Abstract

Abstrak Studi yang berkaitan dengan braneworld dimensi lima dengan brane tunggal yang terletak di telah diakukan, model Randall-Sundrum dan modifikasi Randall-Sundrum. Aspek yang ditinjau adalah skalar Ricci, persamaan Einstein, tensor energi-momentum, konsanta kosmologi dan massa Planck efektif dalam dimensi-empat. Dari ekspresi skalar Ricci dan analisis persamaan medan Einstein pada brane dan bulk dapat diinterpretasikan bahwa kedua metrik memiliki ruang-waktu yang berbeda. Kata-kata kunci: Brane-world, Dimensi Ekstra, Model Randall-Sundrum, Model Modifikasi RandallSundrum. Abstract The five-dimensional braneworld models with single brane placed at have been studied, Randall-Sundrum model and a Modified Randall-Sundrum model. In this case, in terms of Ricci scalar, Einstein equations and energy-momentum tensor, cosmological constant and four-dimensional Planck efective mass have been investigated. From the Ricci scalar and Einstein equation expressions both on brane and bulk indicate that those metrics have different space-time. Abstract

Most physics books do not reveal clearly how the Heisenberg uncertainty principle was derived. This uncertainty comes from the consequence of the wave-particle duality of matter giving statement that position and momentum cannot be measured in the same time. This article tries to reveal mathematics background behind the expression the Heisenberg uncertainty using supported mathematics background such as Fourier transform, Fourier transform integral, the probability of Gaussian distribution and it ends up with the expression of wave function which describe the localized particle giving relation Heisenberg uncertainty principle.

Abstract

Thermodynamics is an abstract concept making it difficult for physics and chemistry undergraduate student to understand it. The purpose of this research is to know the level understanding of the fundamental concepts of thermodynamics so that lecturers can develop strategies to teach thermodynamics appropriately. An exploratory small-scale study was conducted on students majoring in physics and chemistry to evaluate an understanding of heat, temperature, energy, work, thermodynamic processes and the first law of thermodynamics. The research sample consisted of 20 undergraduate students who were randomly selected from two majors, namely physics and chemistry. Data were collected through a diagnostic test to determine the level understanding of students' concepts which consisted of 20 questions. In addition, interviews were conducted with those of 20 students related to given questions. The results showed that the level of students' conceptual understanding of the concept of thermodynamics was still low. The main reasons that cause students have problems in understanding thermodynamic concepts are the concept of thermodynamics is an abstract physics concept and the matters of thermodynamics are lack in explanation and interpretation of phenomena and not linking them to daily life

Abstract

Student management is a word that combines "management" and "students". Management is a strategy consisting of actions in the form of planning, organizing, mobilizing and controlling which are carried out to set and achieve predetermined goals using human resources and other resources. This research examines the relationship between student management and the involvement of Muhammadiyah 1 Medan Middle School students in the motorbike gang community. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative using a literature study approach. The results of the research explain the connection between student management and the involvement of Muhammadiyah 1 Medan Middle School students in the motorbike gang community because the regulations made by the school were negligent, the school did not provide outreach regarding the vision and mission of character education and the dangers of the motorbike gang community, as well as the lack of communication between student management with other management fields to provide direction or guidance regarding anticipatory handling of criminal acts that are rife among students.
