Abstract

Facebook (FB) dan WhatsApp (WA) telah menjadi "portal komunikasi" untuk jaringan sosial, yang telah dengan cepat mengubah cara orang berkomunikasi dan tetap terhubung. Dari perspektif pendidikan, situs jejaring sosial telah menerima ulasan ambigu. Beberapa penelitian telah menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan FB menjadi lebih luas dalam pembelajaran bahasa dan dapat menjadi alat yang efektif. FB tidak hanya mudah digunakan, tetapi juga membantu mendorong belajar mandiri dalam lingkungan sosial bagi siswa dan menempatkan kontrol untuk belajar ke tangan siswa. Artikel ini berfokus pada situs jejaring sosial FB, dan aplikasi WA dalam konteks UT. Ia mencoba untuk menjelaskan kegiatan berbagi informasi dilakukan melalui diskusi online menggunakan FB dan kelompok WA dan melibatkan siswa pembelajaran jarak jauh. Penelitian ini meneliti partisipasi siswa dalam diskusi online dan umpan balik mereka pada penggunaan FB dan forum WA sebagai platform untuk activity. FB dan WA diadopsi untuk mendukung tutorial online di Universitas Terbuka Indonesia dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan guru-murid dan partisipasi rekan-berbasis, dan meningkatkan pengiriman pedagogis dan pembelajaran inklusif di ruang formal dan informal. Temuan menunjukkan FB dan WA berubah pedagogi dengan meningkatkan lingkungan sosial konstruktif untuk guru-siswa dan rekan-berbasis co-konstruksi pengetahuan. Peran guru berubah dari instruktur untuk fasilitator dan mentor memberikan bimbingan pada permintaan. Peran mahasiswa juga berubah dari penerima informasi ke generator informasi, kolaborator, organizer informasi / pencari / pemberi, pemikir kritis dan pemimpin kelompok. Namun tantangan menggunakan Facebook dan WhatsApp termasuk guru kebencian penggabungan akademik dan keluarga hidup disebabkan oleh konsultasi WhatsApp setelah jam. Facebook (FB) and WhatsApp (WA) have become the communication portal for social networking, which has rapidly transformed the way people communicate and stay connected. From an educational perspective, social networking sites have received ambiguous reviews. Some studies have shown that the use of FB is becoming more widespread in language learning and it can be an effective tool. FB is not only easy to use, but it also helps encourage autonomous learning within a social environment for students and puts control for learning into the students hands. This article focuses on the social networking site, FB, and WA application within the context of UT. It attempts to shed light on an information-sharing activity conducted via online discussion using FB and WA groups and involving distance learning students. This study investigated students participation in the online discussion and their feedback on the use of FBs and WAs forums as the platform for the activity.FB and WA were adopted for supporting an online tutorial at the Open University of Indonesia with a view to heighten tutorstudent and peer-based participation, and enhance pedagogical delivery and inclusive learning in formal and informal spaces. The findings suggest FB and WA transformed pedagogy by fostering social constructivist environments for tutorstudent and peer-based co-construction of knowledge. The teachers role was transformed from an instructor to a facilitator and mentor providing guidance on demand. Student roles were also transformed from information receivers to information generators, collaborators, information organizer/seekers/givers, critical thinkers and group leaders. However, the challenges of using Facebook and WhatsApp included tutor resentment of the merging of academic and family life occasioned by WhatsApp consultations after hours.

Abstract

Study program S1 Agriculture Extension and Communication (S1 Agribusiness) in Universitas Terbuka (UT) has been opened since 2004.Starting from 2012.2, Agribusiness Studies Program established practicum guide as a guidance for students that do their practicums indepedently. Thisstudy aims to get students perceptions of self practicum management regardingthe implementation o independent practicum guidanceand analyzethe constraintsthat existin the fieldexperienced bythe students. The survey was conducted on students who took practicum t during 2013.1 to 2014.2 regisration period. A survey was performed by a questionnaire. The questionnaire asks three aspects of practicumimplementation which arepracticum guidance aspect, material aspect and  of practical support services aspect. Students perceptions regardingpractical implementation arepositive, although there are a tendencies of students have difficulties understanding the practical guidelines. They feel the guideline as not systematic and lacking details.. The language used in the guideline regarded by most non-extension students as difficult to understand. Students expect thepractical guide to be more detailed and clear. They said that it would be easier if at any part of the report is written in great detail of what should they fill, there should be an explanation of how the repot will be rated.Although in generalstudents have positive perceptions, there were some studentshad dificulties in accessing practicalguidance, obtainingmaterialsand tools, and havingqualified and competent instructor. Anotherconstraint felt by most ofthe studentsis the marks sometimes received out of schedule. Mulai masa registrasi 2012.2 Program Studi Agribisnis Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Terbuka (FMIPA-UT) menerapkan pelaksanaan praktikum mandiri dan memberlakukan Panduan Pelaksanaan PraktikumMandiri yang dirancang sebagai panduan bagi peserta praktikum untuk melaksanakan praktikum secara mandiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan datapersepsi mahasiswa terhadap pedoman dan pelaksanaan praktikum mandiri, serta kendala-kendala di lapangan yang dialami oleh mahasiswa.Survei dilakukan terhadap mahasiswa yang mengambil praktikum pada masa registrasi 2013.1 sampai dengan 2014.2 dengan meminta mereka mengisi kuesioner. Kuesioner menanyakan tiga aspek dari pelaksanaan praktikum yaitu aspek pedoman praktikum, aspek materi praktikum dan aspek layanan penunjang praktikum. Persepsi mahasiswa terhadap pelaksanaan praktikum cukup positif, meskipun ada kecenderungan mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan memahami pedoman praktikum. Mereka merasakan panduan praktikum kurang sistematis dan detail. Bahasa yang digunakan dalam panduan oleh sebagian mahasiswa non penyuluh dianggap sulit dipahami. Mahasiswa mengharapkan panduan praktikum dibuat lebih detail dan jelas. Mereka mengatakan akan lebih mudah jika pada setiap bagian laporan dituliskan secara detail hal-hal yang harus mereka masukkan, jika perlu diberikan kisi-kisi penilaian laporan. Meskipun secara umum persepsi mahasiswa terhadap praktikum positif, namun masih ada sebagian mahasiswa yang mengalami kendala dalam hal mengakses panduan praktikum, memperoleh bahan dan alat praktikum serta tidak mudah mendapatkan instruktur yang kompeten. Kendala lain yang dirasakan sebagian besar mahasiswa adalah nilai praktikum yang tidak diterima sesuai jadwal.

Abstract

Perubahan fisika dan kimia dalam timbunan kompos diteliti selama proses pengomposan limbah pembuatan botol yang terkontaminasi oleh gemuk (grease). Temperature awal menunjukkan peningkatan diikuti oleh penurunan secara bertahap pada akhir proses pengomposan. C:N rasio dan bahan tambahan nampaknya mempunyai pengaruh yang paling nyata dalam memproduksi temperatur tinggi. Proses pengomposan selama lima (5) bulan tidak menghilangkan kontaminan sampai batas yang dipersyaratkan. Oleh karena itu diperlukan waktu tambahan guna mengurangi kontaminan sampai level yang ditetapkan. Proses pengomposan ini berhasil dalam menghasilkan temperatur yang meningkat, namun parameter yang menyebabkan kenaikan temperatur tersebut masih belum jelas.

Abstract

Growth media waste of white oyster mushroom cultivation can be used as ruminant feed. We observed the nutrient content of the growth media waste. The focus is on the protein, carbohydrate, mineral and crude fiber. The protein, calcium and phosphor content of white oyster mushroom growth media waste is higher than the protein content in the media before it was used for mushroom cultivation. However, the fat content is lower after the media was used than control (the media before it was used). The difference is caused by microorganism degradation. The growth media waste can be used as ruminant feed up to 75 % of total forage dry matter without any negative effect.

Abstract

Educators are always looking for interesting and innovative ways in which to improve the communications skills of their students and in communicating with their students. This is even more important when the students are studying online. Weblogs, originally a simple web browser based system for updating websites, have developed into powerful web based content management systems, capable of acting as a platform for learning that can accelerate the development of expertise learner behaviour. There is a trend to utilize the benefits of the e-learning as a mechanism to improve learning performance of campus-based students. Whilst traditional methods, such as face-to-face lectures, tutorials, and mentoring, remain dominant in the educational sector, universities are investing heavily in learning technologies, to facilitate improvements with respect to the quality of learning. This study explores into the role of weblogs in supporting teachers during their teaching practice and the key factors determining their engagement with weblogs. Underlying our study is an integrative approach that puts weblogs alongside with other popular media in use. An online community was intentionally built with weblogs to facilitate reflection and social interaction among dispersed teachers. In parallel, multiple channels of communication were employed for peer interaction of students. Weblogs were perceived as valuable in relieving isolation, documenting their experience, and expressing their personal feelings. This study sustains our conviction that the integrative approach is vital to have a comprehensive picture of interaction among a community. Our study deepens the insights into the distinct benefit of weblogs as educational media and informs the future development of an online community with weblogs. Weblogs provide a chance for students to experience writing in a public space where their work can have real value both for their classmates and for a wider community. This prepares students for a networked world where communication is essential and often social and where writing can have consequences.

Abstract

Waduk Diponegoro dibangun di Kali Krengseng/Seketak yang berada dalam wilayah Kampus Universitas Diponegoro dan Lokasinya kurang lebih 250 m sebelah utara Stadion UNDIP. Kali Krengseng/Seketak sampai pada lokasi Waduk Diponegoro memiliki luas daerah tangkapan air (DTA) sekitar 1024 Ha dengan panjang sungai ± 8 km, merupakan salah satu anak sungai Kali Pengkol. Sebagian berdasarkan pada prinsip kekekalan masa dan momentum, untuk mendapatkan jawaban yang baik tentang hubungan antara debit masuk kolam penampungan, perubahan level air di kolam penampungan/waduk, dan debit yang keluar dari waduk. Perhitungan penelusuran banjir di waduk sangat tergantung dari volume waduk per level atau karakteristik kolam penampungan, dimensi pelimpah waduk, operasional air di waduk bagi pemakai air dari waduk tersebut. Permasalahan yang dihadapi adalah bagaimana cara mengendalikan banjir yang terjadi pada saat musim penghujan dan pada saat musim kemarau tidak mengalami kekeringan. Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa penelusuran banjir aliran sehingga mengetahui efektifitas fungsi bendungan sebagai bangunan pengendali banjir. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Metode ini berupa pengumpulan data, analisis data, dan interpretasi hasil analisis untuk mendapatkan informasi guna pengambilan keputusan dan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil analisa mengenai banjir rencana Waduk Diponegoro dengan menggunakan metode Flood Routing, maka dapat menyimpulkan bahwa Waduk Diponegoro efektif sebagai pengendalian banjir dengan kala ulang 100 tahun, berdasarkan hasil penelusuran elevasi puncak bendungan mampu menurunkan debit banjir sebesar 33.799 m³/dt menjadi 20.597 m³/dt.

Abstract

This article examines estimates of crab catches on the Java Sea coast, with a focus on the case study of Kampung Bahari Tambak Lorok in Semarang. The research methods used include field surveys, catch data analysis, and statistical approaches to obtain a comprehensive picture of crab production in the region. The research results showed a significant decline in crab catches during a certain period, which was caused by various factors including climate change, human activities, and marine ecosystem dynamics. This research also investigates the phenomenon of “Ghost Fishing”, where nets left in the sea continue to catch fish by accident. The results of the analysis reveal that “Ghost Fishing” makes a non-negligible contribution to the decline in crab catches in the study area. Based on data from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Semarang, it is recorded that crab catches have decreased by 30% in the last five years. The implications of this decline in catches are debated in the context of marine resource conservation and sustainability planning for the crab fishing industry in Indonesia. This research makes an important contribution to the understanding of crab catch dynamics and highlights the need for sustainable marine resource management measures to ensure the future sustainability of the fishing industry. Abstract

The article aims to analyze the influence of third-party funds on the loan given to PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk Kanca Curup. The method used is multiple linear regression. Variables ? are the number of loans, savings, current accounts, and deposits. Research results show that the amount of funds raised, that is, current accounts, savings, and deposits in the future, positively and significantly influenced loans provided.? Deposits are the dominant factor that influences the size of the loan given. Thus, banks should pay more attention to the existence of third-party funds because this will affect their banking performance. Concrete steps that can be taken to increase the collection of third-party funds are improving services and introducing various types of banking service products with appropriate interest rates.

Abstract

In recent years, the widespread adoption of digital textbooks has revolutionized the way students access educational content. Technology has advanced quickly, and as a result, textbooks are now available to students worldwide in digital form, which has improved their overall academic performance. This modification is acceptable for the sustainable learning program, where students have access to materials from anywhere and at any time and digital textbooks promote online learning. This study intends to examine the variables influencing elementary distance learner students’ intentions to adopt digital textbooks. Structured equation modeling (SEM) was used to evaluate quantitative data from 316 higher education students in Indonesia. According to the findings, students' intentions to use digital books were positively impacted by facilitating condition (Conway & Huffcutt), performance expectancy (PE), self-efficacy (SE), and perceived learning opportunities (PLO). However, attitude, affective, ICT usage habits, effort expectancy, and social influences did not affect students’ intention to use digital textbooks. This research provides important information for the government, decision-makers, and schools on using digital textbooks at the tertiary level in the future.

Abstract

Rivers are one of the important water sources for life on earth. Both humans,animals and plants, all need water to maintain life. Rivers flow from upstream todownstream, moving from high places to low places. Microhydro, or MicrohydroPower Plant (PLTM), is a small-scale power plant that uses water power as itsdriving force, such as irrigation canals, rivers or natural waterfalls, by utilizing theheight of the waterfall (head) and the amount of water discharge. The Cianten Riverhas sufficient water potential throughout the year, reliable discharge, suitablecontours, and has been utilized for PLTM.Data collection techniques in this research include observation and data collectionin the field by observing and recording data on the area of each watershed and thearea of civil building planning. Several models used for hydrological analysis are theTank Model, FJ Mock Model, and Markov Lag 1 Model. Apart from that,researchers also carried out financial evaluations of Microhydro Power Plants(PLTM).The results obtained for the Cianten I PLTM scheme/layout include the dam andintake building, sand trap, waterway, headpond, penstock, powerhouse, and exhaustchannels (tailrace). The generation discharge that can be selected based on the plantfactor value is in the probability range of 35% - 55%. The Cianten I PLTM project isconsidered feasible to be realized if it is in a condition of normal value andincreasing benefits. Under normal conditions, financial analysis and sensitivityanalysis show the Project FIRR results are 9.88%, FIRR on Equity is 36.52%, NPVis IDR. 2,916,937,135, and a BCR of 1.03 with an investment payback period of10.87 years.
