Abstract

Penelitian dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk melihat efektivitas penggunaan laboratorium virtual untuk praktikum fisika umum di Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Negeri Medan. Untuk melihat tingkat efektivitas penggunaan laboraotrium virtual digunakan metode deskriptif dengan menerapkan pendekatan kuesioner (angket). Laboratorium Virtual mempermudah mahasiswa untuk melakukan praktikum fisika umum selama pembelajaran online. Media laboratorium virtual untuk praktikum fisika umum cukup efektiv. Kondisi ini dapat dilihat dari tanggapan responden terhadap video praktikum dan efektivitas penggunaan laboratorium virtual yang digunakan pada praktikum fisika umum. Hasil ini dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan kajian selanjutnya dan menjadi rujukan untuk perbaikan. Sehingga laboratorium virtual fisika umum dapat dipergunakan pada pembelajaran online dan tatap muka (blended learning).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis: (1) perbedaan hasbelajar kognitif tingkat tinggi fisika siswa dengan model pembelajaraberbasis proyek dengan strategi think talk write dan pembelajarakonvensional; (2) perbedaan hasil belajar kognitif tingkat tinggi fisika siswayang memiliki kreativitas ilmiah di atas rata-rata dan di bawah rata-rata; dan(3) interaksi antara model pembelajaran dengan tingkat kreativitas ilmiahdalam mempengaruhi hasil belajar kognitif tingkat tinggi fisika siswPenelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi eksperimen. Sampel dalampenelitian ini dipilih dengan cluster random sampling sebanyak dua kelaInstrumen terdiri dari tes hasil belajar kognitif tingkat tinggi berupa teessay dan tes kreativitas ilmiah. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakanANAVA dua jalur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajakognitif tingkat tinggi fisika menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasproyek dengan strategi think talk write berbeda dan menunjukkan hasil yanlebih baik dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional, hasil belajarkognitif tingkat tinggi siswa fisika dengan kreativitas ilmiah di atas rata-rataberbeda dan menunjukkan hasil lebih baik dari siswa dengan kreativitasilmiah di bawah rata-rata, serta terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaranberbasis proyek dengan strategi think talk write dan kreativitas ilmiah dalammempengaruhi hasil belajar kognitif tingkat tinggi fisika siswa. Kata kunci: hasil belajar kognitif tingkat tinggi, kreativitas ilmiah, model pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek, strategi think talk write

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out in Sambirejo Timur Village, Percut Sei Tuan District with culinary business partner Rusmiati. The problems faced by partners are consumer demand that is not following production capacity because production is still carried out manually, the lack of partner knowledge about attractive product packaging designs, product halal certification processes, marketing alternatives, and preparation of financial reports. These problems make partner businesses not develop and experience a decline, both in the fields of production and marketing. The methods implemented in this service activity are in the form of education, training, socialization, and mentoring. This method is carried out in the form of training on how to use appropriate technology tools, namely the use of dough printing machines and product packaging tools, training and designing packaging designs that are more attractive, and tidy so that partner products are more durable, socialization and assistance for standardization of the production process including the selection of raw materials, structuring the production space, making work standards to assisting partners in completing LPPOM MUI halal certification application documents as well as implementing education and training on financial accounting and business management and marketing through online store applications by utilizing IT.

Abstract

This research was conducted to map the factors that became the source of student learning difficulties in terms of the learning process and the difficulties experienced in solving Newton's style and law problems. The population of this descriptive study was all students of class VIII in Langkat Regency, while the schools that were the samples in this were students of class VIII in three schools, namely SMP Negeri 2 Stabat, SMP Seri Langkat, and SMP Negeri 3 Satu Atap. Data collection in this study was conducted using student questionnaire instruments, teacher questionnaires, learning activity observation sheets, student activity assessment sheets and essay questions. The analysis of the research results found that the factors that influence the learning difficulties of junior high school students in Langkat Regency are the weak of Utilization of Learning Resources / Learning Media, the inadequate learning which can trigger and maintain student engagement and the low ability of students to solve problems coherently. Keywords: Learning Difficulties, Descriptive Study, Observation Sheet

Abstract

This study aims to develop HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skill) test instruments that are able to measure the level of students' critical and creative thinking skills in optical material. The research method used is the ADDIE Research and Development method (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, & Evaluate). The research subjects used students from Medan An-Nizam Private High School T.P 2018/2019. The study produced 20 items of test instruments consisting of multiple choices and essays showing that HOTS thinking skills (Higher Order Thinking Skill) from the study sample amounted to 39 people were 18% of students had creative thinking skills, 23% of students had Creative-Critical thinking skills, 54% of students had skills critical thinking, and 5% of students with superior skills are critical.Keywords: Development of HOTS Test Instrument, Optical Material, ADDIE Method.

Abstract

Thermodynamics is an abstract concept making it difficult for physics and chemistry undergraduate student to understand it. The purpose of this research is to know the level understanding of the fundamental concepts of thermodynamics so that lecturers can develop strategies to teach thermodynamics appropriately. An exploratory small-scale study was conducted on students majoring in physics and chemistry to evaluate an understanding of heat, temperature, energy, work, thermodynamic processes and the first law of thermodynamics. The research sample consisted of 20 undergraduate students who were randomly selected from two majors, namely physics and chemistry. Data were collected through a diagnostic test to determine the level understanding of students' concepts which consisted of 20 questions. In addition, interviews were conducted with those of 20 students related to given questions. The results showed that the level of students' conceptual understanding of the concept of thermodynamics was still low. The main reasons that cause students have problems in understanding thermodynamic concepts are the concept of thermodynamics is an abstract physics concept and the matters of thermodynamics are lack in explanation and interpretation of phenomena and not linking them to daily life

Abstract

Learning physics through the investigation of phenomena using practicum equipment in the laboratory is the real core of learning physics. The basic competence of prospective science teachers towards understanding concepts through investigating phenomena is well developed. The achievement of other, more abstract concept representation competencies such as numerical, graphical, and mathematical representations requires new methods or ways in the learning process. The development of computer technology as part of further investigation of learning in the laboratory needs to be developed to facilitate learning. The purpose of this research is to investigate how to improve competence in understanding concepts based on verbal representations (Verb Rep) in the form of investigations of phenomena, to achieve multiple representations (MR) (Formal Representation, Numerical Representation, Graphical Representation, Pictorial Representation) with computer-based learning. The results showed that the conventional group (N=30; M=72.87; SD = 7.03; SE = 1.28) had a lower average score on the test results than the experimental group (N = 30; M = 83.27; SD = 4.93; SE = 0.89). Independent mean statistical tests showed significant differences (t (30) = -6.63; p <0.001; r = 0.78) between groups learning to use one representation (conventional) and those using MR to solve problem-solving cases of lens content and curved mirrors, with the category of effect size (r)0.78 exceeding 0.50 (large effect).

Abstract

Pembelajaran berdiferensiasi menjadi salah satu strategi untuk mengatasi masalah keberagaman siswa agar dapat belajar sesuai kesiapan, minat dan gaya belajar sehingga memperoleh hasil belajar yang lebih maksimal. Dalam praktiknya, pembelajaran berdiferensiasi belum banyak dilakukan khususnya pada materi IPA. Oleh karena itu, tujuan tinjauan literatur ini untuk menguraikan tahapan model yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran berdiferensiasi serta menganalisis pengaruhnya pada pembelajaran IPA. Metode penelitian menggunakan tinjauan literatur sistematis (Systematic Literature Review) dengan teknik PRISMA dari sumber literatur berupa artikel penelitian yang sudah dipublikasi mulai tahun 2017-2022 sebanyak 11 artikel. Berdasarkan kajian literatur diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa model pembelajaran yang telah digunakan untuk mengimplementasikan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi pada materi IPA adalah Problem Based Learning, Differentiated Science Inquiry (DSI), Blended Learning’s Station Rotation, Pembelajaran Berdiferensiasi dengan teori Triarchic, Direct Instructional (model pembelajaran langsung) dan model khusus dengan instruksi berdiferensiasi berbasis SETS. Pembelajaran berdiferensiasi melalui model-model terpilih ini memberikan pengaruh positif pada hasil belajar, proses pembelajaran, motivasi, keaktifan dan keterlibatan siswa, literasi sains serta keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa (berpikir kritis dan berpikir kreatif).Keywords: Pembelajaran Berdiferensiasi, Pendidikan IPA, Tinjauan Literatur Sistematis

Abstract

The partners of this Community Partnership Program (PKM) are home-cooked tempeh entrepreneurs in the village of Pool, District of Percut Sei Tuan. Activities carried out as solutions to solve partner problems are 1) counseling on the impact of using unsuitable water for tempe production for health in the short and long term, 2) assistance in making integrated water filtration installations, 3) training and processing practices well water using integrated water filtration installations, 4. assistance in providing more hygienic production facilities. Based on the activities carried out, it can be concluded that: (1) Partners understand the negative impact on the health of using unclean water in producing tempeh. (2) Partners already have a water filter system installed at the tempe production site. (3) Partners already have the skills to use a water filter system to get clean water and how to treat it. (4) Partners have additional hygienic production equipment

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) Menghasilkan LKPD berbasis discovery learning berbantuan software tracker yang layak digunakan. (2) Mengetahui keefektifan LKPD berbasis discovery learning berbantuan software tracker. (3) Mengetahui respon guru dan peserta didik MAN 1 Medan terhadap LKPD berbasis discovery learning berbantuan software tracker. Jenis penelitian ini adalah research and development (R&D) dengan memodifikasi 4D. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 36 peserta didik. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket kelayakan materi LKPD, desain LKPD, kelayakan LKPD berbasis discovery learning, penilaian guru serta peserta didik LKPD yang dikembangkan. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini adalah deskriptif. Hasil validasi diperoleh pengembangan LKPD berbasis discovery learning berbantuan software tracker materi gerak lurus berubah beraturan tingkat kelayakan materi LKPD memperoleh persentase 89%, kelayakan desain LKPD 92% dan kelayakan LKPD berbasis discovery learning 94%. Persentase tersebut memenuhi kriteria kelayakan BSNP dalam kriteria sangat layak. Penilaian peserta didik pada sampel kecil dan besar memperoleh persentase 89,3% dan 92,7% dengan kriteria sangat layak, respon guru bidang studi pada LKPD memperoleh persentase 94% dengan kriteria sangat layak.Kata Kunci: LKPD, discovery learning, gerak lurus berubah beraturan
