Abstract

Science learning during COVID 19 pandemic had not been optimally implemented. This research aimed to discuss a new learning strategy, called science experimental accompanied by video tutorials as a distance learning innovation. A study literature method was used in this article. The experimental method was carried out in four stages, namely initial experiment, verification, concept application, and evaluation. This makes distance learning more effective and efficient. Students can develop thoughts, imaginations, and attitudes through exploration; foster interest and motivation to learn, and assisting in learning activities to achieve learning objectives without any limitations on distance and time. Demonstrations in this learning strategy can also be repeated and all students can understand the material.

Abstract

Research has been carried out on the development of instruments for science communication skills as part of 21st Century skills at the higher education level. The instrument was developed from indicators of communication skills, namely understanding the key ideas of other people's utterances and presenting or reading data in the form of tables or graphs. The development carried out with the Borg and Gall model produces valid and reliable instruments. The test subjects were 94 students who were selected by cluster sampling. The tests carried out included construct validation tests, empirical validation tests, and testing the use of instruments to measure science communication skills. The results of construct validation show that the instrument is considered very good and suitable for use. The results of empirical validation show that the instrument is valid and reliable so that it can be used. The trial results show that the instrument for the assessment of the results of this development can be used to measure science communication skills.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) produce an android application 'let's wash your hands' to teach body hygiene in science lesson content in elementary schools (2) determine the value of product feasibility. This type of research is research and development. This study uses a 4d model. This model consists of four steps; (1) define, (2) design, (3) development, and (4) disseminate. Product validation is calculated based on the results of expert assessments. The results of this research and development are (1) an android application with the topic of 'washing hands' (2) the media developed has a good feasibility value. Based on these findings, it shows that the 'let's wash your hands' android application is feasible to use in learning.

Abstract

Selama Pandemi COVID-19 berlangsung program PJJ (Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh) telah diputuskan oleh pemerintah. Hasil, kompetensi peserta didik mengalami penurunan sehingga menyebabkan kondisi kehilangan pembelajaran . Hasil analisis kebutuhan menunjukkan bahwa materi struktur fungsi tumbuhan dipandang sulit untuk diimplementasikan selama pandemi karena terbatasnya kegiatan tatap muka terutama penggunaan laboratorium menjadikan siswa hanya dapat mengamati morfologi, fisiologi, dan anatomi tumbuhan hanya melalui gambar dan video. Sastra juga menunjukkan bahwa ketertinggalan siswa dalam belajar bisa dikejar dengan bantuan teknologi. Oleh karena itu, pengembangan aplikasi media pembelajaran berbasis Augmented Realityperlu diterapkan untuk memudahkan guru dalam membantu mengejar ketertinggalan materi akibatkehilangan belajar . Penelitian ini menggunakan model Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) yang berisi 6 tahapan dalam pengembangannya yaitu: Concept , Design ,  Collecting Content Material , Assembly , Testing , dan Distribution . Hasil dari penelitian ini berupa pemanfaatan teknologi Augmented Reality dalam penerapan aplikasi pembelajaran “Plant Escape” pada materi struktur fungsi tumbuhan yang berperan sebagai media pembelajaran dalam mengatasi permasalahan learning loss .

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of the e-jigsaw learning model to improve student collaboration skills. This research is an educational development research which is adapted from the development model according to Borg & Gall. The instrument used in this research is a collaboration skills questionnaire. The skills assessment was carried out for first semester students where two classes came from a state university and one class came from a private university. The results of the development are e-jigsaw learning learning model products. From the results of the research and development stages that have been carried out, it can be concluded that the e-jigsaw learning model is effective for improving collaboration skills.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kota Yogyakarta memiliki beberapa daerah yang berada di kawasan bantaran sungai, salah satunya yaitu Ngadimulyo, Kelurahan Pakuncen, Kecamatan Wirobrajan. Ngadimulyo dipilih sebagai lokasi sasaran kegiatan karena berdasarkan hasil survei masih memiliki permasalahan yang kompleks dalam pengelolaan lingkungan serta permasalahan ekonomi. Padatnya pemukiman di wilayah ini mengancam kelestarian sungai serta hilangnya ruang terbuka hijau. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan adalah sebagai upaya untuk mendukung kelestarian sungai, mencegah terjadinya bencana banjir serta meningkatkan taraf ekonomi masyarakat melalui kegiatan-kegiatan yang memperhatikan keseimbangan ekologis. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dalam bentuk pelatihan, pendampingan kepada masyarakat serta pembentukan kampung sayur Ngadimulyo. Jumlah sasaran pengabdian yaitu masyarakat Ngadimulyo yang bermukim di sekitar bantaran sungai berjumlah 25 orang. Metode yang dilakukan yaitu dengan pendekatan ecobehavior yaitu bentuk integrasi ekologi dan paritispasi masyarakat. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pengelolaan sungai berbasis ecobehaviour mencapai 88%, dan peningkatan pengetahuan tentang kampung sayur serta teknik menanam setelah diadakan pelatihan mencapai 92%. Keberhasilan program, perlu komitmen dari semua pihak termasuk masyarakat, Kepala Dukuh serta akademisi dalam memberikan pendampingan berkelanjutan.Abstract: The city of Yogyakarta has several villages located on the riverbanks, one of which is the village of Ngadimulyo, Pakuncen Village, Wirobrajan District. Ngadimulyo was chosen as the target location for the activity because based on survey results it still has complex problems in environmental management and economic problems. The density of settlements in this area threatens the sustainability of the river and the loss of green open space. The purpose of this service activity is carried out as an effort to support the preservation of rivers, prevent floods and increase the economic level of the community through activities that pay attention to ecological balance. Service activities are carried out in the form of training, assistance to the community and the establishment of the Ngadimulyo vegetable village. The number of service targets, namely the Ngadimulyo people who live around the riverbanks, is 25 people. The method used is the ecobehavior approach, which is a form of ecological integration and community participation. The results of the service showed that the level of community knowledge about ecobehavior-based river management reached 88%, and increased knowledge about vegetable villages and planting techniques after training reached 92%. The success of the program requires commitment from all parties including the community, hamlet heads and academics in providing ongoing assistance.

Abstract

This study aims to review materials that are difficult for students to develop critical thinking skills, appropriate learning models to improve critical thinking skills, and effective learning approaches. In addition, it is necessary to review the development of teaching materials that integrate local wisdom and to improve critical thinking skills. The research strategy used is qualitative descriptive with a case study research strategy with purposive sampling techniques and using thematic analysis methods. This study shows the low critical thinking skills of junior high school students in science learning, especially in abstract materials such as temperature, heat, and expansion. The integration of local wisdom, such as the batik process, through interactive e-books equipped with videos, animations, and quizzes, as well as discovery learning models, can improve students' understanding and critical thinking skills in a contextual and engaging manner. This innovation is a solution to the challenges of learning science and developing student competencies.
