Abstract

Gastritis is disorder of health that appear caused by wrong food consumption pattern. Usually, gastritis was happen to whoses haven’t a food a regular food consumption pattern until excited production or mucous acid. This research is a descriptive study using cross-sectional design. The aim of the research was to know the description of food consumption pattern among gastritis patients. The sample is all gastritis patient was visiting puskesmas Kampar Kiri Hulu for December 2011-January 2012 amounting to 53 people. The result of research is showed 37,7% gastritis patient have a good quantity of food and 62,3% less food quantity. 17% gastritis patients where eat with right food wich be not increase gastritis and 83% not match, temporary that 28,3% gastritis patient eat with regular schedule and 71,7% unreguler. Seldom relapse frequency with good food quantity in average 24,2% and 75,8% often relapse 30%  gastritis patient increased seldom relapse with less food quantity and 70% gastritis patient increased often relapse. Gastritis patient eat right food with seldom relapse frequency 100% and for variety food which unright gastritis that seldom 31,8% and 68,3% often. For regular eat that schedule can increase seldom gastritis relapse is 100% where as fo unreguler eat schedule can increase seldom gastritis relapse 36,8% and 62,2% is often. It is suggested for public health to increase the healthy service given the information about a right food consumption pattern unreguler must to tose their bad habit it to decrease the suffer of gastritis and ensure for gastritis sufferer to eat gradually. Abstract

Diet given to patient lung tuberculosis is diet high calories high protein (HCHP). Diet high calories high protein given after diagnosis patient upheld. Diet high calories high protein was that contain energy and protein above the needs of the normal. Component nutrition of the major diet is energy, proteins, fat and carbohydrates. Component nutrition diet is very important to buttress healing process on the patient lung tuberculosis. The purpose of this study is food in the form diet High Calories High Protein (HCHP) patients treated in the Lung Tuberculosis Hospital Martha Friska Pulo Brayan. This research design is descriptive research account with design cross sectional of dietary by the department of nutrition Hospital Martha Friska Pulo Brayan. There was a 15 sample diet by the criteria High Calories High Protein I (HCHP I) diet. The research results showed that avaibility of nutritive substance, diet the content of energy, protein, fat and carbohydrates are not meet the standards on diet high colories high protein (HCHP). It is caused by the absence of standards, the portion standards recipes and standards of tool used. Energy requirement of 39%-67%, protein requirement of 39%-68%, fat requirement of 51%-80% and carbohydrate requirement of 25%-71% of standards. Abstract

Nutrition intake of worker is one of the important contributing factors in supporting of work produktivity. Fulfillment of nutrients will produce better work productivity. The aim of research to know description nutrient intake, nutritional status and work productivity of worker in the Palm Oil Mill Bagerpang Estate PT. PP. Lonsum 2013. This descriptive reaserch with samples of all worker in the produce  station and workshop station as many as 72 people.The data collected by interview using food recall forms,quetionnairesof work productivity and measure weight and height workers. Result of the research showed that 45.8% workers had energi adequacy levels on normal stage, with an average contribution of energy derived from carbohydrate 67.7%, 20.5% came from fat and 11% from protein. As many as 48,6% of workers had protein adequacy levels on normal stage. Meanwhile more than a half (95,8%) of workers had iron adequacy levels on less category. Nutritional status of workers based on BMI, half of workers (59,7%) had a normal nutritional status and 40,3% workers had nutrition status of over. More than half (69.4%) Bagerpang palm oil mill workers had work productivity on good level and 30.6% workers on enough level. Based on this research suggested to company’s Bagerpang palm oil mill PT. PP. Lonsum especially for health section to give direction or guidance to workers to improve their knowledge about nutrition and conduct nutritional status routine inspection. Abstract

It is noted highly rate population growth in Indonesia, to respond it, the government adoptthe Family Planning (KB) as a strategic program nationally since 1970. This program is referredmainly to those new and fertilized couples to have own arrange interval of birth. The family withmany children may influence the quality care and this is going to impact on nutritional status forunderfive children. The objective of this study is to determine the correlations of arrange timeinterval of birth and the caring pattern with the nutritional status of the underfive children in theterritory Tanjung Tiram Sub district Community Health Centers in Batu Bara District for 2013.This study adopted a descriptive method with cross sectional design. The population of thisresearch involved 4.883 underfive children. The data was gathered for November 2013 usingquestionnaire, interview them directly about their daily practicing in feeding the underfive childrenand how to care. About the sample, to take them in purposively and the sample was assessed inproportional allocation and choose them systematic random sampling, further the data wasanalyzed by using a distribution frequency table and total sample involved 94 underfive children.The result indicated that the interval of birth 2 years with nutritional status noted 14.3% iscategorized malnutrition, 85.7% is categorized less nutrition whereas with interval of birth > 2years noted 87.1% is normal. The caring pattern based on practiced meal feed more is notedmalnutrition category is noted 82.1% whereas caring health with moderate category is noted81.4%.By this research is suggested to the health worker keep improving public knowledge aboutthe KB program and encourage the mothers given counseling how to enrich nutritional status forunderfive children. Abstract

The elderly is seen as a group of people who are at risk of experiencing health problems with physical deterioration and often have problems in terms of eating. In fact, although the activity decreases with age, they still require a complete nutrient intake.  This study aims to determine the relationship of age, disease status, lifestyle, intake of energy and protein intake and nutritional status of the elderly in Aek Habil Health Center Sibolga. The study was a descriptive survey study with cross-sectional design. The population is elderly aged 55 years and older as 607 people. Determination of the sample using a sample size formula Isgianto (2009) obtained a sample of 83 people. Data collection age, disease status, lifestyle, intake of energy and protein intake using a questionnaire and a food recall form. While the nutritional status data obtained from anthropometric measurements.Univariate test results of research showed that 38.6% of elderly are in the age ≥ 65 years category. 60.2% of elderly disease status was not classified as either. Lifestyle elderly 67.5% classified as not good. Elderly energy intake 92.8% classified as deficit, as well as protein intake was 71.1% classified deficit. Nutritional status of the elderly 60.2% classified as normal. Bivariate test results showed that there was a significant association between illness status of the last 3 months, as well as the lifestyle of protein intake and nutritional status of elderly (p <0.05). While the data age, and energy intake did not show any significant relationship with nutritional status (p> 0.05). It is recommended to the Department of Health Sibolga to create policies to improve nutrition-related counseling of the elderly. Aek Habil Health Center Sibolga in order to provide knowledge and raise awareness about the importance of the elderly run lifestyle, healthy nutrition, to realize a good nutritional status of the elderly, increasing life expectancy, health care and elderly posyandu capable of being upgraded. Abstract

ABSTRACT Nutritional needs of primary school children was obtained from the main meal and snack food. Good food intake will affect the nutritional status of children, related to the immune system, the level of attendance, concentration and the ability to follow the lessons in the school so that the impact on learning achievement. This study aims to determine the pattern of snack consumption, nutritional status and student achievement in SDN 064 027 District of Medan Polonia. This study used a cross sectional design. The population is all fifth grade students aged 10-12 years SDN 064 027 District of Medan Polonia. Samples were taken as many as 103 students of class V aged 10-12 years with a total sampling technique. Primary data was collected by interviews using questionnaires, 24-hour food recall forms, food frequency form, measurement of weight and height. Secondary data were collected from the description of the school, attendance, report grades students. The results showed that the types of snacks consumed in a week with a daily frequency is soft drinks/bottled, frequency is often soft drinks/bottled and fried, frequency is a rare savory rice and fried rice, frequency is never guava. Energy consumption in the snack food category is not enough as big as 59.2%, protein snack food consumption in enough categories at 63.1%. Snack food in male respondents accounted for 19.0% energy and 13.5% protein from total consumption a day, the female respondents accounted for 17.9% of energy and 14.1% protein from the total consumption a day. Nutritional status by indicator IMT/U and TB/U is in normal category respectively 75.5% and 71.8%. Learning achievement in enough categories was 42.7%. It is recommended to the school in order to convey to the parents to pay attention to major food consumption in terms of quantity and diversity as well as choosing calorie-dense snack foods. The school is also expected to pay attention and control the types of snacks sold in the school in order to ensure safety, cleanliness, diversity. Abstract

Overnutrition is a unbalance condition between intake energy and output energy. Overnutrition known as overweight or obesity. According to the healthy research database (2013), prevalence of overnutriton in Indonesia increase from 2010 to 2013 that is 10 % become 13,5%. Result of research by Lestari in Medicine Faculty USU in 2012 showed 20,1% prevalence of overweight and obesity with the risk factor namely high supply of protein, fat an carbohydrate. This research is to know the risk factor caused overnutrution to student of public health faculty at USU. Conducted research using case control design. The aim of this research is to know relathionship among genetic, pattern of consumption, and physical activity with incidence of overnutrition. The sample for this study were 64 students of 2010-2012 years . 32 for case group and 32 for control group selected through purposive sampling technique. Univariate data namely age, sex, houselife, job of parents were analyzed descriptively and bivariate data namely genetic, pattern of consumption, and physical activity were analyzed using the chi square test with 95% CI. The data were collected by used food recall 24 hour form and physical activity form. The result of bivariate analysis showed relationship between genetic (p=0,005;OR=2,006), father’s nutrition status (p=0,019;OR=2,003), mother’s nutrition status (p = 0,001;OR=2,468),  protein supply (p = 0,009), fat supply (p = 0,042), carbohydrate supply (p = 0,010) and physical activity (p = 0,045;OR=7,154) with the incidence of overnutrition. And there is no relationship between frequency of eating with the incidence of overnutrition (p=0,157) It was recommended for the students doing physical activity routinely and consume healthfull food to decrease the incidence of overnutrition Keywords:       Risk Factor, overnutrition, public health

Abstract

In the pregnancy phase, a pregnant need food with content of different nutrients and a fulfill of nutrient that much bigger than before. One of problem that surface cause of undernutrition is energy chronic malnutrition which is recognized by size of upper arm circumference <23,5 cm that be found in Kabupaten Samosir Puskesmas Buhit work area. The purpose of this research is to find out diet of kind of food and food frequence, the number of energy and protein adequacy and the nutritional status of pregnant women in Puskesmas Buhit work area. This is a descriptive research with cross sectional design. Technic sampling in this research is simple random sampling. This research did on August 2014 located in Puskesmas Buhit work area, Kecamatan Pangururan with 74 of pregnant sample. This research takes the diet of kind of food and food frequence, the number of energy and protein adequacy and nutritional status data were analyzed by univariate to get the frequency distributions. The research shows that most of the nutritional status of pregnant women based on Upper Arm Circle did not have a high risk in Energy Chronic Malnutrition (>23,5 cm) is about 94,6%. Adequacy of energy in pregnant women shows 47,3% in medium category and adequacy of protein in pregnant women shows 45,9% in low category. It is required to pregnant women to pay attention her diet and give some information about nutrient, pregnancy and the influence of nutrient for pregnancy through health promotion that handle with health servant.   Keywords: diet, nutritional status, pregnant women

Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) incident become the main cause of children under 5 years of age mortality (59%) in developing or development countries. Children under 2 years of age period is critical period of health and golden period of brain development. This research purpose is to find out the correlation of nutritional status, exclusive breastfeeding, basic immunization status with Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) incident for children age 12 to 24 months in Glugur Darat Public Health Centre at Medan City. This research is observational analytic using case control design. Population is children age 12 to 24 months in Glugur Darat Public Health Centre work area. Sample is taken according the exclusion and inclusion criteria for 30 cases and 30 controls. Data analysis included univariate and bivariate analysis with using chi-square test considering Odds Ratio (OR). Bivariate analysis result with chi-square test show that there is correlation between nutritional status and Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) incident (p=0.045; OR =3,333), exclusive breastfeeding and Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) incident (p=0,032; OR=3,2386), basic immunization status and Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) incident (p=0,037; OR=3,763). It is recommended that the public health center to give implement education about health informations, especially to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers . For mothers is recommended to check frequently or period their children health and growth to posyandu/public health center. For society is recommended to keep environmental sanitation and reduce smoking at the home to prevent children from Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) incident.

Abstract

Until now this degenerate disease like Diabetes, Hipercholesterolemia, Gout has been the cause of death in the world. This pattern of food is the most important key to ensure the health, one of them is vegetarian. From a check was commited to 6 of 10 people for a non vegetarian is the level of cholesterol and uric acid are high. The purpose of this research was to tell the diversity of food, blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid between the vegans and non vegetarian in Maha Vihara Maitreya Cemara Asri District Percut Sei Tuan Deli Serdang 2014. The kind of this research is observational in the study of latitude (cross sectional study). The population is vegans and non vegetarian. And collecting samples of purposive sampling with the number of samples are 30 people each group. Gathering data was done in an interview with food frequency method and to check a blood sugar, cholesterol and uric acid. The research shows that there’s a difference diet, vegans and non vegetarian, the average blood sugar respondents, which is 98,3 (sd 5,8) and in the non vegetarian average blood sugar 144,2 (sd 51,3); the average levels of cholesterol respondents, which is 142,9 (sd 27,3) and on the non vegetarian average cholesterol 222,0 (sd 32,7); the average levels of uric acid respondents, which is 4,8 (sd 0,7) and in the non vegetarian, average urric acid 6,2 (sd 1,5). Suggested vegans to maintain a diet and exercise to stay stablelike of blood sugar, cholesterol and uric acid, and for non vegetarian is expected to increase food vegetable like vegetables and fruit instead of animal food, other than that to do exercise regularly to keep health and avoid disease and degenerative.
