Abstract

Anxiety conditions in pregnant women with their first child are very important to consider in the face of birth. Anxiety is strongly influenced by internal and external factors. This study aims to determine the role of emotional intelligence, social support and age on anxiety. The method used in this study is a quantitative method for 71 pregnant women with their first child. Pregnant women studied were found at Awalbros Hospital in Pekanbaru City. Gestational age ranges from 27 to 40 weeks. The measuring instrument used in this research is the emotional intelligence, social support and anxiety scale variables. The study also involved a control variable, namely the age of pregnant women. The data was processed using regression analysis with the help of Personal Computer (PC) and Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPPS) software version 16.00 for windows. The results showed that emotional intelligence and social support played a positive and significant role on anxiety with the F value being 23,542 and p being 0.001 (p<0.05); emotional intelligence and social support as well as age as control variables have a positive and significant role on anxiety with F value is 18,883 and p is 0,001 (p<0,05); the contribution of the predictor variables together is 45.8% to the criterion variable; and the contribution of the control variable to anxiety is 4.9%. Research is very helpful for pregnant women with their first child in following up on the effect of anxiety on emotional intelligence and social support. So this research is very helpful for pregnant women with their first child in facing birth.

Abstract

Masa anak-anak merupakan masa yang sangat penting dalam pertumbuhan dan perkembangan seseorang. Masa anak-anak dinilai masa penentu untuk masa perkembangan tahap selanjutnya, dan sangat perlu diperhatikan, baik oleh orangtua, lingkungan, dan pihak lainnya. Pada masa anak-anak terjadi perkembangan baik itu secara fisik, Bahasa, sosial, bahkan emosional. Perkembangan fisik, kognitif, bahasa, sosial dan emosional mengalami perubahan yang sangat cepat pada masa ini terutama pada masa anak usia dini, oleh karena itu masa ini disebut juga masa keemasan. Saat ini sangat efektif untuk mengoptimalkan berbagai potensi anak agar menjadi pribadi yang berkualitas. Pesatnya perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi saat ini berdampak pada pola asuh orang tua. Gadget merupakan salah satu hasil perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang paling populer digunakan mulai dari kalangan lanjut usia, hingga anak usia dini sudah mulai menggunakan gedget. Penggunaan gadget pada anak usia dini dapat mempengaruhi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak. Meskipun gadget memberikan dampak positif bagi anak, namun dampak penggunaan gadget pada anak lebih dominan berdampak negatif. Penyelesaian penggunaan gadget harus mencakup prinsip-prinsip kebijakan dalam pendidikan karakter pada anak, penggunaan gadget yang ideal terutama untuk anak usia dini dilakukan dengan mempertimbangkan usia, waktu, kebutuhan, dan tempat. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian Pustaka (library research) dengan metode pengumpulan data dari buku, jurnal, dan artikel. Teknik analisis data menggunakan deskriptif analisis dengan menggunakan tata fikir logis untuk mengonstruksikan sejumlah konsep menjadi proposisi, hipotesis, postulat, aksioma, asumsi ataupun mengkonstruksi menjadi sebuah teori.

Abstract

Pregnancy is a time awaited by many women. Entering pregnancy, there are many changes that occur both biologically due to hormonal changes, but also psychologically. Pregnancy generally occurs at a productive age before entering menopause. Pregnancy is a difficult phase, so many pregnant women experience excessive fear and anxiety during pregnancy and childbirth, due to many factors, both internal and external. Fear and anxiety are usually more felt in pregnant women with their first child, but in subsequent pregnancies there are still many who experience fear and anxiety. This is very bad if not handled properly, because it can endanger the condition of pregnant women and also their womb. Tokophobia is a common condition characterized by fear experienced by women in relation to the processes of pregnancy and childbirth. Various stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, psychologists, media outlets, and specialized teams, have sought solutions to address tokophobia. One popular approach is hypnotherapy, particularly hypnobirthing, which supports the processes of pregnancy and childbirth. Hypnobirthing involves the utilization of positive suggestions to facilitate and ease the process of childbirth while reducing potential fears experienced by the mother. Educational videos are frequently employed within hypnobirthing, combining auditory and visual elements to provide positive benefits to viewers. Based on research and testing conducted on 15 productive age pregnant women with tokophobia in Pekanbaru, the use of educational hypnobirthing videos has proven to have a positive impact in reducing levels of fear throughout the pregnancy process.
