Abstract

Organic matter and inorganic fertilizer application are important to maintain the existence of potential microbes in the rhizosphere and maintain the soil quality. A greenhouse experiment has been carried out to determine the effect of  vermicompost and NPK fertilizer on total bacterial and Azotobacter  population in rhizosphere and yield of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) grown in soil order of  Inceptisols. The experimental design was a factorial randomized complete block design with three replicates were tested three doses of vermicompost (7.5, 15 and 22.5 t ha-1) and four doses of inorganic fertilizers; NPK (300; 450; 600 and 750 kg ha-1). The results showed that there was no significant interaction between vermicompost and NPK fertilizer on either total bacterial or Azotobacter population, as well as on fresh weight of lettuce. Both vermicompost and NPK fertilizer did not affect the biological parameters. However, the application of 750 kg/ha NPK fertilizer can increased lettuce weight up to 24% compared to that of control. This study suggested that in the relatively poor soil nutrients, lettuce growth was depend on inorganic fertilizers.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze Mehdi Hairi Yazdi’s contribution in responding to contemporary epistemological contestation through the idea of ‘ilm ḥuḍūrī. The main problem in modern epistemology lies in the relationship between the subject and object of knowledge, which tends to be dualistic in the Western epistemological tradition. Hairi Yazdi offers ‘ilm ḥuḍūrī as an alternative solution in modern epistemology. This research is a literature study using a qualitative method, and its data sources are from Mehdi Hairi Yazdi’s works and relevant research. The research findings show that Hairi Yazdi’s idea of ‘ilm ḥuḍūrī cannot only bridge the gap between rationalism and empiricism but provide a strong epistemological basis for the validity of mystical experiences. Furthermore, this idea offers a new perspective in studying Islamic philosophy. It contributes to the development of inclusive knowledge in facing the challenges of contemporary epistemology. Thus, this study emphasizes the importance of ‘ilm ḥuḍūrī as an alternative paradigm that enriches contemporary epistemological discourse.

Abstract

Psychological issues such as stress, anxiety, and depression are becoming more common in today's world. Many traditional therapies focus only on mental and emotional aspects, while often ignoring spiritual dimensions. In Islam, the concept of Tazkiyatun Nafs by Imam Al-Ghazali emphasizes the purification of the soul to help individuals control desires and improve their character. At the same time, the Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) is known as a spiritual-based therapy that helps reduce emotional problems. This study aims to create a more comprehensive healing model by integrating the Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) with the concept of Tazkiyatun Nafs. It explores how this combination may reduce psychological symptoms. The findings are expected to serve as a theoretical foundation for the future development of intervention models aligned with Islamic psychotherapy approaches. The method used is library research, where relevant books and sources are analyzed. A descriptive-comparative approach is used to compare the key ideas between SEFT and Tazkiyatun Nafs, and to explore their connections. The results suggest that this integration provides a helpful and balanced approach. SEFT works through prayer and tapping techniques, while Tazkiyatun Nafs offers spiritual stages such as self-cleansing (takhalli), self-development (tahalli), and self-realization (tajalli). Core values such as sincerity, mindfulness, surrender, and gratitude support this process, helping individuals heal emotionally and grow spiritually.
