Abstract

Abstract   The conflict is as natural of law (sunnatullah) that always there in the course of human life. So that conflicts do not lead to violence and social disaster, the conflicts need to be managed properly. Managing conflicts is not solely aimed at the cessation of conflict, or the signing of a peace agreement between the parties to the dispute. Over, conflict management must be followed by the management of post-conflict conditions. Among the efforts the condition of post-conflict is recovery of the affected populations, especially children who are the most vulnerable groups in a conflict. One remedy is to educate children affected by conflict through peace education. This needs to be done so that they are free from the trauma, did not carry a grudge in life, and capable of being a man who loves peace. This study will explore the efforts of peace education for children affected by conflict in the Latansa Islamic Boarding School, Cangkring, Karanganyar, Demak. ***   Konflik merupakan sesuatu yang alami yang selalu ada dalam kehidupan manusia. Abstract

Terrorism has been a popular issue since September the Eleven. The incident was followed by a proclamation of war against terrorism by the US governments. The US invited other countries to join the campaign with President George W. Bush's monumental saying "You are either with us or against us". The effort of countering terrorism by the US and other countries with a weapon is likely to be ineffective. Countering terrorism, especially religious motivated terrorism can effectively be conducted by understanding the root causes of terrorism and eliminating what so-called global injustice.Terorisme menjadi isu populer sejak 11 September (2001).

Abstract

Most of women victims of domestic violence in Indonesia avoid criminal justice system in resolving their cases because criminal justice system gives financial, psychological, and social burdens for them. They accessed the Religious Court instead and other institutions that implements mediation to resolve their cases. This fact gives wider opportunity for mediation, which is a form of restorative justice system, to be a better alternative dispute resolution for domestic violence cases in Indonesia. Unlike retributive justice system that focuses on punishing the perpetrators, restorative justice system focuses on rehabilitation of the rights of the victims. This research explores mediation conducted by service providers for the victims of domestic violence in the Central Java Province, Indonesia. Data collected through interviews with judges, police, social workers, and religious figures from social organizations. This research found that mediation for the victims of domestic violence has been carried out by the services institutions for the victims of domestic violence both in the court and outside the court. However, not all mediations conducted properly as some mediators both in-court and non-court have not been trained on mediation. There is also a tendency among one service provider to proceed all cases of domestic violence in the criminal court while others want to proceed through mediation, which sparks some internal conflicts among them. This research enriches the literature on the services for the victims of domestic violence and provides some insights for alternative resolution for domestic violence cases in Indonesia and especially in Central Java.

Abstract

AbstractIn the past, women were limited in their social mobility, which is reflected in various religious jurisprudence texts, incnluding fiqh books specifically written for women. Although these women's fiqh books are considered classic, studies show that they are still the primary references for studying women's fiqh. This research aims to reveal the image of women as depicted by writers of classical women's fiqh books, using semiotic analysis methods. The research question is, what image of women is portrayed by writers of classical women's fiqh books in their works? . The results of the research indicate that the image of women in the classical women's Fiqh book, Risalatul Makhid, depicts the role of women as still normative, which means that women play a major role in the family, as well as being responsible for domestic work. In contrast, Masailun Nisa's book portrays women in a more substantive and prestigious role, allowing them to study and work, and occupy strategic positions in society. However, normative roles are still considered the main role for women. The contribution of this research is to prove the hypothesis that women are still seen as domestic creatures in Islamic boarding school (pesantren) books. Therefore, when teaching students, it is recommended to accompany classical fiqh books with contemporary fiqh discourse that is more humanistic towards women.
