Abstract

ABSTRACT Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is still one of the public health problems that is still the concern of the government in Indonesia. The number of sufferers is increasing from time to time and eventually lead to Extraordinary Events. Various efforts continue to be done to solve the problem of DHF in Jambi City which is an endemic area of ​​DHF. Data from the Jambi Provincial Health Office, recorded in January 2016 there were 466 cases with 4 deaths (13.7 Incident / 100,000 population) spread in 10 districts / cities except Kerinci Regency. The highest number of cases occurred in Jambi City with an Incidence Rate of 40.4 / 100,000 population (237 cases and 2 deaths). During January 2019 alone, there were already 25 cases of DHF recorded in the Muaro Jambi District Health Office. The village of Pondok goose housing is a border area between Jambi City and Muaro Jambi. Many settlements inhabited by Unja students must of course also be a concern. Fogging is not the right solution in limiting dengue mosquitoes. Efforts to improve prevention skills 1 house 1 jumantik so that each house will be able to clean the environment from mosquito nests so that it is expected to solve the problem of dengue cases in the village of pondok pondok swan. Abstract

Latar belakang: Peran orang tua yang baik akan menghasilkan kesehatan mental anak yang optimal. Saat membimbing anak belajar pada masa pandemi COVID-19, orang tua seringkali menghadapi banyak kendala terutama karena keterbatasan waktu. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan peran orang tua dengan kesehatan mental anak dalam pembelajaran daring selama pandemi COVID-19. Metode: Desain penelitian potong lintang ini dilakukan melalui survei terhadap keluarga yang memiliki anak usia sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Hamparan Rawang, Kota Sungai Penuh. Sampel penelitian adalah orang tua (ayah atau ibu) sebanyak 93 orang yang dipilih menggunakan teknik multistage random sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui metode wawancara menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi Square. Hasil: Hasil studi diperoleh mayoritas tingkat kesehatan mental anak adalah kurang baik (50,5%), sedangan peran orang tua dalam membimbing anak belajar sebagian besar baik (53,8%). Terdapat hubungan signifikan antara peran orang tua dengan persepsi kesehatan mental anak (POR= 4,480; Cl 95%= 1,867-10,784). Simpulan: Disarankan kepada orangtua untuk menyediakan lebih banyak waktu untuk memonitor proses belajar sekaligus membimbing belajar anak di rumah sebagai pengganti guru selama pandemi COVID-19. Abstract

Background: In 2014 the POM Agency reported cases of food poisoning in various parts of Indonesia. One of these cases was caused by 15 cases of street food with 468 victims, and 1 case of poisoning due to catering services totaling 748 people. So, therefore destination study is for knowing the perception of handler food to the establishment of a healthy canteen at the University Jambi. Method: The research was conducted qualitatively using approach observation and Interview deep. The research subjects were 15 people consisting of 8 informants Main is a food handler and 7 person informant supporters, namely 3 Business Management Agency and 4 students. Result: The perception of food handlers on the establishment of a healthy canteen at Jambi University is quite good. The perception of vulnerability to the establishment of canteens at Jambi University is still not good. Likewise, the perception of barriers to the establishment of a healthy canteen at the University of Jambi is also still less than optimal. Then the readiness for the establishment of a healthy canteen at Jambi University is still inadequate and there are benefits from the establishment of a healthy canteen at Jambi University Conclusion: The perception of food handlers towards the establishment of a healthy canteen at Jambi University is quite good. However, perceptions of vulnerability, barriers, and readiness related to the establishment of a healthy canteen at Jambi University are still not optimal and there are benefits in establishing a healthy canteen at Jambi University. It is hoped that the canteen at Jambi University will make a policy regarding this matter, improve facilities and infrastructure and provide training to food handlers to increase knowledge about healthy canteens.

Abstract

Poor waste management can result in chemical exposure and health issues. With a %age of 42.63 %, Kerinci district is the district in Jambi province with the largest number of river trash disposals, while Penawar Village is the village with the highest number of river waste disposals. This study aims to investigate waste management training effectiveness on community behaviour in household waste to reduce the waste number into the river in Penawar village, Kerinci Regency. This research is a quasi-experimental study employing a pretest-posttest design group with a research sample of 46 houses and simple random sampling. The results showed that before the intervention, the majority of housewives' knowledge was lacking (34.8%), the majority attitude was negative (69.6%) and the majority action was poor (71.7%). After the implementation of the Household Waste Management Training, the majority of housewives' knowledge was good (89.1%), positive attitude (100%) and majority action was good (73.9%). Compared before intervention. The application of the training proved to be effective in increasing household waste management behavior with (p) < 0.05. Waste management training effectively enhances the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of housewives in managing home trash to lower the rate of garbage disposal into the river in Penawar Village, Kerinci Regency.

Abstract

Introduction, the Covid-19 pandemic and the Large-Scale Social Control Policy (PSBB) have a very significant effect on health services, especially the visit of mothers under five to posyandu. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the visit of toddler mothers to posyandu at the Kebun Kopi Health Centre, Jambi City. Materials and Methods, this study is descriptive analytic with Cross Sectional approach with accidental sampling technique. The respondents in this study were mothers who had toddlers aged 12-59 months, the working area of the Kebun Kopi Health Centre, Jambi City was 101 people. The analysis in this study used univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using Chi Square. The results/findings, this study showed that the variables related to visits by mothers of toddlers to posyandu during the Covid-19 pandemic were the role of cadres (p = 0.000), family support (p = 0.003) and anxiety (p = 0.034), while unrelated factors were knowledge (p = 0.158), sources of information (p = 0.561), and work (p = 0.290). In conclusion, the factors that influence the visit of mothers of toddlers to posyandu during the Covid-19 pandemic are the role of cadres, family support and anxiety. The need for education about Covid-19 transmission to mothers under five and posyandu strictly implements health protocols.

Abstract

Background: Dental health is the most important part of general oral health, especially during a child's growth and development. Children with dental caries experience loss of chewing ability and problems with digestion, resulting in disruption of growth and development. Dental caries in children is still a fairly high prevalence problem in Indonesia. Aims: This research aimed to see the effect of audiovisual media to Increasing Knowledge and Skills of Brushing Teeth in Early Childhood. Methods: This study used a pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects of this study were PAUD students in Jambi City with a 1:1 ratio of respondents, where the experimental group was 40 students and the control group was 40 students. Primary data can be collected through various methods, such as surveys, interviews, direct observation, or scientific experiments. Data analysis employed the paired t-test. Results: The measurable test shows a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05. It indicates that the understanding of the students in the intervention group and the control group differs significantly. The analysis's findings indicate a significant difference between the students' skills in the intervention group and the control group, with a p-value of 0.000 <0.05. Conclusion: Audiovisual media and snake and ladders games are effective in increasing knowledge and skill of brushing teeth in early childhood.

Abstract

Smokers Switch to E-Cigarettes in Jambi City in 2024, namely there is a relationship between the variables of friend influence, advertising and social media support, as well as the behavioral knowledge of tobacco smokers switching to e-cigarettes in Jambi City. Indonesia occupies the fifth position as a producer of tobacco leaves and the third position globally in cigarette consumption. The level of distribution of cigarettes across the country has reached. Technological developments have brought a new phenomenon in the form of tobacco cigarette replacements, such as vapor, vape and e-cigarettes, which are considered an effort to help smokers quit smoking habits, especially in the Jambi city area. This study aims to be Factors Related to the Behavior of Conventional Smokers Who Switch to E-Cigarettes in Jambi City in 2024. The type of research used is a cross sectional approach. The sample for this study was 96 people. The sampling technique used is Accidental Sampling. The population in this study is all individuals who use electronic cigarettes (vapes). The results of this study found that there was a relationship between the influence of friends and the behavior of tobacco smokers to e-cigarettes (p-value: 0.001), the relationship between advertising support and social media, the behavior of tobacco smokers to e-cigarettes (p-value: 0.001), and the relationship of knowledge with the behavior of tobacco smokers to e-cigarettes (p-value: 0.026) in Jambi City. Abstract

Background: The Ministry of Health reported that in 2022 there were approximately 143,000 cases of dengue fever in Indonesia. According to data from the Jambi Provincial Health Profile in 2022, there were 1,381 cases of DHF, which caused 9 deaths, based on data from the Jambi City Health Office, the highest number of DHF cases in Jambi City in 2022 was 36 cases at the Paal V Health Center. The Paal V Health Center has made efforts to eradicate DHF, but cases still appear high, this is influenced by several factors such as knowledge and attitudes. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of posters and videos on dengue prevention on the knowledge and attitudes of the community in the working area of Puskesmas Paal V, Jambi City. Methods: Quantitative research design with an experimental approach. Total samples of 30 poster media and 30 video media were selected using accidental sampling technique. The variables in this study are poster media, videos, knowledge and attitudes. Data collection using questionnaires and data processing in the form of bivariate and univariate analysis. The test used in this study is the Wilcoxon test if the data is not normally distributed and the paired t-test if the data is normally distributed. Results: There is an effect of posters and videos on knowledge with a p-value of poster media (p-value=0.001) and video media (p-value=0.001). There is an effect of poster and video media on attitude with a p-value of poster media (p-value=0.049) and video media (p-value=0.041). Conclusion: Based on the results of the research that has been done, video media is more effective than poster media on knowledge and attitudes about the prevention of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF). Therefore, in order to use video media as a medium in conducting counseling about dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF).

Abstract

Washing your hands with soap is a very simple, easy action, and has great benefits in preventing various potentially fatal diseases. Based on Riskesdas data in 2018, the proportion of the population aged less than 10 years has increased from 47.0% in 2023 to 49.8% in 2018. According to Jambi city PHBS data in 2022, it is stated that the health center whose CTPS is classified as low is the Rawasari Health Center with a total of 42 schools but only 15 schools implementing CTPS, this research aims to analyze factors related to the habit of washing hands with soap (CTPS) among students at SD Negeri Alam Barajo District, Jambi City. This research uses a quantitative approach using a Cross-Sectional design. The number of samples used was 101 students who were selected using the Purposive Sampling technique. The research results showed that 60.4% of students had good CTPS behavior, 74.3% had good knowledge, 60.4% had a positive attitude, 53.5% had a teacher role, and 68.3% had complete facilities. Based on the results of statistical tests, the relationship between knowledge and the role of teachers with CTPS habitual behavior has a p-value of 0.305 and 0.718 (p > 0.05), while the relationship between attitudes and handwashing facilities and CTPS habitual behavior has a p-value of 0.000 and 0.035 (p < 0.05). Teacher knowledge and role do not have a significant relationship with CTPS habitual behavior, while attitudes and hand washing facilities have a significant relationship with CTPS habitual behavior. It is recommended to improve attitudes and hand washing facilities to improve CTPS behavior among students.

Abstract

Smoking behavior has become a widespread health issue in almost all countries of the world. WHO states that tobacco use causes more than 8 million deaths each year, of which 7 million are active smokers and 1.2 million are victims of second-hand smoke. The increase in the number of active smokers in Indonesia, especially among teenagers, continues. According to Deputy Health Minister Dante Saksono, Indonesia currently ranks third in the number of active smokers in the world, after China and India. The total number of smokers worldwide reached 70.2 million people, or about 34.5 percent of the global population, which is 33.8% with the prevalence of youth smokers at 12.8%. This type of research is quantitative research with a cross sectional study design. The total population of this study was 708 respondents. The sample in this study was selected through proportional random sampling technique, namely 92 respondents. The dependent variable is smoking behavior and the independent variables are knowledge, attitude, parents, peers, and cigarette advertising. There is a relationship between attitude (p value = 0.000), peers (p value = 0.000) and cigarette advertising (p value = 0.000) with smoking behavior. There is no relationship between knowledge (p value = 0.549) and parents (p value = 0.049) with smoking behavior.
