Abstract

An intensive research about the application of Oil palm frond (OPF) organic fertilizer on paddy rice and soybean had been done for consecutive three years. The crops showed better growth and yield by years by OPF organic fertilizer compared to farmyard manure and chemical fertilizer. This finding was due to the adequate nutrient contents in OPF organic fertilizer which consist of more than 4% of N, P and K as required by national organic standard (SNI). However, the C/N ratio was rather high which more than 25%. This research aimed to evaluate new formulations of OPF organic fertilizer with the intention of finding ideal C/N ratio as required by SNI. In order to meet this objective, the study was conducted by mixing OPF chopped with various high N content organic materials. The best formulation was mixing of OPF chopped with oil palm leaves, farmyard manure and fish waste liquid fertilizer. The N content in this new formulation was 2.10% which was higher than previous OPF formulation 1.52%. Thus the C/N ratio became much lower in new formulation compared to previous one, 13.83% and 35.96% consecutively.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the right planting distance for the growth and results plant of local upland rice in Bengkulu, find the local upland Bengkulu rice lines that provide optimal growth and results, and find out the good planting distance for each Bengkulu upland rice lines for optimal growth and results. This study uses a Split Plot design inside RKAL two treatments and three replications. The main plot treatment of the two levels is lines UNHZ 31 and lines UNHZ 12. And three-stage plot treatment is planting distance 25 x 25 cm, planting distance 30 x 30 cm, and planting distance 35 x 35 cm. The results of the analysis of variance were continued with a significantly different test at the levels 5 % and 1 %. The parameters observed were plant height, the total number of tillers, panicle length, number of productive tillers, age of flowering 80 %, age of harvest, the weight of 100 grains, grain weight per clump, grain weight per plot, the weight of wet crop and weight of the dry crop. The results significantly affected grain weight per clump, wet crop weight, and dry crop weight. Significantly affected plant height 4 MST, 6 MST, 8 MST, 10 MST, post-harvest, total number of tillers 8 MST, 10 MST, and productive tillers. Not significantly affected plant height 2 MST, the total number of tillers 6 MST, panicle length, flowering age 80 %, harvest age, weight of 100 grains, and grain weight per plot. Treatment of 35 x 35 cm spacing and lines UNHZ 12 showed the best results on each observation but not cumulative.

Abstract

Oil palm fronds have huge potential to be developed as a source of organic fertiliser by chopping hard frond to become soft smooth pieces and ready to be proceed in bokashi fertilising system. This research aimed to evaluate the application of oil palm frond organic fertiliser on soybean growth and yield compared to cow manure and chemical fertilisers. Three levels of Nitrogen were applied 60, 90 and 120 kg of N/ha. This study had been done in Padang Rambun village, Seluma District, Bengkulu Province under wet land rice field condition and using rice-soybean rotation. Split plot design and least significant design (LSD) 5% were applied to analyse the data. The results showed that kinds and dosage levels gave very significant effect to all parameters but there was no significant effect between them. LSD analysis proved that oil palm frond organic fertiliser was better than manure bokashi in term of plant height and number of pods but had no significant effect on weight of seeds per plot. Furthermore, increasing of nitrogen level improved growth and yield of soybean meaning that the dosage given did not meet the optimum level for soybean growth and yield.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengamati hama dan penyakit penting yang muncul dalam budidaya Kubis bunga di dataran rendah dalam berbagai perlakuan dosis pupuk kandang dan pupuk kimia. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni sampai September 2014, di Balai Pengkajian Teknologi Pertanian (BPTP) Bengkulu dengan ketinggian tempat ± 12 m dpl. Perlakuan pemupukan yanng diberikan adalah : Perlakuan sebagai berikut : P0 = Kontrol, P1 = 0 pupuk kandang + 6 g/polybag pupuk NPK (400 kg/ha) P2 = 150 g/polybag pupuk kandang (10 ton/ha) + 4,5 g/polybag pupuk NPK (300kg/ha), P3 = 300 g/polybag pupuk kandang (20 ton/ha) + 3 g/polybag pupuk NPK (200 kg/ha), P4 = 450 g/polybag pupuk kandang (30 ton/ha) + 1,5 g/polybag pupuk NPK (100 kg/ha), P5 = 600 g/polybag pupuk kandang (40 ton/ha) + 0 pupuk NPK. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hama yang muncul menyerang tanaman adalah Hama Chrysodeixis chalcites (Esp.) dan hama Plutella maculipennis. Penyakit yang muncul adalah Penyakit busuk hitam yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Xanthomonas campestris Dows. Perlakuan yang memberikan hasil terbaik dimana tidak terdapat serangan hama maupun penyakit tanaman adalah perlakuan P3 = 300 g/polybag pupuk kandang (20 ton/ha) + 3 g/polybag pupuk NPK (200 kg/ha). Abstract

The availability of farm inputs which can be gotten easily, cheaply at anytime is one of important keys to successful of organik agriculture practice. Organik fertilizer which is made of fronds of oil palm, or we call it POPS fertilizer, is an alternative fertilizer that fulfill that expectation. There are at least four advantages of using fronds as source of organik fertilizer are available in abundant amounts, very cheap or even free, as product product and could be chop by using chopper machine. A research had been done in irrigated wetland field located in Padang Rambun village in Seluma District, Bengkulu Province from January to May 2018. A split plot design was used to analyze three kinds of fertilizers were POPS, cow manure bokashi and anorganik fertilizers and three levels of nitrogen dosages were 120, 90 and 60 kg/ha. The results showed that POPS fertilizer gave the best rice performances on height, number of tillers, number of productive tillers and yield (6.81 ton/ha). In addition, the highest dosage provided best yield by 6.69 ton/ha. Finally, the rice productivity has consistently increased since the first year of POPS fertilizer application.

Abstract

This experiment aims to determine the effect of the herbicide Unihaz formulation on 30 types of weeds that are dominant in agricultural land. The target weeds consist of 10 types of grass weeds, 10 types of nut weeds and 10 types of broadleaf weeds. The tested weeds were sprayed with a herbicide of Unihaz formulation at a dose of 50 l / ha. The results of the study concluded that the herbicide of formulation Unihaz was effective in controlling the 10 weeds of the types of grass, namely Paspalum cunjugatum, Ischaemum timorence, Chrisopogon aciculatus, Brachiaria pospoloides, Echinochloa crus-galli, Imperata cylindrica, Axonopus compressus, Ischaemum globosa, and Cyrtococum oxyphyum. This herbicide was also effective in controlling the 10 weeds of the nut species, namely Cyperus brevifolius, Cyperus trachysanfos, Fimbristylis globulosa, Scleria sumatrensis, Cyperus aromaticus, Cyperus diformis, Scirpus mucronatus, Rhynchospora crystilis, Cyperus digitarius, and Fimbristylis malaceae. The herbicide of formulation Unihaz effectively controls eight types of broadleaf weeds, namely Urena lobota, Helyotis verticilata, Crassocephalum crapidiodes, Emilia sonchifolia, Asystasia intrusa, Mikania cordata, Hyptis suaveolens, and Borreria alata, and was not very effective in controlling the weeds Clidemia hirta, and Melastoma malabatricum.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to now effects of bokashi formulation made of cow manure and empty oil palm fruit bunches from SISKA Bengkulu on immature oil palm plants which had been done on January to Oktober 2016 in Babatan village, Sukaraja sub-distric, Seluma distric, Bengkulu Province.This is the second year of two years research planning funded by Hibah Bersaing with the title of Formulation of Bokashi of Cow manure and empty oil palm fruit bunches from SISKA Bengkulu on Sustainable Oil Palm.This research used Randomized Complate Block Design (RCBD) to evaluate 6 treatment were F0 = control; F1 = cow manure; F2 = 1/3 of cow manure + 2/3 of empty fruit bunch; F3 = = 1/2 of cow manure + 1/2 of empty fruit bunch; F4 == 2/3 of cow manure + 1/3 of empty fruit bunch; and F5 = empty fruit bunch.The study concluded that 1.The treatment of bokashi of cow manure and empty oil palm fruit bunches from SISKA Bengkulu had very significant affects on the production of fresh fruit bunches at 4 -8 months after fertilizer application, where F0 treatment (control) to produce fresh fruit bunches high of 72.17 kg per plant, significantly different from the treatment of F1 = 11.5 kg per plant, F2 = 38.33 kg per plant, F3 = 27.83 kg per plant, F4 = 22.83 kg per plant, and F5 = 27.33 kg per plant. 2. The treatment of bokashi of cow manure and empty oil palm fruit bunches from SISKA Bengkulu had very significant affects on the production of fresh fruit bunches at 4 -8 months after fertilizer application where F0 treatment (control) produced 72.17 kg of fresh fruit bunches per plant, no significant different from the treatment of F1 = 70.17 kg per plant, F2 = 82.83 kg per plant, F3 = 72.0 kg per plant, and F4 = 87.92 kg per plant, illustrating that bokashi fertilizer waste SISKA with various formulas can replace the use of chemical fertilizers, even significantly treatment F5 able to produce fresh fruit bunches higher than the F0 which could reach 128.17 kg per plant.Keywords : Bokashi, fresh fruit bunches , cow manure,Siska Bengkulu

Abstract

The administration of organic fertilizer to provide nutrients for plants is insufficient. It is because organic fertilizers contain low nutrients. Thus, plants need more nutrients that are obtainable from the administration of inorganic fertilizers. This research aimed to find: the effects of the best types of organic fertilizers on the growth and yields of cucumbers; the effects of the dose of NPK compound fertilizers on the growth and yields of cucumber; and the effects of interaction between the various types of organic fertilizer and the dose of NOK compound fertilizers on the growth and yields of cucumber. This research used Factorial Randomized Block Design with three replications. The first factor was the Various Types of Organic Fertilizers consisting of Without Organic Fertilizers, Goat Manure, and Petrogranik Organic Fertilizers. The second factor was the dose of NPK compound fertilizers of 200, 250, and 300 kg/ha. Analysis of variance was then performed and followed by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Research results indicated that the treatment with various types of organic fertilizers provided significant effects on all observed variables; in the treatment with the Dose of NPK compound fertilizers provided significant effects on the plant and fruit weights and did not provide significant effects on other variables; interaction of various types of organic fertilizers and the dose of NPK compound fertilizers did not provide significant effects on all observed variables; Various types of organic fertilizer, such as goat manure provided the best growth and yields; the Dose of NPK compound fertilizers of 250kg/ha provided the best growth and yields of cucumbers.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to now affects of bokashi formulation made of cow manure and empty oil palm fruit bunches from SISKA Bengkulu on immature oil palm plants which had been done on January to September 2015 in Bumi Ayu village, Slebar sub-distric, Bengkulu Province.This research used Randomized Complate Block Design (RCBD) to evaluate 6 treatment were F0 = control; F1 = cow manure; F2 = 1/3 of cow manure + 2/3 of empty fruit bunch; F3 = = 1/2 of cow manure + 1/2 of empty fruit bunch; F4 == 2/3 of cow manure + 1/3 of empty fruit bunch; and F5 = empty fruit bunch.The results showed that the treatment of bokashi of cow manure and empty oil palm fruit bunches from SISKA Bengkulu had no significant affects on soil pH and changeable Al but had sicnificant effects on N, P, K, and Mg nutrients of immature oil palm plants. Control treatment (F0) = synthetic fertilizer applied at normal rate, showed the highest increasing of N,P,K, and Mg nutrient, It was sicnificantly different from all other treatments for further research (F1, F2, F3, F4, and F5), it is recommended to see the effects of fertilizing residue on the next 6 months which will be done on March 2016 to get formulation can substitute synthetic fertilizer on immature oil palm plants.Keywords: Bokashi, Tandan Kosong Sawit, kotoran sapi Siska Bengkulu
