Abstract

Abstract The problem that occurs with the partners of this service activity is the lack of confidence from the Balikpapan Environmental Ambassadors. This is based on the limited knowledge about the concept of the environment in the city of Balikpapan. The need for personal branding training activities that are supported by qualified public speaking skills for the Balikpapan Environmental Ambassador forum as a debriefing before they enter the community to socialize the concept of the environment in Balikpapan City. Based on these problems, the solution offered in the implementation of this service activity is to provide personal branding training for the Balikpapan Environmental Ambassador Forum in disseminating environmental concepts in the city of Balikpapan. Materials that will be presented to the Balikpapan Environmental Ambassador Forum include strengthening personal branding supported by qualified public speaking skills and materials on Health, Safety, Work and Environment (K3LH). With the training, it is hoped that it can help the Balikpapan Environmental Ambassador Forum in strengthening personal branding which is supported by qualified public speaking skills in disseminating environmental concepts to the public Abstrak Masalah yang terjadi pada mitra kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah kurangnya kepercayaan diri dari para Duta Lingkungan Hidup Balikpapan. Hal ini didasari oleh keterbatasan pengetahuan tentang konsep lingkungan hidup yang ada di Kota Balikpapan. Perlunya kegiatan pelatihan personal branding yang didukung dengan kemampuan public speaking yang mumpuni bagi forum Duta Lingkungan Hidup Balikpapan sebagai pembekalan sebelum mereka terjun ke masyarakat untuk melakukan sosialisasi mengenai konsep lingkungan hidup di Kota Balikpapan. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut maka solusi yang ditawarkan pada pelaksanaan kegiatan Pengabdian ini yaitu dengan memberikan pelatihan personal branding bagi Forum Duta Lingkungan Hidup Balikpapan dalam mensosialisasikan konsep lingkungan hidup di Kota Balikpapan. Materi yang akan disampaikan kepada Forum Duta Lingkungan Hidup Balikpapan meliputi penguatan personal branding yang didukung dengan kemampuan public speaking yang mumpuni dan materi tentang Kesehatan, Keselamatan, Kerja dan Lingkungan Hidup (K3LH). Dengan adanya pelatihan diharapkan dapat membantu para Forum Duta Lingkungan Hidup Balikpapan dalam penguatan personal branding yang didukung dengan kemampuan public speaking yang mumpuni dalam mensosialisasi konsep lingkungan hidup kepada masyarakat

Abstract

ABSTRACT The partner community in the implementation of this community service is Pondok PesantrenAl-Mujahidin Km.10, Balikpapan. The aids service that have been given to this communityservices are module and trainer kit based on arduiono and also programming training withmikrokontroler. The process of this community service started with the designed the tools of the trainer KIT, then made trainer kit and learning module in order to make students easierlearning independently, and the last step was giving this tools for partner community that isthe head of Pondok Pesantrem Al-Mujahidin Km.10 Balikpapan. After that, did an evaluationto know the successful of this activity. In the preliminary of this community service, it will beheld the training for boarding students, however because of pandemic covid 19 which isstudents still off until the end of the year therefore the training was cancelled. Bantuan yang diberikan kepadamasyarakat mitra yaitu pemberian berupa modul dan trainer kit berbasis arduino pelatihanpemrograman dengan mikrokontroller dan. Langkah pelaksanaan dengan perancangan alattrainer kit, selanjutnya membuat trainer kit serta modul pembelajaran untuk memudahkansiswa dalam belajar mandiri dan tahapan terakhir dilakukan serah terima alat kepadamasyarakat mitra dalam hal ini pimpinan Pondok Pesantren Al-Mujahidin Km. 10 Balikpapanserta dilakukan evaluasi untuk mengetahui keberhasilan dari kegiatan ini. Rancangan awalkegiatan PKM ini juga akan melakukan kegiatan pelatihan terhadap siswa pesantren namunkarena kondisi pandemi covid-19 dimana siswa masih sementara diliburkan sampai akhirtahun sehingga kegiatan pelatihan ini ditiadakan. Abstract

Balikpapan State Polytechnic seeks to support the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through the development of renewable energy sources. This is realized in the installation of solar powered Public Street Lighting (PJU) lamps installed at 11 locations. From this research, 11 locations for solar street street installations have been determined on a 250 meter long road using 12V24W DC lights. Energy storage obtained from solar cells using a 50Ah capacity battery to capture solar energy using 100 wattpeak solar panels. From this research, it was found that the distance between poles was 8.6 meters, and the distance between poles from the road shoulder was 2.036 meters.

Abstract

Wind energy is renewable energy that is clean, environmentally friendly and easy to obtain. Balikpapan City is very suitable for applying the Savonius wind turbine because it has a relatively low average wind speed. Savonius wind turbine is a turbine consisting of two concave and convex blades that work based on drag forces. Savonius wind turbine can utilize wind energy at low speed 2 m/s to be converted into electrical energy which can reduce the electrical load in urban areas. This research makes a prototype of the Savonius wind turbine with the addition of variations extra layer on the concave turbine blades. The test method uses a generator that is attached to the turbine shaft and the test is carried out in a multi-storey building area. The results obtained are the Savonius wind turbine prototype capable of producing actual power 0.76 Watt and power coefficient is 0.082. The addition of an extra layer at both tips of the turbine concave blades is proven to be able to improve the performance of the Savonius wind turbine.

Abstract

Currently, the dominance of electricity in Indonesian providers comes from fossil energy which has the potential to increase the average temperature in various parts of the world or is called global warming. The contribution of the national renewable energy potential mix in 2016 ranging from 6.27%, then reaching 11.28% in 2020. The Government has made a long-term plan for the national renewable energy mix to reach 25% in 2025 and 31% in 2050. One of the renewable energy sources is wind energy, which is usually built on a large scale and is separated from settlements so that a long distribution network is required. Conversely, on a small scale, wind energy can be utilized with a simpler distribution network, this concept is called Small Wind Turbine. For a good wind turbine is designed according to the wind characteristics in real-time, so it is necessary to study wind mapping. This research was conducted as a prelude to observing wind characteristics in the form of mapping wind speed and direction in real-time in the northern part of Balikpapan City Region, using the Automatic Weather Station instrument which was carried out August 6 to September 26, 2022. Data processing in this study using the Weibull distribution method with Microsoft Excel. This study shows an average speed of 1.118 m/s in wind conditions with high wind variability with strong gusts, with a power density value of 1.157 Watts/m2. The wind direction tends to be east after the wind gusts are blocked by the building profile.

Abstract

Leftover banana peels and orange peels are organic waste that can be used as a raw material for alternative energy in the form of biobriquettes. The high consumption of bananas and oranges in Balikpapan City has led to an increase in the amount of fruit peel waste, necessitating efforts to utilize this waste in a more optimal and environmentally friendly manner. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of biobriquettes made from banana peels and orange peels based on their calorific value, water content, and ash content, in accordance with SNI No. 1/6235/2000 standards. The research method employed was an experimental approach, utilizing varying particle sizes of 60 and 80 mesh, varying amounts of tapioca starch adhesive of 5% and 10%, and varying molding pressures of 2 tons and 4 tons. The stages of briquette production include drying, carbonization, charcoal refining, filtering, mixing the adhesive, molding, and re-drying. The study results showed that the best variation was obtained in 80 mesh briquettes with 5% adhesive and 4 tons of pressure, resulting in a calorific value of 6188.7 Cal/g, a moisture content of 6.27%, and an ash content of 7.42%. These results indicate that finer particles and higher molding pressure can improve briquette quality, as they produce a denser and more homogeneous structure, resulting in a more efficient combustion process. Meanwhile, excessive use of adhesive results in increased moisture and ash content and reduces the briquette’s calorific value. The results indicate that banana and orange peel waste have promising potential to be developed as a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative energy source.

Abstract

Program pemeriksaan undercarriage harus dilakukan pada unit alat berat khususnya yang menggunakan crawler. Program pemeriksaan undercarriage adalah pekerjaan pengukuran terhadap komponen undercarriage dengan tujuan dapat menghitung keausan dan mengetahui umur pakai komponen tersebut. Kondisi yang terjadi dilapangan dengan menggunakan perhitungan manual, pekerja sering kali mengalami permasalahan saat melakukan pekerjaan tersebut, yakni waktu yang dibutuhkan relatif lama..dan nilai yang dihasilkan kurang tingkat akurasinya.  Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk membuat sebuah aplikasi kalkulator untuk mempermudah dan mempersingkat waktu saat melakukan perhitungan wear rate dan hour left pada komponen…undercarriage excavator...dan…bulldozer, sehingga pekerjaan program pemeriksaan undercarriage lebih efektif dan efisien. Aplikasi android kalkulator undercarriage menggunakan framework flutter dart dan android studio. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder yang bersumber dari berbagai literatur dan referensi terkait. Proses pengembangan aplikasi dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan sistematis, meliputi pengumpulan data, perancangan, pemrograman, pengujian, hingga analisis hasil performa aplikasi. Adapun aplikasi kalkulator undercarriage berbasis Android ini dirancang agar dapat dioperasikan secara optimal pada perangkat smartphone dengan sistem operasi serupa. Hasil pengujian yang dilakukan adalah dengan menggunakan aplikasi kalkulator undercarriage memiliki efisiensi waktu 1000% dibandingkan dengan perhitungan secara manual.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penyebab kebocoran oli pada sisi belakang engine pada unit excavator Komatsu PC 2000-8. Kebocoran oli pada sistem pelumas dapat menyebabkan penurunan kinerja engine dan kerusakan pada komponen lainnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian lapangan dengan melakukan identifikasi penyebab, pengamatan dan diagnosis, pengumpulan data, analisis, penyebab yang dicurigai, kesimpulan, dan tindakan perbaikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyebab utama kebocoran sistem pelumasan pada sisi belakang engine dikarenakan terjadi contact surface pada sleeve rear seal yang mengalami keausan, sehingga dapat yang mengakibatkan kebocoran oli engine ke dalam sistem PTO. Dengan perbaikan pada komponen yang sesuai standar, kebocoran sistem lubrikasi ini dapat diatasi dan diminimalisasi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul “Analisis External Leak pada komponen Differential HD785-7 di PT BUMA (BRC)”, yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyebab terjadinya external leak pada komponen differential Komatsu HD785-7 dan mengetahui tindakan yang tepat untuk mencegah terjadinya external leak. Metode analisis yang digunakan meliputi analisis visual, analisis trend, dimension inspection, dan perbandingan dengan standard pabrik. Berdasarkan hasil analisis trend, terjadi 14 kali kejadian kebocoran eksternal pada differential diseluruh job site PT BUMA. Hasil analisis visual, ditemukan kebocoran pada seal oil. Hasil dimension inspection pada komponen coupling differential, ditemukan bahwa coupling mengalami keausan di bagian sisi distance coupling dan tidak terdapat pengukuran dimensi coupling terhadap ukuran standard dari pabrik di QA sheet BRC. Dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penyebab terjadinya external leak, karena keausan dari bagian coupling differential yang diakibatkan pemakaian berulang /part reuse yang dilakukan secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This research is based on obtaining the best possible aerodynamic performance for the Quickster Narasena Bengawan UV Team Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) aircraft wing design. One factor that significantly affects the flying version of a UAV is the wing. The Quickster Narasena UAV aircraft wing uses an MH33 airfoil because MH33 is specifically for high-speed UAV aircraft. This research will compare the performance of a branch without a vortex generator with addition with a vortex generator. This study will also discuss variations in the positioning of the vortex generator on the wing of the Quickster Narasena UAV. The method used in this research is the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method. The simulation process will use the ANSYS Fluent 19.0 application with the K-Omega Shear Stress Transform (SST) method with the Reynolds-Averaged-Navier-Stokes (RANS) equation as the basis. This study aims to obtain the results of the coefficient of drag, lift, and the contour of the turbulence that will occur. The simulation results that have been done are the geometry of the wing with the addition of a vortex generator can reduce the drag coefficient and can increase the lift coefficient.
