Abstract

Research on aluminum metal matrix composites reinforced with ceramics using powder metallurgy methods has recently been increasingly in demand to be developed. The goals of this study determined the effect of differences in compaction pressure on the density and hardness properties of the resulting composite. The research method used of is following the stages of the powder metallurgy process, which includes material preparation, mixing and compaction. The mixing of the composite constituent powders was carried out using the mechanical alloying method using a horizontal ball mill for 4 hours. While the hot compaction method used is two-way compression compaction, using a hydraulic pump. The matrix material used is recycled aluminum powder, and the reinforcing material is powder from tin mine tailing silica sand. The hot compaction process was carried out at 500 0C and held for 15 minutes. Two-way compacting pressure variations used 4400 Psi, 4500 Psi and 4600 Psi. Density testing refers to Archimedes with the ASTM B962-15 standard. Meanwhile, the hardness test used the Rockwell hardness testing machine, referring to the ASTM E18-15 standard. The results of the density test and hardness test showed a tendency for the value to increase with increasing compaction pressure applied. The highest density was 2.147 g/cm3 for a sample with a compaction of 4,600 Psi, with the highest hardness value being 53,11 HRB. Based on micro-photographs, it shows that the interlocking mechanical bonds at lower compaction pressures tend to be weak, fractures at the grain boundaries are clearly visible and the pattern of damage tends to show brittle/brittle fractures.

Abstract

Saat ini penggunaan bahan asbes memicu kematian global mencapai 225.000 jiwa per tahun. Untuk saat ini kampas rem non-asbestos sudah di kembangkan dari tahun 2000-an. Kampas rem adalah komponen kendaraan bermotor yang berguna untuk memperlambat dan menghentikan laju kendaraan. Matrik pada penelitian ini digunakan serbuk aluminium yang mempunyai ukuran Particle Size Analyzer yaitu D50: 171.37 µm. perbandingan 93% Al dan 7% (AL2O3,RHA,BA), 90% Al dan 10% (AL2O3,RHA,BA), 87% Al dan 13% (AL2O3, RHA, BA) dengan berat setiap sampel adalah 35-40 gram. Dan penguat yang di gunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu alumina hybrid, abu sekam padi (RHA) dan abu ampas tebu (BA).Sampel yang di lakukan penelitian berbentuk sebuah cincin yang mempunyai diameter dalam 20 mm dan untuk diameter luarnya yaitu 50 mm,  dan di cetak sebanyak 27 sampel dari hasil perhitungan full factorial dengan 2 faktor dan 3 level, dengan faktor presetase untuk penguat yaitu 3 level , ( 7%, 10%, 13% ) dan di ikutin dengan tekenan kompaksi sebesar 6000 Psi. Nilai uji kekerasan dan densitas terendah yang di dapatkan pada tekanan kompaksi panas sebesar 6000 Psi dengan presentase penguat 7%, 10%, 13% yakni 1,760 g/cm3 dan 46,33 HB. Dan untuk Nilai uji kekerasan dan densitas tertinggi yang di dapatkan pada tekanan kompaksi panas sebesar 6000 Psi dengan presentase penguat 7%, 10%, 13% yakni 2,065 g/cm3 dan 72,66 HB.

Abstract

Teknologi material komponen kampas rem pada industri otomotif terus berkembang pesat akhir-akhir ini. Sementara itu, kampas rem mengandung asbestos sangat berbahaya bagi kesehatan serta tidak ramah lingkungan, karena terdapat zat Carsinogenik. Apabila partikel hasil gesekan kampas rem tersebut beterbangan dan terhirup oleh manusia maka sangat berakibat fatal. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan alternatif baru untuk memenuhi kebutuhan material sebagai pengganti asbestos tersebut seperti komposit matriks aluminium. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi tekanan kompaksi dan suhu sintering terhadap densitas serta kekerasan AMC diperkuat BA dan Al2O3. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu metode metalurgi serbuk yang terdiri dari  tahap persiapan, mixing, kompaksi, dan sintering. Proses pencampuran ini menggunakan mesin ball mill dengan parameter rasio bola 10:1 dan waktu pengadukan selama 2 jam serta dengan kecepatan putar 90 rpm. Pada proses kompaksi dilakukan dengan penekanan dua arah manggunakan mesin press hidrolik yang terdapat alat pengukur tekanan. Parameter yang digunakan pada proses kompaksi yaitu 5600, 6000, 6400 Psi dengan waktu tahan selama 15 menit. Sedangkan parameter pada proses sintering yaitu dengan suhu 550, 580, 610 oC dengan waktu tahan selama 10 menit. Pengujian densitas dilakukan dengan berpedoman pada hukum Archimedes dengan ASTMB962-17mendapatkan hasil dengan nilai tertinggi 1,59 gr/mm3, Sedangkan pengujian kekerasan dilakukan dengan berpedoman pada uji kekerasan Brinell Portable dengan ASTM E110-14 mendapatkan hasil tertinggi dinilai 42,76 HRB, nilai tertinggi tersebur terdapat pada tekanan kompaksi 6400 Psi. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi tekanan maka semakin tinggi nilai kekerasan dan densitas sampel

Abstract

Tin mining tailings consist of 80-90% sand and the rest mud.  The high levels of Silicon Dioxide (SiO2) in these tailings are hard and can be used as an added material in the manufacture of composites.  This research aims to study the physical and mechanical properties of metal matrix composites reinforced with SiO2 powder processed by powder metallurgy, as an effort to provide a replacement material for Non-Asbestos (NOB) motorbike brake linings.  The impact of hot compaction pressure in the form of two pressing directions, including 4600, 4500 and 4400 Psi, with a pressing hold of 15 minutes and sintering which includes 30, 20 and 10 minutes, at a temperature of 600 ºC was studied for its effect on hardness and density.  Mechanical blending was used with a horizontal ball mill in the ratio of 10:1 at a speed of 90 rpm for 4 hours.  The test results showed that the greater the hot compaction pressure and the longer the sintering, the higher the hardness and density values.  The highest hardness reached 81.7 HB and the highest density of 2.385 g/cm3 occurred at a bidirectional hot compaction pressure of 4600 Psi, with the lowest wear rate of 0.333 mm3/m. This occurs as a result of the increase in hot compaction has an impact on increasing the contact between powder particles resulting from mechanical alloying to be tighter as a result of which the cavity and porosity decrease

Abstract

Osteoarthritis lutut paling sering dijumpai pada penyakit musculoskeletal dan merupakan salah satu penyakit yang disebabkan oleh faktor degeneratif. Osteoarthritis lutut adalah penyebab terbanyak keterbatasan gerak dan fungsi. Seseorang dengan Osteoarthritis lutut pada umumnya mengeluh adanya nyeri, kekakuan dan keterbatasan fungsi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Knee Osteoarthritis Exercise Therapy (Terapi Latihan Osteoarthritis Lutut) Terhadap Penurunan Nyeri Sendi Lutut Pada Lansia. Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pre eksperimental (one group pre test – post test), penelitian dilaksanakan pada 16 Mei – 06 Juli 2024 di Posyandu Lansia Desa Simo Tulungagung, populasi berjumlah 39 lansia dengan tehnik purposive sampling, didapatkan sampel 32 responden. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara pengukuran intensitas nyeri sebelum dan sesudah diberi perlakuan menggunakan lembar observasi dengan skala numeric. Data dioalah dengan cara editing, coding, scoring, tabulating dan di analisis dengan uji statistik Wilcoxon Signed Rank T-test. Hasil penelitian uji statistik Wilcoxon Signed Rank T-test, didapatkan nilai p = 0,000. Dengan nilai taraf signifikan α = 0,05 yang artinya ada pengaruh Knee Osteoarthritis Exercise Therapy (Terapi Latihan Osteoarthritis Lutut) Terhadap   Penurunan Nyeri Sendi Lutut Pada Lansia. Kesimpulan dari penelitian bahwa Knee Osteoarthritis Exercise Therapy (Terapi Latihan Osteoarthritis Lutut) dilakukan dengan rutin dapat menurunkan intensitas nyeri. Rekomendasi bagi tenaga kesehatan dan Puskesmas diharapkan lebih meningkatkan sarana kesehatan terutama untuk para lansia dengan nyeri sendi.   Abstract   Knee Osteoarthritis is most common in musculoskeletal disease and is one of the diseases caused by degenerative factors. Knee Osteoarthritis is causes the most limitations of motion and function. Someone with Knee Osteoarthritis generally complains of pain, stiffness and function limitations. The purpose of this study to determine the effect of Knee Osteoarthritis Exercise Therapy on the reduction of knee joint pain in elderly. Research design used is experimental pre (one group pre test – post test), research carried out on 16 Mei – 06 July 2024 in elderly “Integrated Health Service Post” at Simo village, Tulungagung, Population amounted to 39 elderly with purposive sampling technique, got sample 32 respondents. Data were collected by measuring the intensity of pain before and after being treated using on observation sheet with numerical scale. Data processed by way of editing, coding, scoring, tabulating and in the analysis with statistical test Wilcoxon Signed Rank T-Test. Result of statistical test Wilcoxon Signed Rank T-Test got value p =0,000. With a significant level of significance α = 0,05, which means there is influence of Knee Osteoarthritis Exercise Therapy to decrease knee joint pain in elderly. Conclusions from the study that Knee Osteoarthritis Exercise Therapy done routinely can reduce the intensity of pain in patients with knee osteoarthritis. Recommendations for health personnel and “Community Health Centers” are expected to further improve health facilities especially for elderly people with joint pain.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the optimal parameters in the CNC Milling process to produce low surface roughness and improve the quality of brake pad molds. By applying the Taguchi method, the results showed that the process parameters have a significant effect on surface roughness. Data analysis revealed that increasing feed speed and depth were positively correlated with surface roughness. Of the parameters tested, feed speed had the largest contribution of 40.46%, followed by feed depth of 14.01%, and spindle speed of 12.36%. The optimal parameter combination proposed to achieve the best surface roughness is a feed speed of 100 mm/min, a feed depth of 0.2 millimeters, and a spindle rotation of 3343 RPM. These findings provide an important contribution to the automotive industry to improve the efficiency and quality of brake pad production, a component that plays a crucial role in vehicle safety.

Abstract

Covid-19 tidak hanya berdampak pada kesehatan tapi juga pada perekomian khususnya ekonomi keluarga, merumahkan beberapa pekerja yang notabenya adalah kepala keluarga yang disebabkan oleh kebijakan pemerintah maupun kondisi perusahaan yang tidak baik menyebabkan turunnya penghasilan keluarga sehingga sulit untuk memenuhi kebutuhan sehari-hari. Dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan terseebut tidak hanya peran kepala keluarga yang dibutuhkan namun peran ibu rumah tangga juga sangat penting, ibu rumah tangga dapat membantu kepala keluarga mencari penghasilan tambahan, tugas ibu rumah tangga seperti memasak dapat menjadi salah satu sumber penghasilan tambahan keluarga. Ibu rumah tangga yang aktif mencari tambahan penghasilan namun tetap menjalankan perannya di rumah dikenal dengan istilah Mompreneur. Pembinaan mengenai pengembangan ekonomi keluarga berbasis mompreneur akan meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu rumah tangga mengenai aktivitas yang dapat dilakukan untuk menambah penghasilan keluarga dengan memanfaatkan tugas ibu rumah tangga yang biasa dilakukan.

Abstract

This study aims to recondition the vertical movement system of the Precision Universal and Tool & Cutter Grinder Jungner US-350 to restore the optimal functionality of the vertical head. The machine experienced failures in the threaded bushing, timing belt, and flat belt, affecting the cutting tool grinding process. The research applied an experimental approach, including data collection through technician interviews, visual inspection, and machine manual review, fault identification using the 5 Whys method, and repair or replacement of critical components according to technical specifications. Functional testing demonstrated smooth vertical movement, stable timing and flat belt operation, and machine performance meeting precision standards. The study shows that structured reconditioning is an effective solution for restoring the functionality of aging precision machines with limited spare parts, while providing practical guidance for maintenance and care of similar machines.

Abstract

The development of polymer composite materials using natural fibers as a reinforcing medium is something that is necessary because it has many advantages. The study aimed to find out the values of tensile strength, modulus elasticity and optimum bending strength against fiber lengths of 60 mm, 80 mm, 100 mm and volume fractions of 5%, 10% and 15%. The highest tensile voltage is found at a fiber length of 100 mm with a fiber volume fraction of 15% which is 31.3 MPa,while the modulus elasticity of the highest tensile strength is found at a fiber length of 100 mm with a 15% seat volume fraction of 7150 Mpa. For the highest bending strength is found at a fiber length of 100 mm with a fiber volume fraction of 15% which is 66.8 MPa. And modulus values of strong elasticity bending with a fiber length of 100 mm with a fiber volume fraction of 15% 11500 MPa.

Abstract

Pineapple leaf fiber is one of the plantation wastes that is rarely processed and has a low selling value, Therefore, pineapple leaf fiber is used as a reinforcement for composite materials with an epoxy as a matrix and 16% filler material in the form of Hollow Glass Microsphere which is expected to produce renewable materials that can increase the selling value of the waste.. This study aims to determine how the effect of composite composition on tensile strength and impact of several parameters used. The testing process carried out is tensile test and charpy impact test with matrix and fiber volume fractions, namely, 74%:10%, 12.5%:71.5%  and 15%:69%  with horizontal and vertical fiber directions. Based on this study, specimens with a fiber fraction thickness of 15% with a vertical direction resulted in an average tensile strength of 84.83 MPa and the highest average impact strength was obtained in specimens with the same parameters is 0.1367 J/mm².
