This study is conducted to provide a very enjoyable teaching reference in order to improve English learning outcomes, especially in the speaking skills of English Department students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Lampung. The purpose of this study is to provide a fun learning solution through the social media platform Instagram so that students can be motivated to continue to carry out distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic so that there is an increase in learning outcomes to speak. This study puts forward a quantitative approach using the Quasi Experimental design method. The steps taken include: 1) giving a pre-test several times; 2) provide treatment; 3) give a pot-test several times. This research shows that Instagram can be an effective speaking learning media. This is evidenced by the acceptance of Ha in this study. Learning English during the pandemic is indeed a challenge for teachers and students. The boredom of studying at home is one of the causes of decreased learning achievement. The use of social media can be a solution to this problem. Instagram can be used as a fun learning medium (Fidian, 2017). Instagram provides learning motivation for students (Rohim, 2020). By using this social media, students' desire to learn increases. They can play while doing the teaching and learning process, especially learning English.

Speaking is the process of building and sharing meaning through the use of verbal and non-verbal symbols, in a variety of contexts. Low motivation in speaking will be formidable reality for the teacher. The students are often reluctant to speak because they are shy and are not predisposed to express themselves in front of other people, especially when they are being asked to give personal information or opinions. The type of this research is ethnography research (realist ethnography), but the research is not stop in Ethnography but it is followed with Research and Development (R&D). Both of them are included in Qualitative Research. Language teachers always develop speaking skills by using different techniques and strategies, the data indicated that the selected teachers were using the communicative approach, direct method, and audio-lingual method and others. The techniques mostly used were discussion, role play, oral report, questions and answers, conversation and debate. The way teachers assess students’ performance was effective.

This research is a qualitative research which aims to describe the state of the use of English in Indonesia, in terms of language status and its influence on Indonesian society. To realize the purpose of this paper, the authors collected several news stories from national websites (such as Republika, Tribun News, detikNews, ANTARA, and Tempo) regarding the use of English in Indonesia as data that is explained and interpreted by descriptive qualitative analysis. The results of the study show that English is common and has massive use, even though it is still a foreign language. In fact, English has moved to improve its linguistic status, namely starting to act as a second language and the language of instruction.

In this paper, the approach used is a sociological approach. The sociological approach is described by the plurality that is present in Indonesia within the framework of Bhineka Tunggal Ika and Pancasila as the nation's ideology. this paper uses qualitative research. In connection with the formulation of the question in this paper, what are the common causes of conflict between supporters of soccer teams in Indonesia, and after analyzing, explaining, and describing the facts obtained, the author can conclude that the theory of conflict or conflict with its three dimensions is effective for recognizing the behavior of conflicting individuals or groups. In this case, it is the supporters of the Indonesian teams. Then it can also be concluded that the proposed hypothesis can be justified, namely prestige, fanaticism, and revenge are common causes of conflict between groups supporting eleven teams in Indonesia.

There are three factors influence children in their daily communications. First is social distance, this factor shows the discrepancy of delivering their aims to older people and it affects impoliteness in communication, for instance, using Javanese word kowe to their parents. Then, in social interaction, the children assert their statement by adding some animal and impolite words to their friends, and they think it as trend in nowadays communication. The second factor is social power consists of four aspects; interlocutors’ position, age, gender, and language impairment. This factor is much influenced by education background and understanding of religion. The third is degree of imposition which explains children’s way of uttering their will. It shows that when children speak to friends or parents, they do not care their words and intonation.

Bahasa merupakan salah satu media untuk berkomunikasi. Orang tidak dapat berkomunikasi satu sama lain dan mengekspresikan ide-ide mereka tanpa bahasa. Bahasa Inggris adalah salah satu bahasa internasional. Jadi penting bagi kita untuk berkomunikasi dengan menggunakan bahasa Inggris. Dalam berkomunikasi dengan menggunakan bahasa Inggris kita harus menguasai tenses karena dengan menggunakan tenses yang tepat kita dapat membuat kalimat yang baik sehingga kita dapat berkomunikasi satu sama lain dengan lancar. Dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris khususnya tenses, guru membutuhkan media, teknik dan strategi yang baik karena memiliki pengaruh yang besar untuk membuat siswa lebih semangat dan termotivasi untuk mempelajari tenses. Dalam penelitian ini penulis memfokuskan pada penggunaan permainan yaitu Error Analysis Draw Game. Itu bisa meningkatkan dan meningkatkan penguasaan tenses siswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris. Setelah menganalisis data, penulis menemukan hasil rasio adalah 4,73 dan ttabel adalah 2,00 untuk taraf signifikan 5% (α=0,05) dan 2,66 untuk taraf signifikan 1% (α=0,01). Artinya tratio > ttabel, sehingga tratio lebih tinggi dari ttabel. Penulis menyimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif penggunaan Error Analysis Draw Game terhadap penguasaan tenses siswa

Pengucapan adalah cara bagaimana mengucapkan kata-kata dengan benar. Dalam mengajar pengucapan guru harus memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk aktif dalam proses belajar mengajar. Guru harus dapat memilih teknik yang tepat yang harus digunakan di dalam kelas. Menggunakan lagu adalah salah satu teknik dalam pengajaran pengucapan yang dapat memotivasi mereka untuk menyukai bahasa Inggris. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan pengaruh penggunaan lagu terhadap kemampuan pengucapan siswa. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan metode eksperimen kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah 89 siswa. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Penulis menggunakan dua kelas yaitu kelas 1O.1 dan 1O.2. Dalam menganalisis data penulis menggunakan tes. Tes yang dilakukan adalah tes lisan. Disini penulis menggunakan kuantitatif. t_cal= 2.73 dan untuk t_table 5%= 2.00 dan 1 % =2.66. Artinya t_(ratio )> t_table. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, penulis menyimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan lagu terhadap kemampuan pengucapan siswa.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran pengajaran keterampilan menulis dengan menggunakan inovasi metode Beyond Center dan Circle Time. Menggunakan metode Beyond Center dan Circle Time tentunya bisa menjadi cara yang efektif untuk siswa untuk mengajar dan belajar bahasa Inggris. Peneliti telah melakukan beberapa langkah pada siklus pertama. Yakni perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Pengamatan dilakukan pada siklus kedua. Semua kegiatan selama proses belajar mengajar telah diamati. Mereka adalah sebagai berikut: 1). Sebagian besar siswa termotivasi, antusias dan tertarik dengan proses pembelajaran, 2). Banyak siswa yang berpendapat bahwa metode beyond center dan circle time lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks naratif siswa, 3). Skor rata-rata dikategorikan berhasil. Berdasarkan perbandingan skor pretest dan posttest, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan antara sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan menggunakan inovasi Beyond Center and Circle Time (BBCT). Metode ini dinilai efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis peserta English Club di Universitas Muhammadiyah Lampung.

Grammar adalah kombinasi dari setiap elemen dalam bahasa yang harus diatur untuk menghasilkan kalimat yang baik, sehingga makna kalimat tersebut dapat dipahami oleh orang lain. Oleh karena itu, dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berbahasa, penguasaan tata bahasa sangatlah penting, sebagai pengetahuan dasar bahasa yang harus kita pelajari. Dengan mengetahui tata bahasa kita tahu bagaimana kalimat itu disusun dengan benar. Tata bahasa mengasumsikan peran logisnya sebagai salah satu dari beberapa batu fondasi yang mendukung komunikasi. Selain itu, gagasan bahwa bagian terpenting dari bahasa adalah tata bahasanya dan bahwa pembelajaran bahasa adalah akumulasi aturan tata bahasa yang dikuasai. Sayangnya penguasaan grammar masih dirasa sangat berat bagi sebagian besar orang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan referensi pengajaran grammar berbasis teknologi. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan menggunakan pendekatan times series design. Hasil Penelitian menunjukan adanya pengaruh positive terhadap penggunaan aplikasi English ultimate terhadap penguasaan grammar.

Reading is a crucial language skill that students must master to enhance their understanding and knowledge of various subjects. In terms of reading, various topics of text are very necessary for the language learners to make them becoming more knowledgeable. It is crucial to design reading materials which is attractive and interesting to attract students to read. This research aims to know exactly the story behind the Maimoon palace and to transcribe the story to the form of reading text. In order to conduct this research, interview method was used by the researchers to collect data. After conducting the research, there were several findings about the story of Maimoon palace from the source person in the Maimoon palace. Then, the result of interview was written in the form of story of the palace. Briefly, designing reading materials based on Maimoon palace will attract students to read the story in order to increase and enhance their reading skill and vocabulary.
