Abstract

Kepemimpinan pendidikan sangat dibutuhkan saat ini, diantaranya peran penting kepala masyarakat seperti kemampuan manajerial yang mencukupi dari kepala madrasah dan didukung oleh kinerja tenaga profesional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana sebenarnya gaya kepemimpinan kepala madrasah di MTs 'Ushriyyah Purbalingga, peneliti merumuskan masalah sebagai berikut: (1) Bagaimanakah gaya kepemimpinan kepala madrasah di MTs 'Ushriyyah Purbalingga? (2) Bagaimana kinerja guru di MTs Ushriyyah Purbalingga? (3) Bagaimana pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan kepala madrasah di MTs 'Ushriyyah Purbalingga? Metode yang digunakan dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan teknik analisis data adalah teknik analisis model interaktif (aliran) yang meliputi reduksi data, display data, dan penarikan kesimpulan, pengambilan keputusan/verifikasi dan keabsahan data penelitian sebagai berikut: Pertama, gaya kepemimpinan kepala MTs 'Ushriyyah Purbalingga pada gaya kepemimpinan konversi, sosok pemimpin yang berada di tengah - tengah anggota kelompoknya , menganggap bawahannya sebagai rekan seperjuangan, mengharapkan pendapat, saran, dan kritik yang membangun. Kedua, hasil kerja para guru di MTs 'Ushriyyah Purbalingga cukup baik. Hal ini terlihat dari guru yang semakin disiplin dalam memasuki kelas, peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran, terbukti melakukan evaluasi, ketepatan guru dalam menyampaikan materi serta semakin bervariasinya metode dan media pembelajaran yang digunakan guru. Ketiga, dampak gaya kepemimpinan kepala madrasah yang komunikasi dikatakan berhasil atau berdampak positif bagi guru. Apalagi dalam proses belajar mengajar di kelas, guru terus mengalami perkembangan ke arah peningkatan kinerja guru yang lebih baik dan memuaskan .

Abstract

Learning activities at SMP N 1 Kutasari class IX are very dependent on the ability of the teacher when providing material. One of them is the use of learning media that can be used by teachers to convey messages from sources to students in a planned manner, so that the process of teaching and learning activities can be carried out efficiently and effectively. Learning media can be in the form of audio, visual, audio-visual and multimedia media. One of them is power point media. In the field of education, powerpoint is not only used for presentations, but can be used as an effective learning medium. This can make students more interested in learning, because power points can be made as attractive as possible by relying on a unique and creative display that has been previously created by the teacher. The results showed that, 1) Students paid more attention during the learning process because the learning model was more interesting, 2) Students remembered the material given by the teacher more, and 3) The teacher was easier to convey the material because it was arranged using presentation slides.

Abstract

This study was aimed at examining the pattern of community participation in the planning of Islamic education funding, especially in the Taman Pendidikan Al Qur'an (TPQ). This research is important because many Islamic educational institutions had low standard quality and even stopped their activities because of weak education funding, including in the realm of financial planning. Community participation is considered appropriate for strengthening education financing planning as a form of equitable democracy, which means that the community has the right to get quality education and is obliged to provide funds. This research is qualitative descriptive field research with case studies as its approach. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation, while the analysis of this research follows the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and inference. The obtained data shows that the presence of active community participation with cultural religious functional patterns in the planning of Islamic education financing at TPQ in Banyumas Regency, Central Java indicates an increase in awareness and serious attention of the community towards religious education for their children. Therefore, it is time for Islamic education institutions to be able to utilize this momentum as part of efforts to improve the quality of Islamic education through strengthening education funding. Abstract

Sciences play an important role for human in living their life and technology   constitutes the embodiment of human’s systemic effort in applying the sciences so that it can make things easier and provide wealth for human when it is followed by religion. However, it will bring disaster instead when it is not inspired by religion. One of the destructive impacts of science advancement is environmental crisis. This environmental crisis occurs because of spiritual emptiness, human are far from God. They succumb to greed and keep themselves away from God’s moral guideline and lack ethics in interacting with God’s other creatures. In the academic world, Islam Religion learning constitutes a medium to filter or minimize some human destructive measures to the nature, making the integration of sciences, technology and environment in learning a key to the creation of sciences, technology and environment harmonization.  Using qualitative research with a case study approach, it is expected that the ideal picture of science-technology and living environment sinergy can be obtained. The data are collected using observation, interview and documentation and analyzed using reduction, display and conclusion techniques as well as data verification. The research results indicate that the integration of science-technology and living environment constitutes the highest truth, i.e. the empirical truth which symbolizes the might of Allah, the Almighty Creator, and an effort of synergizing the qauliyah (textual) and kauniyah (universal) verses and of indirectly eliminating the scientific dichotomy. This synergy pattern will never be manifested without Islam Religion Education learning in academic context at schools, particularly Adiwiyata schools which implement the integration pattern of science-technology and environment integrally.

Abstract

The Learning processes commonly used in Islamic Religious Education, such as lectures or memorization, tend to make students passive and provide limited space for critical thinking. This study aims to determine the implementation of the Cooperative Learning model in improving critical thinking skills in Islamic Religious Education learning among 11th-grade students at SMA Diponegoro 1 Purwokerto. This research uses a field research method with a descriptive qualitative approach. The study was conducted at SMA Diponegoro 1 Purwokerto, located at Jl. Letjend Pol. Soemarto Gg. VI No. 63, Karangsuci, Purwanegara, Purwokerto Utara District, Banyumas Regency. The research subjects include the principal, Islamic Religious Education teacher, and 11th-grade students. The results of the study show that Islamic Religious Education learning at SMA Diponegoro 1 Purwokerto has applied the Cooperative Learning model. The type used by the teacher is Numbered Heads Together (NHT). This model is used to increase participation in group discussions and encourage critical thinking skills through collaboration and individual responsibility within the group. In implementing the Numbered Heads Together type of Cooperative Learning model, the teacher carries out three stages: preparation, implementation, and conclusion. The implementation of the Cooperative Learning model with the NHT type runs effectively. Students show improvement in critical thinking activities, as seen from their active participation in group discussions, ability to express opinions, and skills in solving problems logically and systematically.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze innovative strategies based on Islamic values to improve the quality of education at This study examines innovative strategies grounded in Islamic values to enhance educational quality at MI Ma’arif NU Kaliwangi. The research addresses a persistent gap between the increasing demands for pedagogical innovation and digital integration in primary education and instructional practices in madrasahs, which remain largely conventional and insufficiently aligned with a systematic internalisation of Islamic values. A qualitative case study design was employed, involving 22 teachers, including the head of the madrasah, and 274 students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis, and analysed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, encompassing data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validity ensured through source and methodological triangulation. The findings indicate that the implementation of Project-Based Islamic Learning, digital Qur’anic literacy, experiential moral learning, interactive digital media, and the cultivation of digital etiquette significantly enhances students’ learning motivation, Islamic literacy, and character development, particularly in terms of social empathy and learning discipline. The novelty of this study lies in its integrative pedagogical framework that synthesises project-based and technology-enhanced learning with the contextual internalisation of Islamic values at the Islamic primary education level. Theoretically, this research contributes to the advancement of innovation and quality management theories in Islamic education by positioning Islamic values as a pedagogical foundation rather than merely normative content. The implementation is supported by a strong religious culture, adaptive teachers, and parental involvement, although challenges persist regarding infrastructural limitations and uneven technological competence. Continuous teacher professional development and strategic optimisation of educational technology are recommended to sustain innovation in Islamic value-based learning

Abstract

Non-formal education through institutions such as Community Learning Centers (PKBM) plays a strategic role in expanding access to education for learners who do not pursue formal schooling. However, the effectiveness of such services largely depends on how the curriculum is managed, particularly when it is designed based on the actual needs of the learners. This study aims to examine innovations in needs-based curriculum management within non-formal education at PKBM. A qualitative method with a descriptive approach was used, focusing on analyzing the curriculum management process starting from the identification of learners’ needs, the design of a responsive curriculum, the implementation of learning activities, to the evaluation and follow-up of the programs. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and were then analyzed thematically to identify patterns of innovation and best practices in curriculum management. The findings indicate that by integrating learner participation mechanisms, utilizing flexible learning media and technology, and conducting evaluations based on relevance to learners’ needs, PKBM can enhance learner engagement, improve the relevance of learning, and strengthen learning outcomes. This article recommends that PKBM managers should not merely adopt the formal curriculum literally, but instead actively adapt it to the context of learners and the local environment. Thus, innovation in needs-based curriculum management holds significant potential to improve the quality and accessibility of non-formal education, while equipping learners with literacy, life skills, and contextual capacities needed in an era of rapid change. ABSTRAK Pendidikan non-formal melalui lembaga seperti Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat (PKBM) memainkan peran strategis dalam membuka akses pendidikan bagi peserta didik yang tidak menempuh jalur formal. Namun, efektivitas layanan tersebut sangat bergantung pada bagaimana kurikulum dikelola terutama kurikulum yang dirancang berdasarkan kebutuhan nyata peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji inovasi manajemen kurikulum berbasis kebutuhan peserta didik dalam pendidikan non-formal di PKBM. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, yang berfokus pada analisis proses manajemen kurikulum mulai dari tahap identifikasi kebutuhan peserta didik, perancangan kurikulum yang responsif, implementasi pembelajaran, hingga evaluasi dan tindak lanjut program. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Kemudian data dianalisis secara tematik untuk menemukan pola inovasi dan praktik terbaik dalam pengelolaan kurikulum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan mengintegrasikan mekanisme partisipasi peserta didik, pemanfaatan media dan teknologi pembelajaran yang fleksibel, serta evaluasi berbasis relevansi kebutuhan, PKBM dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan peserta, meningkatkan relevansi pembelajaran, dan memperkuat hasil belajar. Artikel ini merekomendasikan agar manajemen PKBM tidak hanya mengadopsi kurikulum formal secara literal, tetapi melakukan adaptasi aktif terhadap konteks peserta didik dan lingkungan lokal. Dengan demikian, inovasi dalam manajemen kurikulum berbasis kebutuhan memiliki potensi besar untuk meningkatkan mutu dan akses pendidikan non-formal, serta membekali peserta didik dengan literasi, keterampilan hidup, dan kapasitas kontekstual yang dibutuhkan dalam era perubahan cepat.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the influence of transformational leadership and quality management on improving the performance of educational institutions. The method used was qualitative research with a case study approach in several educational institutions that have implemented transformational leadership and quality management systems. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The results showed that transformational leadership applied by principals was able to create a positive organizational culture, increase teacher and staff motivation, and encourage innovation in the learning process. The systematic implementation of quality management contributed to increased operational effectiveness and achievement of educational quality standards. The combination of these two factors resulted in significant institutional performance improvements, reflected in increased student academic achievement, stakeholder satisfaction, and institutional accreditation. The conclusion of this study indicated that the synergy between transformational leadership and quality management was the key to success in improving the performance of educational institutions in the current competitive era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of transformational leadership in optimizing human resource (HR) management in Islamic educational institutions. The main issue examined is how transformational leadership style, with inspirational, motivational, and spiritually-based characteristics, can contribute to the effectiveness of HR management systems in Islamic education, which have so far tended to be administrative and less strategic. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach, analyzing various literature from 2020-2025 and previous research related to leadership, HR management, and Islamic values in education. The research results indicate that transformational leadership plays a significant role in improving teacher performance, building a collaborative and innovative work culture, and strengthening the integration of Islamic values in every aspect of human resource management. Additionally, transformational leadership can serve as an effective model for realizing adaptive, innovative, and quality-oriented HR management. This study recommends that future research develop an empirical model that examines the relationship between dimensions of transformational leadership and HR performance indicators in Islamic education across various types of institutions, such as madrasahs, pesantrens, and modern Islamic schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the role and quality of Islamic boarding school alumni in leading formal educational institutions amid the challenges of the digital era, with a focus on leadership competencies, digital skills, and religious character as superior human resources. The method used is a literature review with thematic analysis of relevant local literature published in the period 2021–2024 to identify factors that influence the success of Islamic boarding school alumni in educational leadership. The results of the study show that Islamic boarding school alumni have a strong foundation in traditional Islamic boarding school values, such as discipline, work ethic, moral responsibility, and prophetic leadership, which support their effectiveness in leading formal educational institutions. However, these values need to be reinforced with digital literacy, modern educational management skills, and professional networks in order to respond to the changes and demands of the digital era. Based on these findings, this study recommends the integration of digital literacy into the pesantren curriculum, the strengthening of leadership development programmes, and increased synergy between pesantren and formal educational institutions as strategies for preparing alumni who are adaptive, competitive, and relevant to the needs of education in the digital era.
