<![CDATA[The development of technology has resulted in many innovations, one of which is in the field of education. Innovation in the field of education today apparently uses online learning systems, online tutoring course is one of the learning systems that make students or else easier to access knowledge anytime and anywhere. One of the E-learning innovations in online learning is an application called Ruangguru. Online study or online tutoring from Ruangguru is the highest number of students who have registered in Indonesia. Education in these days was no longer centered upon a back and forth between student and teacher; todays took on a more networked approach and student having their own direct connection for gain knowledge or information. This encouraged the development of a more personalized way of learning where a student’s independence and various way to gain knowledge. This study aims to analyze innovation e-learning on modern platforms in the development of learning medium Ruangguru.]]>

<![CDATA[  Abstract: This research is aimed to know the students’ responses to the feedback given by the lecturers during online class and to know the students’ motivation after feedback given. This research belongs to descriptive qualitative. Sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The participants were students of the second semester who takes an English major in Samarinda. The results showed that students felt happy with the feedback given by lecturers toward the learning materials. They can identify their mistakes, so they can correct them immediately and will not repeat the same mistakes. The students also appreciate it because it really helps them as students to be better in the future. In addition, the feedback given also can improve students’ motivation. They become more enthusiastic to learn more.Keywords: feedbacks, perception, online learning]]>

<![CDATA[Abstract : The aims of this study are: to identify the needs of English teaching materials based on local culture for VII graders of junior high school and to develop an appropriate guideline of English teaching materials based on local culture for VII graders of junior high school. This study adopted the design of research and development proposed by Dick, Carey & Carey (2009). The first draft of the guideline was validated by experts and evaluated by English teachers through Focus Group Discussion. The students’ responses also were needed to know their agreements toward the English materials based on local culture. The responses of the English teachers show the mean value ranging from 2.91 to 3.82, while the mean value of the students was ranging 2.94 to 3.62. It means both of mean value results categorized into “good†and “very good†based on interval range 2.52 to ≥ 3.28. It can be concluded that the English teachers agree with the developed guideline and the students agree with the English materials based on local culture. Keywords: needs analysis, developing a guideline of English teaching materials, local culture]]>

<![CDATA[The aim of this research was to analyze the main characters on the movie “Joker” by Todd Phillips. This research were categorized as descriptive qualitative research. The data were taken by watching the movie and reading the scripts repeatedly.The theory of the psychological aspect is based on Sigmund Freud theory. They are the Id, ego, and superego. The main character’s Id is about his negative thought to the unfair life due to the negative response from his surrounding. It is a pleasure principle that works through primary process thinking. The main character’s ego is killing people who are wrong. It is a reality principle which works to satisfy all of the Id’s demand through secondary process thinking. The main character’s superego is keeping a good people alive. It is a moral principle that reflects to an idealistic standard through the rules of parents and society. <![CDATA[All educational institutions during COVID-19 pandemic move to online learning to prevent the spread of this virus. All students and lecturers of the institutions have no other option. They must use some of online platforms to continue the learning process. The aim of this research was to know the students’ perspective of online learning on speaking class during COVID-19 pandemic. This research was categorized as mixed method research. There were 20 items of the questioner that have been distributed. The result showed that 14 items disagree and 6 items agree.]]>

<![CDATA[Kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) merupakan suatu bentuk pendidikan untuk mahasiswa guna memberikan pengalaman untuk hidup di tengah masyarakat serta dapat mengembangkan diri mahasiswa dengan mempererat sosialisasi kepada masyarakat luar. Wilayah studi yang akan dilakukan KKN ialah pada Kelurahan Teritip tepatnya pada penduduk RT. 35 di tahun 2021 tersebut rata-rata penduduk bekerja sebagai nelayan dan pedagang. Pada kawasan tersebut merupakan salah satu yang akan menjadi fokus utama lokasi untuk kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata yaitu dengan memiliki potensi yang berada pada Pantai Tanjung Bayur yang secara administratif terletak jauh dari jalan besar sehingga tidak banyak masyarakat yang masih kurang familiar dengan Pantai tersebut, Pantai Tanjung Bayur sendiri biasa hanya dikunjungi oleh beberapa wisatawan yang ingin berlibur dan menginap di villa yang sudah disediakan sehingga isu tersebut yang akan dikembangkan pada Kuliah Kerja Nyata. Untuk mencapai solusi tersebut antara lain, yaitu melakukan sosialisasi dan konsolidasi kepada masyarakat di sekitar daerah Pantai Tanjung Bayur untuk menanamkan konsep dan pemahaman terhadap metode pengelolaan dan pemanfaatan Pantai Tanjung Bayur, sehingga masyarakat di sekitar daerah Pantai tersebut dapat mengelola dan memanfaatkan potensi wisata yang ada di Pantai Tanjung Bayur dengan baik dengan cara membersihkan pantai, penambahan TPS, membuat penanda untuk menuju Pantai Tanjung Bayur berupa spanduk, dan membuat poster & siteplan mengenai denah Pantai Tanjung Bayur. Kegiatan membersihkan pantai perlu dilakukan karena pada saat melakukan survei dan observasi secara langsung, terdapat banyak sampah yang berserakan di sepanjang pantai serta membuat publikasi untuk meningkatkan informasi serta mempromosikan Pantai Tanjung Bayur. Dalam pelaksanaannya, terdapat metode pengelolaan dan pemanfaatan yang memerlukan Sumber Daya Manusia yang memiliki kemauan, keterampilan dan konsistensi terhadap metode yang akan dilakukan ini. Maka dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan ini harus memiliki tahapan-tahapan pelaksanaan kegiatan yang jelas untuk menanamkan pemahaman konsep terhadap metode yang dipilih agar berjalan secara efektif dan efisien. Adapun tahapan-tahapan pelaksanaan yang dilakukan pada pelaksanaan kegiatan yaitu dengan melakukan sosialisasi dan konsolidasi, pelatihan dan workshop dan monitoring secara berkala.]]>

<![CDATA[Youtube is a video sharing service that can be accessed freely by many people. They tried to show their skill from its channel, especially gamers. Dylan Pros and Miawaug are the gamers who are interested in playing Free Fire (FF). During the battle, their utterances delivered in many ways. The aim of this research is to know the politeness strategy used by Dylan Pros and Miawaug during battle FF. This research is categorized as a descriptive qualitative with a pragmatic approach. The theory of politeness strategy by Brown and Levinson are categorized into four strategies. They are Bald-on Record Strategy, Positive Politeness Strategy, Negative Politeness Strategy, and Off-record Strategy. The data were taken from the utterances of Dylan Pros and Miawaug. The results showed that the utterances found in Bald-on Record strategy was 87 utterances, Positive Politeness strategy was 32 utterances, Negative Politeness strategy was 15 utterances, and Off-record strategy was 2 utterances. The conclusion of this research is that Bald-on Record strategy was more dominant in its use than others.]]>

<![CDATA[Taman Kota merupakan salah satu perwujudan dari ruang terbuka kota yang sangat penting sebagai salah satu fasilitas publik yang juga adalah bagian dari ruang terbuka hijau. Selain sebagai ruang terbuka hijau, taman kota memiliki fungsi yang banyak berkaitan dengan fungsi hidrologis, kesehatan, estetika, ekologi, sosial dan rekreasi. Kota Surabaya merupakan kota terbesar di Provinsi Jawa Timur dengan jumlah penduduk terbesar kedua di Indonesia. Jumlah penduduk 2.97 juta jiwa yang mendiami wilayah seluas 326.81 km2, membuat kota Surabaya memiliki kepadatan 9.090 jiwa/km2 yang tersebar 31 Kecamatan dan 154 Kelurahan (BPS Kota Surabaya 2021). Jumlah penduduk yang besar dengan kepadatan penduduk dan penggunaan kendaraan bermotor yang tinggi membuat kejenuhan dan pencemaran di Kota Surabaya sangat tinggi. Pertambahan penduduk, pencemaran, dan urbanisasi, serta dinamika kehidupan kotanya juga menimbulkan konsekuensi spasial, yaitu bertambahnya kebutuhan akan ruang terbuka hijau publik. Untuk mencapai kebutuhan akan RTH ini tidak lepas dari pemerintah kota Surabaya yang melakukan usaha pengadaan taman kota.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to identify metafunctions in engineering using systemic functional linguistics in scientific Indonesian language learning textbooks. Metafunctions in SFL include ideational, interpersonal, and textual. This research applies literature study to identify and understand the metafunctions used. The results of this research show that the application of the third metafunction in textbooks is very effective in conveying technical information, building interaction between readers and writers, and maintaining text cohesion and coherence. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi metafungsi dalam buku teks pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia Keilmuan bidang keteknikan menggunakan pendekatan Linguistik Sistemik Fungsional. Metafungsi dalam LSF meliputi ideasional, interpersonal, dan tekstual. Penelitian ini menerapkan studi literatur untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengevaluasi metafungsi yang digunakan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan ketiga metafungsi dalam buku teks sangat efektif dalam menyampaikan informasi teknis, membangun interaksi antara pembaca dan penulis, serta menjaga kohesi dan koherensi teks.]]>
