Abstract

Condition Pandemic Covid-19 has forced the Indonesian citizen to stay at home. There are no exception for novice photographers who want to add their photography skills. Through e-Comdev, the team carried out a beginner photographer's capacity building assistance through the East Java level of online photography (SeFO) by utilizing WhatsApp social media to parse the problems faced with learning photography during the Covid-19 pandemic. The results of this mentoring show that SeFO participants still have a sense of innovation in improving the capacity of photography. Their skills are also increasingly well-honed in learning the basic photography skills, namely the composition, angle of view, and the explore of the types of photographs. The photo practice they have done is getting better in accordance with the basics of photographic theory. Guided by Tim and the material prepared well is helpful to the participants to understand the material well and feel the benefits of this mentoring more maximally

Abstract

Pada masa pandemik Covid-19, berdampak kepada semua sektor, termasuk dunia fotografi. Melalui e-Learning berbasis WhatsAPP, peningkatan kapasitas bagi masyarakat yang ingin meningkatkan skill fotografi telah dilakukan melalui Sekolah Fotografi Online (SeFO). Melalui metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan action e-learning, Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa implementasi Sekolah Fotografi Online melalui WhatsAPP grup mampu meningkatkan kapasitas dan kemahiran fotografi para peserta SeFO, skill dasar fotografi, khususnya dalam komposisi, angle of view, dan eksplore jenis-jenis foto juga semakin terasah. Para peserta juga merasakan bahwa mereka semakin baik dalam pengambilan foto sesuai dengan dasar-dasar teori fotografi. Peningkatan kemahiran skill fotografi ini karena mentor mampu menjelaskan dan memberikan ruang yang cukup untuk praktek kepada peserta, serta persiapan materi yang mudah difahami oleh para peserta SeFO.

Abstract

Education has been one of the most affected sectors since the corona pandemic. Like many countries affected, the Indonesian government has taken several precautions needed to reduce the spread of the virus. This causes obstacles in all educational activities, especially in the teaching and learning process. This article aims to illustrate assistance in redesigning learning model in this pandemic period by applying an online service-learning approach. The results show that educators are given many choices of online media that can be used for the teaching and learning processes, ranging from social media (WhatsApp and Facebook), learning management systems media (google classroom, Edmodo), and video conferencing (Zoom, google meet). In redesigning this learning model, educators mostly used WhatsApp as the main media in delivering the material in online classes, while the Google Classroom LMS media was used for managing the students' assignments
