Abstract

This paper aims to describe Sustainable Forest Management as alternative development to break forestdamaging which is caused by unenvironmental development, i.e.modernization. In fact, it is found thatin the activity of Sustainable Forest Management, the role of global actors still is dominated, mainly tocope iilegal logging and forest conservation and rehabilitation project, example in Industry PlantsForest. Besides that, their mission oriented to economic growth which sustaining of forest would beaffected to sustain global trading of forest commercial commodity. On this paper, the writer argument isthat environmental destroying has become globalization commodity. Therefore, Indonesia should beincrease its roles with engaged communities participation. Abstract

This studyexamines thequality ofpublic servicesin theBoard of InvestmentandLicensingServices(BPMP2T) Padang Town. The theoryis usedasa knifeanalysis in this studyisthe conceptofpublicservice, excellent serviceandquality of service. The approachusedinthisresearchisquantitativedescriptiveapproach. The research datawasobtainedthroughquestionnairesandobservationtechniques. The respondentsof this studyof 100people. Descriptively, the qualityof serviceinBPMP2TPadang Town is good. Somevariableshave astronginfluenceinthe quality of services, such asphysicalVisibilityvariable, reliability, responsiveness.Meanwhile, the variableability, decency, security, access, the quality of service,communicationandunderstandingisveryweak.

Abstract

The learning system at the Open University, both abroad and in Indonesia, there is a learning program that really demands student independence. This study aims to analyze the implementation of management policies of the management of the new scheme of study groups at the Open University of UPBJJ-UT Bengkulu and UPBJJ-UT Padang. The number of respondents in this study were 445 Bengkulu students and in Padang. The research data analysis used was the independent sample t-test. The collected data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software version 16.0 for Windows. The results of the first study, show that obtained F-count value 42,808 and sig value. 0,000 < 0,005. Second, the implementation of management policies has a t-count value of 6.872 and a sig value. 0,000 < 0,005. And finally, the implementation of management policies has a t-count value of 7.404 and a sig value. 0,000 < 0,005. Based on the results of the study indicate that the two regions still need supervision of the performance of the study group administrators at the Open University. Student satisfaction is considered to be lacking in POKJAR's performance. But in the category often and very often the UT Padang region is bigger than the UT Bengkulu region, this also shows that the oversight is still more than the Bengkulu Open University entity in carrying out its duties and authority as the management of the study group so that service to students is not constrained and students understand Open University procedures.

Abstract

The Dangau Datuk Bengkulu Agribusiness Vocational Middle School has practicum facilities for cultivating various types of vegetables, one of which is tomatoes, which are sold directly at outlets provided to meet the daily needs of students. However, the characteristics of agricultural products are not durable,perishable, and rotten if they are not immediately sold. This problem has attracted the interest of proposers to help introduce value added analysis through processing tomatoes into tomato sauce which of course can lasta long time, have added value and high selling value. Students and some teachers have received value-added introduction training through sauce processing, operational management, training on determining the cost ofgoods sold (HPP). The ratio of added value from processing tomatoes into tomato sauce is obtained by 40% and the added value is obtained by subtracting the output value from other input prices and the raw materialprice of Rp. 6,666.67, meaning that every 1 kg of tomatoes costs Rp. creating added value of Rp. 6,666.67, - per Kg after being processed into tomato sauce.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of indicators of student perceptions and participation in academic service assistance on student academic achievement at UPBJJ-UT Bengkulu. The research used descriptive method with a quantitative approach. sampling used the Slovin method with a total sample of 362 respondents. The research instrument used was questionnaire. The data analysis technique useed multiple linear regression which was further discussed descriptively. The results of the study showed the independent variables such as X1, X2, X3, X6, X9, X13, X20, X24, partially had a significant effect on the dependent variable (GPA). Other independent variables (X4, X5, X7, X8, X10, X11, X12, X14, X15, X16, X17, X18, X21, X22, X23) partially had no significant effect on the dependent variable (Student Achievement Index).

Abstract

Public services by the government in various sectors are sometimes perceived as not in line with public expectations. The purpose of this study was to analyze the quality of face-to-face tutorial services at Universitas Terbuka (UT) Regional Office in Bengkulu, using the Public Satisfaction Index (Indeks Kepuasan Masyarakat/IKM) method. This study used a quantitative descriptive approach. Data analysis techniques using the Public Satisfaction Index (IKM) approach, were calculated based on the weighted average value of each service element developed in the Regulation of Minister of State Aparatus and Bureaucratic Reform Number 16/2014. The findings of this study were that in general the assessment of public satisfaction index for Face to Face Tutorial held by UT Regional Office in Bengkulu obtained a Good Service criteria, with a Public Satisfaction Index value of 3.25 or converted to 81.16. It meant that the service performance was categorized as B (Good). Through continuous improvement, it was expected that the value of the Public Satisfaction Index (IKM) for Face-to-Face Tutorial services at UT’s Regional Office in Bengkulu can be maintained or improved in the following years.

Abstract

Many studies have analyzed the performance of government employees, but there is still little research on the relationship between equal employment opportunity and public service motivation. The purpose of this study was to examine whether equal employment opportunities affect individual job satisfaction and job performance. This study also evaluated whether the relationship is mediated by public service motivation. The survey research was implemented in the Bengkulu City Government to achieve the study objectives. There were 252 participants in this study who responded by completing an online questionnaire. The results of the structural equation modeling show that job satisfaction and individual job performance are equally influenced by job opportunities and public service motivation. In addition, the influence of equal employment opportunity on job satisfaction and individual job performance is mediated by public service motivation. The implications of this work on the theory and practice of human resource management in the public sector are outlined in the findings.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the development of tourist villages, especially from the perspective of public participation and tourism marketing. Bengkulu is one of the provinces in Indonesia that has natural beauty and attractive tourist destinations; however, the development of its tourist villages has not been optimal in order to improve the welfare of rural communities. From the results of the study, it is hoped that there will be a deep understanding of tourist villages and the problems they face. The method used is comprehensive and systematic qualitative research on the problems of developing tourist villages in Bengkulu. To obtain comprehensive information, interviews were conducted with competent sources in the field of tourism villages in Bengkulu. Research findings show that public participation and tourism marketing in Bengkulu are not as expected. On the other hand, unclear regulations and authority have hampered the implementation of tourism village development in Bengkulu. This article provides lessons on how to optimise public participation and market tourism in a tourist village optimally. Apart from that, it is important to increase cooperation between stakeholders so that tourism village problems can be addressed comprehensively. The author suggests optimising clarity in the management of tourist villages so that people do not find it difficult to participate. It is necessary to ensure that tourism marketing is carried out in a sustainable manner by paying attention to preserving the environment and local culture and providing benefits to local communities.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the program AKPMM (Alih Kredit Pengakuan Masa Mengajar, Credit Transfer Recognition Teaching Period) in improving the quality of long distance education in UPBJJ UT (ADivision of Long Distance Learning Program in the Open University). AKPMM program was evaluated from the dimensions of implementation, effectiveness, and program performance. The location of this research is in the UPBJJ UT Padang and Bengkulu. The sample in this study amounted to 210 students. Simple linear regression was used to test the relationship between the variables in this study. The results of this study indicate that the AKPPM program can be implemented better in UPBJJ UT Padang compared UPBJJ UT Bengkulu. In terms of ratios, the number of students who take the program AKPMM in the UPBJJ-UT Bengkulu larger than UPBJJ UT Padang. In terms of program evaluation, it was found that the program AKPMM more positively impact on the students in UPBJJ-UT Padang compared with the students in the UPBJJ-UT Bengkulu. Thisstudy also found that a significant difference among the implementation, evaluation, and effectiveness variables of AKPMM program in the Open University.
