Abstract

Nyirih tradition is one of popular traditions in Indonesia, a country with a diverse ethnic groups, cultures, and languages. The traditions are potential to be explored and used as contextual learning materials. This research aims to analyze the relationship between science (physics, biology, and chemistry) on the use of Betel leaf in the Nyirih tradition. This research used an ethnoscience approach, an approach which raises various cultures in a society to become a science learning topic, so that it would be easier for students to integrate various material in science learning with the real-life  contexts. It was a qualitative research using the study literature type which consists of several steps, namely: (1) determining the topic, (2) gathering materials as references, (3) making an introduction, (4) determining the method, (5) discussing the findings, and (6) making a conclusion. The results suggest that the use of Betel leaf in Nyirih tradition could become an interesting topic in explaining several concepts in science.

Abstract

Endophytic bacteria are able to produce bioactive compounds that are important for applications in the medical field. This study aims to isolate, identify and test the antibacterial activity of endophytic bacteria from the bark of Plumeria acuminata growing in the Mataram area. Isolation was carried out using four types of media, namely NA, TSA, MAC, and BHI. The well diffusion technique was used to test the inhibitory ability of the endophytic bacterial extract against the test pathogenic bacteria. The four test bacteria used were S. aureus, B. cereus, P. aeruginosa, K. pneumoniae. Isolates that showed inhibitory activity were then identified morphologically, biochemically and molecularly based on the 16S rRNA gene. The results of the isolation process obtained 35 colonies. where 9 of them inhibit the growth of test bacteria. There were 2 isolates that able to inhibit the growth of 4 types of test bacteria with an average clear zone diameter of very strong category (21–30 mm), namely isolates T1 and T2. The N2 isolate had the highest average inhibition zone compared to all isolates of endophytic bacteria, which was 32 mm, but was specific for P. aeruginosa. Two isolates, namely B1 and M3 gave various growth inhibitory effects with strong to very strong categories. Other isolates showed various antibacterial effects against at least 2 types of test bacteria. S. aureus was the most resistant pathogenic bacteria to the treatment of endophytic bacterial isolate extract. The cell shape of all endophytic isolates was streptobacillus with or without spores, and 50% of them were Gram-positive. Molecular identification based on the 16S rDNA gene grouped the 9 isolates into 2 main clusters, namely the genus Bacillus and the genus Pseudomonas. Isolates that were closely related to the genus Bacillus showed higher inhibitory activity than those of Pseudomonas. The results showed that isolates of endophytic bacteria from the bark of P acuminata have the potential as an important source of antibacterial substances.

Abstract

The demands of globalization and the change of educational paradigms, bringing new policies in the field of education in Indonesia, namely the application of the curriculum MBKM (Merdeka Learning Kampus Merdeka), with the main characteristic is project-based learning that aims to develop soft skills and build the character of student profile Pancasila on pupils. In addition, today's science learning is still faced with challenges and problems, which are caused by the lack of participation of students in the learning process, lack of motivation and interest of students to learn science, inadequacy of learning materials with the needs and environment of students, inappropriate learning methods, as well as non-variative and innovative learning resources such as lack of use of tools. Then to solve this problem one of the ways you can do is by giving training to make science gear. So, the purpose of this activity is to train the teacher in making science gear, especially related to the use of ice cream sticks used as the basic material for building media structures of DNA and RNA. This dedication activity has been carried out locally, located in the Pondok Pesantren Attohiriyah Alfadiliyah Bodak, Central Lombok. The implementation of service activities has been carried out well, through three stages, namely, preparation, implementation, to evaluation and reporting. Abstract

Project Based Learning is a student-centered learning model that builds and applies concepts in the final project by independently exploring and solving real-world problems. In this study, Project Based Learning learning was carried out by making learning videos about plant cuttings at SMAS ATTOHIRIYAH BODAK to improve students' existing competencies. The stages in this activity are the preparation stage which consists of identifying material and solutions for solving problems. Furthermore, the implementation stage consists of the process of making videos, video editing, and presentations. In the final stage, namely the evaluation and reporting stage which consists of evaluating learning videos and preparing activity reports. Based on the results of the activities that have been carried out, project based learning training activities are very useful for students, teachers and lecturers in developing their competencies to become facilitators in learning activities at the education unit level

Abstract

PjBL learning training based on practicum tools and learning videos on caliper material and screw micrometers at the Attohiriyah Alfadiliyah Islamic Boarding School, Bodak, Central Lombok. Measurement using a screw micrometer and caliper is one of the materials taught in high school physics subjects. The problem faced is the tool's small size, making it difficult for students when the teacher demonstrates the tool. The solution that can be offered is to watch the learning videos on how to read caliper calipers and screw micrometers on a computer or mobile phone and can be demonstrated directly with measuring instruments. The use of visual aids and videos in learning really helps the effectiveness and efficiency of delivering messages and lesson content. The use of tools and videos of caliper and screw micrometer visual aids in learning effectively increases the average student understanding of the concept of measurement

Abstract

An important component in the learning process is the existence of teaching materials for students. Teachers need a variety of teaching materials, both in the form of textbooks and modules that can help carry out the learning process well. This research aims to test the effectiveness of a Socio-Scientific Issue (SSI) based science e-module to increase students' scientific literacy. This type of research is quasi-experimental research with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research was conducted in three class VII MTs Nurul Iman Dasan Makam, Sukamulia District, East Lombok Regency. The effectiveness of the e-module is obtained by providing test questions at the beginning (pretest) and at the end (posttest) of learning to measure the increase in students' scientific literacy. The results of the analysis of the effectiveness of increasing scientific literacy are in the medium category with an average N-gain score of 0.47. The research results show that the implementation of the SSI-based science e-module is quite effective in increasing students' scientific literacy so that it can be used as a teaching material for science learning

Abstract

Propolis has been touted for its ability to regulate blood sugar levels in diabetes, but the effectiveness can vary depending on the region. A study was conducted to investigate the effect of propolis Trigona sp. water extract on blood sugar levels in vivo. The mice were divided into three groups, with four mice in each group. The positive control group received a 5 mg/kgBW glibenclamide suspension, the negative control group was given a 0.25% CMC-Na suspension, and the treatment group was administered with water extract of propolis at a dose of 300 mg/kgBW. All groups were induced with a 20% D-glucose solution intraperitoneally, and blood sugar levels were measured at 15, 30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes via the tail vein. The blood sugar data was analyzed and presented descriptively. The Mann-Whitney statistical analysis was used to determine the results, revealing that the water extract of propolis at 300 mg/kgBW did not have a significant effect on reducing blood sugar levels in animals induced by a 20% D-glucose solution, with a significance value (p < 0.05).
