Abstract

Palm fronds resulting from the pruning process can be used as organic fertilizer and animal feed.Communities in Bengkalis Regency, especially in Pinggir District, are still constrained in the processing of palmmidrib to be used as animal feed, especially in the process of mixing or stirring. The purpose of this research is todesign and manufacture a horizontal type animal feed mixer machine and to test the performance of the machine.This research activity will later conduct machine performance trials at research partners and conduct training onthe use of machines and hand over machines to research partners to be utilized or used in the process of mixinganimal feed.

Abstract

Penelitian ini untuk  merancang dan membuat destilator alat destilasi minyak serai wangi dengan kapasitas 100 kg. Merancang destilator jenis ini menggunakan standar perancangan ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) dan membuat gambar desain dengan menggunaka software Autodesk Inventor versi 2017. Hasil penelitian didapatkan spesifikasi destilatortekanan internal perancangan 3 bar dan tekanan operasi 2 bar. Dengan dimensi destilator yaitu diameter 800 mm, tinggi 1200 mm. Material yang digunakan Stainlees steel 304 dan pipa Stainlees steel. Dengan volume tabung 454 kg, tekanan desain 65 psi dan temperature desain 352 oF. Metode destilasi yang akan digunakan ialah metode destilati uap langsung. Kata kunci: Destilator, destilasi, ASMEThis research is to design and manufacture a distillation device for citronella oil distillation with a capacity of 100 kg. Designing this type of distillator using ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) design standards and making design drawings using the 2017 version of Autodesk Inventor software. The dimensions of the distillator are 800 mm in diameter and 1200 mm in height. The material used is Stainlees steel 304 and Stainlees steel pipes. With a cylinder volume of 454 kg, a design pressure of 65 psi and a design temperature of 352 oF. Abstract

The agricultural sector in Bengkalis Regency continues to face challenges related to low land cultivation efficiency and inefficient irrigation water use, which negatively affect farm productivity and sustainability. This community service program aimed to support agricultural transformation toward food self-sufficiency through farmer group capacity building and the implementation of appropriate technology tailored to local needs. The program was conducted at three farmer groups in three locations: Deluk Village through the application of a mini tiller for land preparation, Mandau District through the implementation of a sprinkler irrigation system for vegetable crops, and Siak Kecil District through the application of a drip irrigation system for chili cultivation. The implementation method consisted of partner needs identification, appropriate technology design and fabrication, operational training, field assistance, and technology performance evaluation. The mini tiller was developed by the Mechanical Engineering team, while the Internet of Things–based irrigation system, defined as an automated irrigation system utilizing sensors and digital control, was designed and implemented by the Information Technology Engineering team. The results indicate improved land preparation efficiency, reduced irrigation water consumption, and enhanced farmers’ knowledge and skills in adopting modern agricultural technologies. This program demonstrates that interdisciplinary collaboration and context-based appropriate technology implementation are effective in supporting food self-sufficiency efforts in Bengkalis Regency.
