Abstract

The mathematical communication abilities of students play a significant role in understanding and conveying mathematical concepts. This study aims to compare the implementation of three instructional models, namely the Role-Playing Model with GeoGebra assistance, the Role-Playing Model, and the Direct Instruction Model, on students' mathematical communication abilities in solving PISA-equivalent problems. The research method employed is quantitative with a Quasi-Experimental design using the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population of this study consists of eighth-grade students at MTs Nurul Huda. Sample selection was conducted using purposive sampling. The sample consists of three classes: VIII B (experimental class 1) with 24 students, VIII C (experimental class 2) with 23 students, and VIII A (control class) with 20 students. The research instruments comprise pretest and posttest tests to measure students' mathematical communication abilities in solving PISA-equivalent problems. Additionally, observation sheets for teachers and students were used as non-test instruments. Quantitative data analysis was performed using parametric statistics for the balance test, namely a one-way ANOVA with the prerequisite of normality and homogeneity tests. The results of the analysis indicate that the Role-Playing Model with GeoGebra assistance is superior in improving students' mathematical communication abilities in solving PISA-equivalent problems compared to the other two instructional models.

Abstract

Problem-solving abilities are essential for students to face developments in the 21st century. This research examines students' problem-solving abilities in solving ethnomathematics-based problems in terms of Keirsey's personality type. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The research instrument is a questionnaire to measure Keirsey's personality type (artisan, guardian, idealist, and rational), an ethnomathematics-based problem-solving test instrument with the Polya problem-solving stages. Research subjects were chosen based on specific considerations: students with artisan, guardian, idealist, and rational personality types. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires, tests, and interviews. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that each student with a different personality type had different problem-solving abilities. Students with a rational personality type can fulfill all stages of Polya problem-solving in each problem. Students with the guardian personality type skip checking back on a problem. Students with an artisan personality type lack planning. Meanwhile, students with an idealistic personality type cannot fulfill the problem-solving stages in all problems. These findings emphasize differences in problem-solving abilities for each personality type, so they can be used as a reference for designing learning based on personality type.

Abstract

Investasi merupakan strategi penting bagi investor untuk mencapai tujuan keuangan dan masa depan yang lebih cerah. Investasi di Indonesia berkaitan erat dengan Jakarta Composite Index (JKSE). Indeks harga saham berfluktuasi dari waktu ke waktu yang ditunjukkan oleh nilai volatilitas. Resiko fluktuasi Jakarta Composite Index (JKSE) dapat diminimalisir dengan melakukan lindung nilai. Lindung nilai terhadap indeks harga saham dapat dilakukan dengan berbagai cara, salah satunya dengan menggunakan instrumen derivatif. Terdapat beberapa instrumen derivatif termsuk kontrak futures, forward, dan opsi. Dalam penelitin ini, instrumen derivatif yang digunakan adalah kontrak opsi yang disusun untuk membangun strategi butterfly spread dan condor spread. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data adjusted close price Jakarta Composite Index (JKSE). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi butterfly call spread menghasilkan keuntungan maksimum lebih besar dan kerugian lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan condor call spread, sehingga strategi butterfly call spread adalah strategi yang lebih baik dari pada strategi condor call spread dalam lindung nilai indeks saham JKSE. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa investor sebaiknya memilih strategi lindung nilai yang lebih optimal, seperti butterfly call spread, untuk meminimalkan risiko dan meningkatkan kinerja portofolio pada pasar saham JKSE, dengan tetap mempertimbangkan kondisi pasar dan tujuan investasi.

Abstract

Analisis survival digunakan untuk mengevaluasi durasi waktu dari awal pengamatan hingga terjadinya suatu peristiwa, seperti kesembuhan atau kematian. Penelitian ini memfokuskan pada pasien insufficiencia cordis. Analisis dilakukan dengan pendekatan parametrik (regresi Weibull) serta semi-parametrik (Cox Proportional Hazard). Model regresi Weibull menjadi model terbaik dengan nilai AIC 127,50 dan MSE 0,5071. Variabel signifikan yang memengaruhi analisis survival pada penelitian ini adalah age, ejection fraction, serum sodium, platelets, dan serum creatinine. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi signifikan bagi dunia medis dan industri asuransi, memungkinkan identifikasi faktor risiko yang lebih akurat dan mendukung pengambilan keputusan dalam strategi penanganan medis serta penetapan premi asuransi yang berbasis risiko.
