Abstract

Kata Kunci:Kesalahan, Persamaan Kuadrat Abstract:The purpose of this study is to find out the errors of the students and analyze the factors that cause students to mistake in solving quadratic equation material. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. This research is located at SMPN 2 Bangkinang Kota class IX even semester 2019/2020 school year. The subjects of the study were grade IX students at SMPN 2 Bangkinang Kota by taking a sample of 10 students. The technique of collecting data using the test and interview methods. The technique of collecting data using the test and interview methods. Based on the results of data analysis it can be concluded in solving the quadratic problem students make mistakes; (1) concept errors, (2) procedural errors, (3) operation errors. The contributing factor is the ability to understand students who are low in mastering concepts, so that mastery of the concept of material is needed based on factoring. The teacher waits not only to discuss the material presented but also to focus on supporting students' interests and motivation in learning mathematics. In addition, the teacher tries to use an interesting learning model that makes students think more actively and creatively in solving problems given to the problems. Keywords:Error, Quadratic Equation

Abstract

Research on cooperative learning strategies has been widely conducted; however, studies that specifically examine the effectiveness of the Think-Pair-Share strategy in teaching quadratic equations in senior high school mathematics remain limited. This study aims to analyze the effect of the effectiveness of the Think-Pair-Share instructional strategy on mathematics learning outcomes for the topic of quadratic equations among Grade X students at SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design, involving a sample of 102 students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire to measure the implementation of the Think-Pair-Share strategy and a multiple-choice objective test to measure mathematics learning outcomes. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and inferentially using normality tests, Pearson Product Moment correlation, and t-tests at a 5% significance level. The results show that the implementation of the Think-Pair-Share strategy was in the “good” to “very good” category, while students’ mathematics learning outcomes were in the “fair” to “good” category. Inferential analysis indicates a significant relationship between the Think-Pair-Share learning strategy and mathematics learning outcomes on quadratic equations. These findings reinforce cooperative learning theory, which emphasizes student activity and interaction, and confirm that the Think-Pair-Share strategy is effective for improving mathematics learning outcomes on quadratic equations at the senior high school level.

Abstract

Mathematics learning, particularly on the topic of Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV), still faces challenges in improving students’ understanding, so learning innovations are needed that are capable of integrating technology with collaborative activities. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of an e-module based on the Numbered Head Together (NHT) cooperative learning model in improving students’ understanding of SPLDV material. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, involving 60 students from two junior secondary school classes selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test instruments as well as questionnaires to assess students’ responses, and were then analyzed using descriptive statistics and the t-test. The results showed that the experimental group using the NHT-based e-module experienced a 32% increase in post-test scores, higher than the control group, which experienced a 15% increase. These findings contribute to the development of technology-based cooperative learning and expand understanding of the implementation of e-modules in mathematics learning. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of collaboration among students in improving mathematical understanding, and shows that the use of an NHT-based e-module can serve as a strategic alternative in learning SPLDV. The implications of this study include a theoretical contribution to the literature on technology-based learning and practical implications for curriculum development and teacher training.

Abstract

Consumer protection is an essential aspect of a fair and democratic legal system. However, low public awareness, limited access to information, and the increasing complexity of digital transactions remain major challenges in enforcing consumer rights. This community service program aims to improve public legal awareness and practical skills in protecting consumer rights through an integrated legal education approach. The program was implemented through interactive legal counseling, real-case simulations, and digital educational modules that participants could access independently. Participants included members of the community, e-commerce users, secondary school students, and vulnerable groups, including students with special needs. The results showed significant improvements in participants’ understanding of consumer rights and obligations, their ability to recognize unfair business practices, and their skills in preparing consumer complaints. The integration of local and international perspectives, particularly related to digital transactions, enhanced participants’ understanding of global consumer protection standards. Digital media also supported continuous learning and the development of a legally aware consumer community. The program demonstrates that participatory, inclusive, and practice-oriented legal education is effective in strengthening consumer protection in Indonesia.
