Abstract

Chronic kidney failure is a malfunction of the kidneys which occurs over a relatively long period of time, this is the cause of reduced individual ability to maintain metabolism, fluid balance in the body which will then cause high urea values. Hemodialysis (HD) is an attempt to replace kidney function in filtering metabolic wastes, water and maintaining electrolyte levels in the body through a semi-shift membrane called Dalizer. . Ice Cubes therapy can help reduce thirst and freshen the throat. Ice cubes therapy is done by sucking ice cubes, where ice cubes can give a fresher feeling than drinking small amounts of mineral water, gargling with boiled water, gargling with medicines and others. To identify the effect of ice cube's on efforts to reduce thirst in patients undergoing hemodialysis. Data collection used the literature review study method using the Ebsco, Google Schooler, and Elsevier databases. With keywords: Ice Cube's Therapy, Hemodialysis Patients, Thirst with limited articles from 2018-2023. Obtained from 10 articles with 148 respondents in the Pretest Posttest research design and 4 respondents with a case study research design showing that there was an effect of ice cube's therapy on decreasing thirst in CKD patients undergoing Hemodialysis. In this literature review, it was found that there was an effect of ice cube's therapy on reducing thirst in CKD patients who were undergoing hemodialysis.

Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Emergency conditions that occur in society can occur at any time and anywhere. If this emergency condition is not handled properly, it will result in the threat of death and disability for society, which is certainly not in line with the SDGs ideals that have been proclaimed. It is necessary to increase the number of community members who have first aid competency so that it can reduce mortality and morbidity rates. In an effort to increase the number of first aid workers who are prepared to provide first aid, a health promotion model is needed in first aid in emergency cases. Methods: A mixed method of qualitative and quantitative research with research and development (R&D) research was applied to produce a training model for the community. Health promotion model was tested in phase two on 50 respondents who were randomly divided into intervention and control groups. Both group was evaluated with pre-post test. Results: Community-Based Daily Emergency First Aid Management Training gives a positive effects in knowledge, skills, and attitude of respondent with sig 0.00. Conclusion: The conclusion of this research is that the Community-Based Daily Emergency First Aid Management Training Model increases community competence in carrying out first aid for everyday emergency situations

Abstract

Background: Child stunting refers to a child who is too short for his or her age and is the result of chronic or recurrent malnutrition, based on the height-for-age index (HAZ). The results of weighing and measurements at the Posyandu, or community health post, show an increase in the prevalence of stunting from 7% in 2019 to 10.41% in 2020. A preliminary survey at the Ceper Community Health Centre in Klaten Regency showed that out of 1,922 children under five, 187 were stunted. Local wisdom is considered highly valuable and has its own benefits for the lives of the community. Thanks to local wisdom, they can sustain their lives and even develop sustainably. The role of midwives in developing local wisdom for stunting prevention is crucial, as they are the frontline health workers in the prevention of stunting. Methods: The research design is an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional approach. Data analysis was conducted using regression. The research sample was taken using cluster random sampling techniques involving 60 respondents. Results: The data analysis results showed a relationship between the role of educators and motivators in the intervention of developing local wisdom for stunting prevention. Conclusion: The role of village midwives in providing information, encouragement, facilities, and empowering health cadres is crucial in developing local wisdom for stunting prevention.

Abstract

TB control requires treatment for 6-8 months, the duration of this treatment can affect the level of depression symptoms in patients with pulmonary TB, the environment will also affect the emergence of depression symptoms in someone with pulmonary TB, the form of support that can be given is in the form of family support, this support is very important so that patients with pulmonary TB do not experience depression. Research Objectives. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the duration of treatment and family support on the level of depression symptoms in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. Research Methods Observational analytical design with a cross-sectional study approach. The sampling technique used was a non-probability sampling technique with a quota sampling method and 64 respondents were obtained. The instruments used were a family support questionnaire and a questionnaire on the level of depression symptoms. Data analysis used an ordinal logistic regression test with a p value <0.05. Research Results. The results of the simultaneous test of the relationship between the length of treatment and family support on the level of depression symptoms in patients with pulmonary TB at Surakarta General Hospital obtained a p-value of 0.000, then (p = 0.000 <0.05) meaning that the variables of length of treatment and family support together have an effect on the variable of the level of depression symptoms with a magnitude of the relationship of 47.5%. Conclusion. There is a significant relationship between the length of treatment and family support on the level of depression symptoms in patients with pulmonary TB at Surakarta General Hospital.

Abstract

Burns can cause disruption of skin integrity which makes patients susceptible to infection. It has been reported that morbidity and mortality in this population are almost 61% caused by infection. One of the best and optimal treatments in this problem is to use complementary therapy that accelerates the healing of burns, namely by administering petai cina leaves topically. The source of the article used was obtained from a search through PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar from 2015 to 2018. After being obtained, an article assessment was carried out until the stage of making a literature review. Based on the literature review that has been carried out, it was found that the use of petai cina leaves topically can accelerate the healing time of burns. This is also supported by the results of statistical tests from several studies which show that petai cina leaves are effective in accelerating the healing of burns with p 0.05. Petai cina leaves have the potential as a complementary nursing intervention for healing burns that supports the performance of the main pharmacological therapy for burns, although clinical trials have not been carried out on humans.

Abstract

Background: Diarrhea remains one of the leading causes of death in children, making prevention and control efforts crucial. Health education, using media such as leaflets and audio-visual tools, plays a vital role in raising awareness. This activity aims to implement a school-based community service programme and evaluate the improvement in knowledge and attitudes towards diarrhoea prevention among fifth-grade students at SDN Temboro 1 after audiovisual-based health education. Methods: This school-based PkM programme presented audiovisual modules on diarrhoea prevention to 36 fifth-grade students and conducted pre- and post-tests to monitor their learning outcomes. Knowledge was measured using a structured questionnaire (multiple choice/true-false), and attitudes were measured using a 4-point Likert scale; both were administered immediately before and after the session. Results: Pre- and post-monitoring showed improvement in both approaches; the audiovisual group recorded an average knowledge score of 70.89 and an attitude score of 66.33 after the session. These findings confirm that audiovisual education is more effective in optimising understanding and attitudes towards diarrhoea prevention in the context of school-based PkM. Conclusion: Audio-visual health education proves to be an effective method in enhancing both knowledge and attitudes toward diarrhea prevention in elementary school students.
