probe micro analyzer (EPMA). The value of fracture toughness is 0.45 MPa.m1/2. The sample still can support the load after maximum load is reached. Optical micrograph and SEM, and result from EPMA indicate that the Hap-silk fibroin FGM can be produce perfectly by using the method that is introduced in this research. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Penelitian ini bertujuan memproduksi functionally graded material (FGM) dari hydroxyapatite (Hap)-serat sutra, melalui teknik pulse electric current sintering untuk memenuhi tantangan kebutuhan akan bahan jenis ini untuk digunakan dibidang biomaterial. Benda uji terdiri dari 4 lapis dengan ketebalan sama untuk tiap lapisnya sehingga tebal total menjadi 2.5 mm dengan diameter 15 mm. Komposisi lapisan paling bawah adalah 100% serat sutra, setelah itu 90% serat sutra + 10% Hap. Lapisan ketiga dengan komposisi 80% serat sutra + 20% Hap, dan 70% serat sutra + 30% Hap untuk lapisan paling atas. Perilaku produk FGM ini dikarakterisasikan dengan mikroskop optik, mikroskop electron, uji ketangguhan retak three point bend with single-edge. Gradasi (grade) dari FGM dibuktikan dengan electron probe micro analyzer (EPMA). Ketangguhan retak produk ini adalah 0.45 MPa.m1/2. Benda uji masih dapat menahan beban setelah beban maksimun tercapai. Hasil pengamatan dengan optikal mikroskop, elektron mikroskop, dan EPMA menunjukkan HAP-serat sutra FGM dapat dibuat dengan menggunakan cara yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini. Abstract

Pertanian dan peternakan merupakan mata pencaharian utama sebagaian besar masyarakat Desa Buahan, Kec. Payangan-Gianyar. Untuk dapat lebih mengoptimalkan potensi peternakan, di desa ini banyak terbentuk kelompok tani ternak salah satunya adalah Kelompok Tani Ternak Tulus Nadi di Banjar Gambih. Dalam perjalannnya, kegiatan peternakan yang dilakukan masih bersifat konvensional dengan mengandalkan ketersediaan pakan ternak yang masih sangat tergantung pada ketersediaan lahan. Padahal dengan sentuhan teknonogi biofermentasi limbah organik seperti jerami dapak dimanfaatkan untuk menghasilkan pakan ternak yang berkualitas. Untuk alasan tersebut telah dilakukan sosialisasi dan praktek langsung pemanfaatan limbah jerami sebagai pakan ternak dengan teknologi biofermentasi dengan melibatkan narasumber yang berkompeten di bidangnya, anggota Kelompok Tani Ternak Tulus Nadi dan masyarakat sekitar peternakan serta mahasiswa peserta KKN PPM XIX Desa Buahan. Dari kegiatan yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa; peternak sangat antusias mengikuti pelatihan, peternak mengetahui dan dapat membuat pakan ternak berkualitas dari limbah jerami dengan teknologi biofermentasi dan dapat pula memanfaatkan kotoran ternak menjadi pupuk yang lebih berkualitas dengan sentuhan biofermentasi. Pada akhirnya kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan produksi ternak dan produksi pupuk organic dengan sentuhan teknologi biofermentasi. Abstract

Buahan Village is located in Payangan District, Gianyar Regency, Bali Province with 975 Ha area, dividedinto 5 sub villages namely Buahan, Gambih, Jaang, Satung and Susut. This village has a cool climate(temperature 180C - 280C), rainfall and springs are very supportive as agricultural, farms and plantationsareas. For the potential development of the village, there are several conditions that need to be empowered /optimized such as: biogas potential, management of cattle manure and organic waste, livestock sanitation,early financial governance knowledge, organic and non-organic waste separation, early anticipation of drugabuse and healthy life behavior. Empowerment programs implemented include: Counseling and training ofanimal feed production from organic waste and making fertilizer from cattle manure with bio fermentationtechnology, maintenance training and utilization of biogas as an environmentally friendly energy source,counseling and implementation of cattle shedding healthy, financial education and literacy, education aboutdanger of narcotics, psychotropic and additive substance, environmental sanitation and afforestation, makingtemple plan, socialization of organic and non-organic waste management. Implementation of these programsgained a very positive response and felt the benefits by the people of Buahan Village.

Abstract

The Village of Kamasan at Klungkung in the Province of Bali is recognized as a centre of metal handicrafts,especially the handicraft made from brass. Many home industries for the brass handicraft are established in thisvillage. Recently due to Rapid progress of Tourism in Bali, The brass handicraft in Kamasan are growing wellbecause the demand for the souvenir. However some problem arise such as limited of variation, and surface qualityof the brass handicraft that tend to become blurred or dull due to the process of oxidation. This condition makethe brass handicrafts become not so interest as silver handicrafts that can shine for quite long time. To overcomethis problem it is needed to coating the surface of the brass handicrafts so that there will be no contact withoxygen. The coating will be more benefit if able to exhibit more interesting appearance, as what nickel coatingcan affect the appearance of the surface to become like silver but more clear. Equipment for nickel elektroplatingwas designed for this purpose and donated for this purpose. The unique of the equipment that was donated weresmall in size therefore only low electric power is needed, only 1 liter electrolyte was used and can be use manytime. The positive result is obtained for this activity where all participants able to operate the elektroplatingprocess with excellent result.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to provide an understanding and skills to the community through counseling, training, and demonstration, in order to have the ability to develop its potential in agriculture and tourism. Ped village is one of the 16 villages in the District of Nusa Penida, Klungkung Regency, which has a variety of potential in the agricultural sector such as plantation, livestock, fisheries, seaweed, and tourism. However, this potential has not been managed optimally, because they do not have skills in utilizing appropriate technology. To solve these problems some activities have been conducted through the implementation of KKN PPM program that includes training and counseling of health care of pigs, the production of animal feed with fermentation technology, organic fertilizer, biogas, and techniques of drying seaweed. Implementation of these activities involved 10 speakers as an instructor or coach who has expertise that appropriate with the topic of training. All programs can be well implemented because of the participation and enthusiasm of the people. In addition to providing training and counseling, also has contributed in the form of effective microbial materials for improving the quality of animal feed, making pigsty, making para- para, vaccinating cattle, and vitamin-B complex. The results of these activities were expected can improve community empowerment in the form of strengthen the management system of farming group, and increase the productivity of agricultural products.

Abstract

Untuk alasan kesehatan dan lingkungan, banyak limbah peternakan sekarang ini sudah diproses melalui digester anaerobic. Namun demikian biogas yang dihasilkan perlu untuk dimurnikan lebih lanjut. Salah satu pengotor yang banyak ditemukan dalam biogas adalah gas karbon dioksida (CO2) yang cukup rumit untuk dipisahkan dari biogas. Beberapa cara dan produk komersial yang ada sekarang ini cukup rumit dan memakan biaya yang besar. Untuk itu perlu dikembangkan cara yang sederhana untuk memurnikannya dengan biaya yang terjangkau sehingga dapat berupa teknologi tepat guna di masyarakat. Limbah kulit tiram dari Restoran makanan laut (seafood restorant) di sekitar Jimbaran, Bali dikumpulkan untuk selanjutnya dibakar sampai membara dan dijadikan kapur padam dan selanjutnya dibentuk menjadi pelet butiran kecil dan dikeraskan dengan cara dijemur sampai setengah kering dalam plastik transparan untuk mencegah reaksi dengan CO2 dari udara dan selanjutnya digunakan untuk memurnikan biogas dari pengotor Gas CO2 dalam biogas. Teknik yang dikembangkan di sini dapat berfungsi dengan baik untuk memurnikan biogas dari kandungan pengotor sampai pada level maksimum yaitu tidak mengandung karbon dioksida.

Abstract

The region of Melinggih in the sub district of Payangan, located at Gianyar regency in the province of Bali is supporting area for the tourist destination of Ubud and Sukawati. In this area, there are residing talented artist of fine arts, sculptor, dance and so called artist for ogoh-ogoh . Ogoh-ogoh is a local name for a created figure which will be carried together by group of peoples in celebration of Balinese new years. The creation method of ogoh-ogoh improve from time to time which is the important things is to obtain the good result and light to carry on. Recently the ogoh-ogoh is created by using styrofoam shaped by using knife. The price of styrofoam are expensive, easily broken, and easily burn therefore the ogoh-ogoh maker then explore how to make ogoh-ogoh by using pulp from paper or used newspaper. Abstract

Desa Cemadik, Kecamatan Tampaksiring di Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali merupakan desa Agraris dengan sebagian besar penduduknya bermata pencaharian sebagai petani dan peternak. Peternakan khusunya sapi dan babi banyak terdapat di daerah ini dan sangat potensial untuk dikembangkan sebagai sumber energi cadangan khusunya biogas yang diperoleh dari pengolahan limbah peternakan melalui digester anaerobic. Biogas sudah umum digunakan untuk memasak namun penggunaan biogas lebih lanjut untuk pembangkit listrik tenaga biogas perlu dikembangkan dan disebarluaskan. Hal ini disebabkan ketersediaan energI konvensional semakin langka yang menyebabkan harga listrik terus meningkat. Pengabdian ini bertujuan membangun pilot proyek pembangkit listrik tenaga biogas untuk memperkenalkan dan menyebarluaskan teknologi pembangkit listrik tenaga biogas skala rumah tangga yang terjangkau biayanya dan mudah teknologinya di Desa Cemadik, Kecamatan Tampaksiring, Gianyar, Bali. Selanjutnya kegiatan ini berhasil membuat pembangkit listrik tenaga biogas dengan kapasitas 1000 watt dengan berbahan bakar biogas dan sudah terpasang dengan baik dilengkapi dengan rumah genset.

Abstract

UD Mekar Sari and Bina Sejahtera group is facing a lot of problems to make their product, among others :1) Oven Processing use the rolling machine which is relative modestly with small capacity. 2)Packing productwhich is manually done l by hand and use the candle to gum the plastic packer. 3)Mixturing flavour is also stillmanual so that is less flatten. Planning and making two semi-automatically machine dry-frying in order to havemore amount and better results compared to the appliance use conventional machine. This was also giving theknowledge of appliance, working safety and operation of quality product. The Community service started fromtechnical scheme and appliance making machine, then activity in field executed at 09 November 2013 for therecognition of appliance demonstration and also working safety recognition. This activity was conducted in desaBaluk, kabupaten Jembrana attended by 16 competitive people from various participants, among others : groupmember of Bina Sejahtera, team of community service, students of Mechanical Enginering Departement ofUniversity Udayana, some members from local society.
