Abstract

This study employed quasi experiment which aimed at examining high level thinking skills who learned using problem-based learning model and discovery learning model on environmental change and waste recycling. The populations of the study were all learning groups of grade X IPA of the second semester at MAN 2 in Bima city of academic year 2017/2018. Samples were selected by employing purposive sampling technique. Data of the study were collected by using test methods in forms essays test for high level thinking skills. The results of the study reveal than (i) high level thinking skills of grade X IPA students at MAN 2 in Bima city who learned using problem-based learning model is better than the one using discovery learning, (ii) there is a difference between high level thinking skills of grade X IPA students at MAN 2 in Bima city who learned using problem-based learning model is better than the one using discovery learning.

Abstract

The research aims to describe higher order thinking skills of students semester VII study program PGMI at STIT Sunan Giri Bima on enveiromental damage material using HOTS indicators that include analyze, evaluate, and create. The subject of the research were the students in semester VII PGMI at STIT Sunan Giri Bima of academic year 2018/2019 with the total of 16 students. The instrument of the research were HOTS test. The data analisys amployed descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that students' higher order thinking skills on environmental damage material are optimal and meet the three HOTS indicators, namely the aspects of analyzing, evaluating and creating.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of the surrounding environment as a learning resource. The approach used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection is done by interview technique. The interview technique was to interview the principal, two teachers and one student. Furthermore, all data is processed by the stages of qualitative data analysis, namely data reduction, data model (data display), conclusion drawing/verification. The results of the study indicate that the utilization of the environment has not been carried out optimally because there are no adequate facilities and infrastructure to support the use of the environment as a learning resource.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain data on the extent to which the increase in student interest in learning after the use of comica application-based learning media in students. The type of research used in this research is the Design & Development (D&D) method with a qualitative approach. This research was conducted at the STIT Sunan Giri Bima Campus. The subjects in this study were third semester PGMI study program students in the 2023/2024 academic year. Techniques in collecting data in this study are direct observation and questionnaires. Observing the object of research during learning takes place to find out the student's response after using comic learning media while giving questionnaires is done to find out student interest after using comic learning media. Then filling out the questionnaire is done after students have completed lectures for one semester with 4 face-to-face sessions using comic learning media. The data analysis technique used in this study is to use narrative analysis to directly examine the problems contained in the data as well as to find out to obtain data on the extent to which the increase in student interest in learning after the use of comica application-based learning media in students during the lecture process. Based on the results of observations in this study, it was found that comica application-based learning media in MI / SD science learning courses can increase interest in learning and based on the results of filling out questionnaires, it shows that the response is very high around 90% of students who agree to use comic media.
