Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) Mengidentifikasi sertifikasi keahlian yang diikuti guru; (2) Menganalisis dampak sertifikasi keahlian; (3) Mengidentifikasi sertifikasi keahlian yang diinginkan guru; (4) Mengidentifikasi kendala dalam sertifikasi keahlian. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian survey. Populasi penelitian adalah guru paket keahlian Teknik Kendaraan Ringan (TKR) di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, sampel ditentukan melalui teknik sampling purposive. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar kuesioner dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan statistik diskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, (1) Terdapat 7 jenis sertifikasi yang diikuti guru; (2) Sertifikasi bidang keahlian memberikan dampak yang positif bagi guru baik dari sisi peningkatan karir, kompetensi dan motivasi untuk mengembangkan diri;  (3) Sertifikasi bidang keahlian yang diinginkan guru yaitu terkait teknologi terkini di kendaraan dan yang paling diinginkan adalah tune up Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI); (4) Kendala paling tinggi yang dihadapi guru dalam sertifikasi bidang keahlian yaitu keterbatasan dana untuk sertifikasi dan kesibukan guru di sekolah.ABSTRACTThis study aims to, (1) Identify the expertise certification program that are followed by teachers; (2) Analyze the impact of expertise certification program; (3) Identify the expertise certification program that is desired by teachers; (4) Identify the obstruction in expertise certification program. This study used a survey research approach. The study population were  teacher of lightweight vehicle engineering (TKR) of vocational school in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, the sample was determined by purposive sampling technique. Data were collected by questionnaire and documentation sheets. Data analyzed by the descriptive statistics. The results showed, (1) There were 7 types of certification that were followed by teachers; (2) Certification of expertise has a positive impact on teachers both in terms of career advancement, competence and motivation to develop themselves; (3) Expertise certification program  that teachers desired is related to the latest technology in vehicles and the most desirable is the Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) tune up; (4) The highest obstruction faced by teachers in the expertise certification program are the limited funding for certification and the busyness of teachers in schools.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis reserach aims at accelerating the mastery of teaching skills by involving the students as supervisor on Micro Teaching course. This reserach can be catagorized as action research with Kurt Lewin Model which consisted of four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The reserach subject was the students of Automotive Engineering Education Faculty of Engineering Yogyakarta State University who joined Micro Teaching corse in the academic year of 2010/ 2011. This reserach was conducted on April to May 2011. The reserach instruments were using observation sheet and evaluation sheet for learning process. The actions were catagorized successful if at least 65% of the students of Micro Teaching course obtained the score of 81 or more before the final week of the course. Data analysis technique was using comparative-quantitaive technique. The result showed that 1) by triggering the students to be a supervisor, the students became aware of teacher role that made their teaching performance better. The students obtained better score where the score of 81 or more (66.6%) than last semester (55.5%), 2) The interval to obatain target score can be accomplished faster than the last semester, 3) There were also other positive effects of giving the role of supervisor for the students, i.e. trained the students to give opinion (verbal). The students become accustomed to speak fluently, as required for being teacher.    Keywords: teaching skills, students role, supervisorABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui apakah dengan melibatkan maha-siswa peserta kuliah Pengajaran Mikro secara aktif sebagai supervisor dapat mempercepat penguasaan keterampilan mengajar bagi mahasiswa peserta kuliah Pengajaran Mikro. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas model Kurt Lewin, yang meliputi empat tahap, yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Otomotif  Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta peserta Pengajaran Mikro Tahun Akademik 2010/2011. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April dan Mei 2011. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa Lembar Observasi dan Lembar Evaluasi proses pembelajaran. Tindakan yang dilakukan dikategorikan berhasil apabila sekurang-kurangnya 65% mahasiswa peserta kuliah Pengajaran Mikro memperoleh nilai 81 atau lebih, yang dicapai sebelum minggu terakhir perkuliahan di semester genap 2010/2011. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik komparatif-kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) Dengan mengaktifkan mahasiswa untuk ikut menjadi supervisor, menjadikan mahasiswa tahu apa yang harus dilakukan pada saat mahasiswa tersebut melaksanakan praktik mengajar, sehingga kemampuan mengajarnya menjadi lebih cepat meningkat dan men-jadi lebih baik. Nilai yang diperoleh mahasiswa juga menjadi lebih baik, dalam arti mahasiswa yang memperoleh nilai bagus meningkat jumlahnya. Mahasiswa yang memperoleh nilai 81 atau lebih, sebesar 66,6%, sedangkan pada semester yang sama tahun sebelumnya sebesar 55,5%. 2) Waktu yang diperlukan untuk mencapai target nilai yang ditetapkan, dapat ditempuh dengan waktu yang lebih cepat, yaitu sekitar dua minggu lebih cepat dibandingkan dengan semester genap tahun sebelumnya. 3) Dengan melibatkan mahasiswa sebagai supervisor diperoleh pula manfaat yang lain, yaitu mahasiswa berlatih mengeluarkan pendapat dengan cara lisan (berbicara). Ini mempunyai efek, mahasiswa menjadi terbiasa untuk berbicara, sehingga bicaranya lancar, sesuai yang dibutuhkan oleh seorang guru.Kata kunci: keterampilan mengajar, peran mahasiswa, supervisi

Abstract

The objectives of the study were (1) to determine specific teachers’ pedagogical competencies for practices learning; (2) to assess the teachers’ professional competencies (3) to assess the teachers’ commitment; and (4) to analyse the relationship between the commitment and the pedagogical and professional competencies of Light Vehicle Engineering teachers at SMK in Sleman regency. The data was obtained using questionnaires and observation sheets. The data was analysed using descriptive statistics in precentages with qualitative descriptive explanation. The results of this study show: (1) The mean scores of pedagogical competencies for the preparation and the learning process were 83.58 and 80 respectively (2) The mean score of professional competencies was 2.459, while the scores higher and lower than the mean score were 75% and 25% respectively (3) the mean score of teachers’s commitment was 79.1 while the scores higher and lower than the mean score were 58% and 42% respectively (4) The relationship between the teachers’ commitment with the ability to organise lesson plans, the learning process and the professional competencies were 33.3%, 16.7%, and 41.2% respectively.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were: (1) to analyse the causes underlying the students’ learning difficulties, (2) to identify the main learning difficulties encountered by the students, (3) to determine the most problematic topic in the course of Statics and Strength of Materials for the students (4) to assess the students’ efforts to overcome the learning difficulties. This study was ex-post facto with a descriptive-quantitative approach. The population comprised  140 students of the study program of Automotive Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta Stae University. The samples were 35 students selected using purposive random sampling. The data was analysed using the descriptive technique in the form of percentages. The results showed in the course of  Statics and Strength of Materials: (1) the causes underlying the students learning difficulties was excessive sleepiness during the learning process, (2) the most widely encountered learning difficulty was poor understanding of the basic concepts, (3) the most problematic topic area is calculating torsion ( torque, torsional moment of detention, torsional stress, angle of twist) and (4) the students’ effort to overcome the learning difficulties was reviewing the Physics materials related to the subject.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) Mengidentifikasi pelatihan keahlian yang diikuti guru; (2) Menganalisis dampak pelatihan; (4) Mengetahui pelatihan yang diinginkan guru; (5) Mengidentifikasi kendala dalam pelatihan keahlian. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian survey. Populasi penelitian adalah guru paket keahlian TKR di DIY, sampel ditentukan dengan teknik sampling purposive. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar kuesioner dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan statistik diskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, (1) Terdapat 12 jenis pelatihan yang diikuti guru; (2) Dampak pelatihan masuk dalam kategori sangat baik; (3) Pelatihan yang paling diinginkan guru adalah pelatihan Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI); (4) Kendala dalam pelatihan bidang keahlian keduanya masuk dalam kategori rendahKata Kunci: Pelatihan, Dampak, Kompetensi Profesional

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) the effect of student competence on the motivation of students of class XI in the Department of Light Vehicle Engineering Vocational Schools in Bantul Regency, and (2) the influence of the participation of BKK on motivation to work in automotive in class XI students of the Department of Light Vehicle Engineering Vocational Schools in Bantul Regency. This research is a comparative associative research. The sampling technique uses proportional random sampling technique. The research sample was 92 students of class XI in Bantul Regency, Department of Light Vehicle Engineering, as many as 92 students. Data collection techniques using tests and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used the Independent t Test. The results of the study showed that (1) Students with high competence had higher motivation to work in the automotive field than students who had low competence as indicated by the tcount greater than the ttable value (6.209 1.973 ), the significance value is smaller than 0.05 (0,000 0.05); and (2) Schools whose BKK participation is active have students with motivation to work in the automotive field higher than students whose BKK participation is less active as indicated by the tcount greater than the ttable value (6,510 1,973), the significance value is smaller of 0.05 (0.006 0.05).

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) The Influence of Students' Perceptions About Teacher Competence on Technical Drawing Learning Outcomes, (2) The Effect of Student Learning Interest on Learning Outcomes of Technical Drawing of Class XI Light Vehicle Engineering Students at SMK N 3 Yogyakarta 2018/2019 school year. The subjects of this study were all students of class XI of Light Vehicle Engineering at SMK N 3 Yogyakarta, totaling 71 students. Data collection using a questionnaire, for Student Perceptions About Teacher Competence and Student Learning Interest in Technical Drawing Subjects and Student Learning Outcomes Class XI teaching 2018/2019. The trial of the research instrument was conducted at SMK N 3 Yogyakarta on 32 students of class X TKR 2. The analysis requirements test included the linearity and normality of each variable. Hypothesis testing uses the results of r and t tests. The results of this study are: (1) Students' Perceptions of Teacher Competence (X1) have a positive effect on Student Learning Outcomes (Y) of 0.135. This shows the more positive the Student's Perception about Teacher Competence, the higher the Learning Outcomes (2) Student Learning Interest (X2) has a positive effect on Learning Outcomes (Y) of 0.096. This shows the higher the Student's Interest in Learning, the higher the Learning Outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims (1) to determine the effect of using the Project Based Learning learning model on learning outcomes in Light Electricity Maintenance subjects at SMK N 1 Ngawen. (2) To determine the effect of the use of Project Based Learning learning methods on learning activeness in the subjects of Maintenance of Electric Vehicle Light in SMK N 1 Ngawen. This research is a quasi experiment with a pretest-posttest Control Group Design research design. The analysis test uses the independent sample T-test and descriptive analysis to describe the learning outcomes data and learning activeness. The results showed that: independent sample t-test on final learning outcomes or post-test obtained t count t table is 2.964 1,670. The significance value of the post-test results 0.004 0.05, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that there is a significant difference between the results of the experimental class post-test with the control class. Then the results of the independent sample t-test on the students activeness obtained the results that t arithmetic t table is 5.543 1.670. Significance value t 0.00 0.05, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that there is a significant difference in student activeness between the control class and the experimental class. Then it can be concluded that there is a significant influence on the project based learning model of learning outcomes learning and learning activeness of class XI students majoring in light vehicle engineering at State 1 Vocational School, Ngawen.

Abstract

The purpose this research to determine the effect of the use of the Snowball Throwing learning model and the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on student achievement, and determine the effect of using the Snowball Throwing learning model and Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on student motivation. Data collection techniques used in this study were using tests and questionnaires. The instrument validation test uses construct validation and content validation is conducted by the thesis supervisor. The results showed that the first research hypothesis stated Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. The average value of PBL class learning achievement is 78.34 and Snowball Throwing class is 83.61. Thus the Snowball Throwing learning model has a positive effect on student achievement. For the second research hypothesis states Ha is rejected and Ho is accepted. Thus the Snowball Throwing learning model does not have a positive effect on the level of student motivation. The average value of PBL class learning motivation level is 75.40 and Snowball Throwing class is 72.68.
