Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Theory Planned of Behavior model using Structural Equation Modeling and analyze the factors that influence household behavior in electricity consumption in West Java. The data used in this study are secondary data on electricity consumption in lighting equipment obtained from the Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation database in 2016. The results showed that behavioral intention and control had a positive and significant effect on behavior, then behavior control had a positive and significant effect. significant on intention. While subjective attitudes and norms do not significantly influence intention. The indicators that influence a person's behavior factors in saving electrical energy in lighting equipment are individual self-awareness to use household appliances that are labeled energy efficient, lifestyle of individuals who often fill their time for cooking activities at home, gathering with friends and family, visiting market, stamp collection, and individuals who work as volunteers, participate in community activities, and gardening.

Abstract

Background: Enhalus acoroides (seagrass) possesses valuable bioactive compounds, including quercetin, with potential therapeutic applications, notably antidiabetic effects. However, the poor solubility and low bioavailability of compounds like quercetin limit their clinical efficacy. Phytosomes, phospholipid-based nanocarriers, represent a promising strategy to overcome these limitations. This study aimed to develop and characterize E. acoroides extract-loaded phytosomes to enhance its potential bioavailability. Methods: E. acoroides was collected, processed, and extracted using ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE). Total phenolic (TPC) and flavonoid content (TFC) were determined. Phytosomes were prepared using the thin-layer hydration method with varying extract-to-soya lecithin ratios (F1=1:1, F2=1:2, F3=1:3). Characterization involved particle size analysis, zeta potential measurement, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), entrapment efficiency (EE%) determination via HPLC, and in vitro dissolution studies. Results: The UAE extract yielded TPC of 0.318 ± 0.036 mg GAE/g and TFC of 1.023 ± 0.022 mg QE/g. Phytosome formulation F1 (1:1 ratio) exhibited optimal characteristics: particle size of 276.4 nm, PDI of 0.591, zeta potential of -18.0 mV, EE% of 80.47 ± 2.62%, and a spherical morphology. FTIR confirmed complexation. F1 phytosomes demonstrated significantly enhanced dissolution, releasing 87.13% of the entrapped compound over 12 hours compared to the crude extract. Conclusion: E. acoroides extract was successfully encapsulated into phytosomes using a thin-layer method. The F1 formulation (1:1 extract:phospholipid ratio) demonstrated favorable physicochemical properties (nanoparticle size, moderate stability, high EE%) and markedly improved in vitro dissolution, suggesting enhanced bioavailability potential for E. acoroides phytoconstituents.

Abstract

The article “Scratch vs Excel: Enhanching Math Problem-Solving and Student Confidence” is a study to compare the differences in the improvement of the ability of mathematical problem-solving and student self-confidence in learning mathematics by using Scratch and Microsoft Excel applications. This study used a quasi-experimental design with the research subjects of class XII MIPA at one of the high schools in Garut Regency which was selected based on purposive sampling. Data collection methods include tests, questionnaires, and observations. Data analysis techniques include descriptive statistics, normalized Gain and two-sample independent test to test the difference in improvement (N-Gain) between two groups.  This study can answer the need for a learning approach that is more effective and relevant to the conditions of students, focusing on two aspects, namely cognitive (problem-solving ability) and affective (self confidence). In this study, it was found that there were differences in the improvement of the ability of mathematical problem-solving and self-confidence between students who used interactive learning media Scratch application and Microsoft Excel. Scratch was shown to provide better improvement in mathematical problem-solving ability and self confidence, compared to Excel. This suggests that animation/visual-based interactive media can increase students’ motivation and understanding.

Abstract

Moral degradation among elementary school students is a growing concern in the digital and globalized era. Behaviors such as declining respect for teachers, poor discipline, and reduced social empathy reflect a weakening internalization of moral values. This study aims to describe the forms of moral degradation observed among students at SDN 122 Cijawura Bandung and to analyze the strategic role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in addressing these issues. The research uses a qualitative case study approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that PAI plays a vital role in character development through an integrative approach encompassing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. PAI teachers act as role models, facilitators, and spiritual mentors by employing contextual teaching methods, organizing religious activities such as Qur'an recitation and congregational prayers, and reinforcing moral values through daily interactions. Despite challenges such as limited instructional time and the pervasive influence of unsupervised digital media, the strategies implemented by teachers show a gradual positive impact on students’ behavior. The study recommends fostering synergy between schools, teachers, and parents to build an educational ecosystem that supports the development of noble character from an early age.
