The type of Research and Development used the ADDIE model without doing the implementation stage. The subjects of this study were teachers, grade VII junior high school students, and experts. The instrument design was validated, tested one to one test, and tested in small groups, and then empirically tested using Aiken’s formula. The field test results were tested for validity using product-moment correlation and tested for reliability using Cronbach’s alpha formula. This study produced three prototype non-test instruments, namely an open observation sheet (journal), self-assessment questionnaires, and peer-to-peer assessment questionnaires. The observation sheet consisted of 99 key criteria of valid and appropriate spiritual attitudes based on the results of the Aiken index compatibility test with a V value of 0.83. The self-assessment questionnaire consisted of 101 statements, 95 positive statements, and 6 negative statements that are valid and have high reliability with a price of r11 of 0.978. The peer assessment questionnaire consisted of 93 statements, 77 positive statements, and 16 negative statements that are valid and have high reliability with an r11 price of 0.990.

Abstract

This article describes the interaction between the structure and agency of ex-adherent of Kawula Warga Naluri in Banjarnegara District to maintain cultural identity and fight against the stereotype of "belum beragama" (does not belong to any religion) after the September 30th Movement incident in 1965. This article is a study of social history carried out through stages according to the rules of the historical method. The historical sources used are oral, namely historical actors and witnesses combined with written sources. Data obtained were analysed and interpreted using the structuration theory adopted from Giddens. This article produces an explanation of the reciprocal relationship between the structure of religious rules and socio-political conditions with the choice of Buddha Dharma as the religion of ex-adherent of Kawula Warga Naluri. The choice of Buddha Dharma is a form of rejection of the stereotype of "belum beragama" adherence to religious rules and persistence of cultural identity. In adapting to the Buddha Dharma, the ex-adherent of Kawula Warga Naluri face suspicious attitudes from the local government. The ex-adherent of Kawula Warga Naluri responds to this attitude in an accommodative and moderate manner. This article concludes that there is an interaction between structure and the act of disbanding, application of religious obligations, and the defense of cultural identity through Buddha Dharma by ex-adherent of Kawula Warga Naluri.

Abstract

The Muaro Jambi temple complex, once a major Buddhist center during the Srivijaya Kingdom, continues to shape the socio-religious identity of the Buddhist community while contributing to local socio-economic development. This study examines contemporary Buddhist engagement with the site, focusing on its role in religious identity formation, educational utilization, and economic impact. Using an explanatory qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study strategy, data were collected through in-depth interviews, documentation, and observations, ensuring validity through triangulation techniques. Findings reveal that religious activities such as Vesak celebrations, meditation retreats, and dharmayatra pilgrimage have reinforced Buddhist communal identity, while the temple complex also serves as an educational hub integrated into Buddhist curricula and historical studies. Additionally, its function as a religious tourism site has boosted local economic activities, though challenges remain in ensuring sustainable local community involvement. Using Parsons’ social action theory, this study illustrates how religious, cultural, and economic dimensions interact within structured social systems. These findings contribute to discussions on heritage preservation, religious identity, and sustainable cultural tourism, highlighting the importance of integrating religious heritage management with community-based development strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies employed by teachers in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum in Buddhist Religious Education and Character Education. This research was conducted at SDS Amitayus and used a qualitative approach with a case study method. The research subjects include the principal, a Buddhist Religious Education and Character Education teacher, and two students. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using data analysis techniques from Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The results indicate that the implementation strategy of the Merdeka Curriculum occurs through three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The preparation stage includes acquiring Knowledge, understanding the Merdeka Curriculum, and designing learning tools. The implementation stage involves the learning process, initial adaptation, and monitoring. The evaluation stage is carried out through formative and technical evaluations. Challenges faced by teachers occur mainly during the preparation and implementation stages, including limitations in learning resources, facilities, and infrastructure, as well as a lack of initial understanding of the Merdeka Curriculum. To overcome these difficulties, teachers rely on Knowledge-seeking, self-directed learning, and modification of teaching modules to address resource constraints.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strengthening of Buddhist Pancasila values in the context of Buddhist Religious Education at Atisa Dipamkara Tangerang Elementary School. This qualitative research employed a comprehensive approach, including interviews, observations, and document analysis for data collection, utilizing instruments such as interview guides, observation protocols, and documentation checklists. Data were meticulously analyzed using Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña's interactive model, which involves data collection, condensation, display, and conclusion/verification to address the research questions. The findings indicate that teachers internalize Buddhist Pancasila values through various methods, including teaching, reminding, reinforcing, habituating, emphasizing, modelling, and applying these values. These values encompassing compassion, love, helping others, non-violence, honesty, responsibility, gratitude, respect for self and others, admitting mistakes, refraining from defamation, maintaining focus, appropriate interactions with the opposite sex, and moderation in eating and drinking. The internalization of these values significantly influences students' character development, particularly in areas such as discipline, compassion, and respect for others, instilling confidence in the validity of the research findings. This research provides robust evidence of the impact of implementing Buddhist Pancasila values on students' character development, with practical implications for educators, researchers, and policymakers in the field of religious education and character development.
