Abstract

This article examines how preaching practices are evolving alongside the rapid expansion of social media. Rather than merely shifting platforms, preaching today is undergoing deeper changes in how messages are structured, communicated, and received by audiences. While many previous studies have focused on technological or communicative aspects, this paper attempts to bring those changes into a more integrated theological-homiletical reflection. Using a qualitative literature-based approach, this study identifies both the emerging challenges and the new opportunities within digital preaching practices. The findings indicate that adapting to digital media is not simply a matter of technical adjustment. It requires a rethinking of homiletical methods so that theological depth can be maintained while still engaging meaningfully with digital culture. This study, therefore, offers a more integrative perspective on preaching in the digital era.

Abstract

This study discusses the role of believers in actualizing the Great Commission amid religious moderation, with a focus on the call to be witnesses of Christ in a pluralistic modern era. In the context of a diverse society, witnessing one's faith is not only manifested through verbal evangelism, but also through concrete actions that reflect the love, truth, and peace of Christ. Through a qualitative descriptive approach and literature study, this research explores how believers can carry out the Great Commission wisely, relevantly, and contextually amid the trend of religious moderation that demands tolerance and respect for differences. The results of the study show that being a witness of Christ means living as a representation of God's love in words, deeds, and attitudes toward others. True witness of faith is not coercive, but presents goodness that can be felt by all people. In an era of religious moderation, believers are called to act as peacemakers, engage in interfaith dialogue, and reject all forms of violence and hate speech. Consistent and loving witness is an effective means of introducing Christ without causing conflict between religious communities. Practically speaking, this study confirms that the actualization of the Great Commission today must be realized through exemplary lives, both in social environments and in the digital world. The church and Christians need to strengthen faith education, build Christ-like character in the congregation, and develop creative witnessing strategies that are relevant to the context of a pluralistic society. In this way, believers can live as the light and salt of the world, bringing Christ's love to life, so that the Great Commission continues to be realized in a peaceful, just, and loving community.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the conceptual relationship between spiritual formation, character formation, Christian leadership, and transformative discipleship and to formulate an integrative framework for church discipleship praxis. The study employs a qualitative approach through a theological literature review and conceptual analysis of scholarship on spiritual formation, Christian leadership, and discipleship. The findings indicate that spiritual formation is a holistic process of transformation through the work of the Holy Spirit toward Christlikeness, encompassing spiritual, emotional, relational, intellectual, vocational, physical, and stewardship dimensions. Such formation provides the foundation for character development, which is subsequently embodied in Christian leadership through modeling, equipping, mentoring, and empowering others. Leadership rooted in spiritual formation creates a relational context for discipleship oriented toward the transformation and reproduction of disciples. The novelty of this study lies in formulating an integrative framework that understands spiritual formation, character, leadership, and discipleship as interrelated and circular processes. This framework calls the church to develop discipleship as a culture of life formation centered on Christlikeness.   Artikel ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan konseptual antara formasi spiritual, pembentukan karakter, kepemimpinan Kristen, dan pemuridan transformatif serta merumuskan kerangka integratif bagi praksis pemuridan gereja. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui studi literatur teologis dan analisis konseptual terhadap literatur mengenai spiritual formation, kepemimpinan Kristen, dan pemuridan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa formasi spiritual merupakan proses transformasi holistik melalui karya Roh Kudus menuju keserupaan dengan Kristus yang mencakup dimensi spiritual, emosional, relasional, intelektual, vokasional, fisik, dan penatalayanan. Formasi tersebut menjadi fondasi pembentukan karakter yang kemudian diwujudkan dalam kepemimpinan Kristen melalui keteladanan, memperlengkapi, mendampingi, dan memberdayakan. Kepemimpinan yang berakar pada formasi spiritual menciptakan konteks bagi pemuridan relasional yang berorientasi pada transformasi dan reproduksi murid. Kebaruan penelitian terletak pada perumusan kerangka integratif yang memandang formasi spiritual, karakter, kepemimpinan, dan pemuridan sebagai proses yang saling berkaitan dan bersifat sirkular.
