Abstract

Type II diabetes mellitus is characterized by high blood sugar levels that trigger complications and reduce the quality of life physically, psychologically, socially, and environmentally. Quality of life is used to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and monitor public health. The purpose of the study was to analyze the most influential factors on the quality of life in patients with type II diabetes mellitus at Anshari Saleh Hospital, Banjarmasin. The research method used Cross-sectional with Purposive Sampling technique of 83 respondents. The independent variables were age, gender, education, income, complications, duration of suffering, family support and the dependent variable of quality of life using bivariate with Chi-Square, while multivariate analysis with multiple logistic regression used the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire as an instrument of quality of life. The results of the study showed that there was an influence between education level (p = 0.000), income level (p = 0.008), disease complications (p = 0.002), duration of suffering (p = 0.021), family support (p = 0.021) and education level factors (OR = 60,527) which had the most influence on the quality of life in patients with type II diabetes mellitus. Education level affects the quality of life of diabetes sufferers through understanding and managing the disease. Higher education makes it easier to understand health information, improving quality of life. Meanwhile, low education can reduce quality of life due to difficulty understanding information even though broad knowledge can improve the situation. However, lack of awareness to behave healthily still has a negative impact on the quality of life physically, psychologically, socially, and environmentally. It is hoped that nursing services will provide more continuous education by forming peer groups (diabetes classes), and WhatsApp groups to improve health education for type II diabetes mellitus sufferers according to their level of education in increasing their knowledge.

Abstract

Degenerative diseases are non-communicable diseases (NCDs) that are chronic. According to WHO, there are four main types of NCDs, namely cardiovascular disease (coronary heart disease and stroke), cancer, chronic respiratory disease (asthma and COPD), diabetes mellitus. The high rate of increase in blood sugar levels of more than 200 mg/dl in diabetes mellitus patients is caused by many factors that cause an increase in blood sugar levels. The aim of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the increase in blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at Anshari Saleh Hospital, Banjarmasin. The design in this study used a cross sectional method. The statistical tests used are the Sperm Rank test and multiple logistic regression test. The sampling technique uses proportional sampling. The research results showed that there was an influence of physical activity, stress, emotional intelligence, eating patterns, and medication adherence with increasing blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus patients (p0.05), there was no influence of obesity and heredity with increasing blood sugar levels in diabetes patients. Mellitus (p0.05) and the factor that has the most influence on increasing blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus patients is diet with an odds ratio of 38,428. Nurses need to improve the quality of services by improving methods, educational media, or ways of conveying information that will be given to patients' families and patients regarding diabetes mellitus so that it is easier for families to understand.

Abstract

Global Breastfeeding Scorecard menyebutkan persentase bayi dibawah 6 bulan yang mendapat ASI hanya 48%. ASI merupakan nutrisi terbaik untuk bayi. Namun faktanya banyak ibu mengalami kegagalan proses menyusui.

ABSTRACT Factors originating from the nurses themselves include knowledge and abilities, work-related competencies, work motivation, and work happiness. Meanwhile, factors outside the nurse's control such as workload and organizational leadership style have a significant effect on nurse performance. This study aims to analyze the factors related to the performance of nurses in carrying out triage in the Emergency Room of Kutacane Hospital. This type of research is quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. This study involved 50 respondents selected by total sampling technique. Data collection using questionnaires and multiple logistic regression. The research instrument is to assess independent variables which include internal and external aspects. The relationship between skills and nurse performance is in the category most related to the P-value (0.000) <0.05. For nurses to be able to improve the performance of nurses in conducting triage in the Kutacane Hospital Emergency Room. The most dominant factor related to nurse performance is the skills of nurses in conducting triage in the Emergency Room of Kutacane Hospital as evidenced by the Odd Ratio of 132.0. Skills to support nurses' performance in carrying out triage in the emergency room at Kutacane Hospital. Therefore, it is hoped that hospital management can create standard operating procedures regarding the performance of nurses in carrying out triage, thereby improving the quality of service to patients being treated. which can be used as a reference by future researchers. Abstract

Daily prenatal care plays an essential role in maintaining maternal and fetal health and preventing pregnancy complications. However, its implementation remains suboptimal due to several influencing factors. This study aimed to examine the relationship between maternal age, education level, parity, and family support with daily prenatal care practices. A cross-sectional study was conducted from May to June 2024 at Berangas Public Health Center, involving 74 pregnant women selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using Spearman’s rank correlation test. The research study shows that the majority of respondents were aged 20–35 years (86.5%), had education equivalent to senior high school or higher (56.8%), were in the at-risk parity group with 0, 1, and 3 live births (82.4%), and received adequate family support (82.4%). A total of 70.3% of respondents demonstrated good daily prenatal care practices. Significant positive correlations were found between age (ρ = 0.435, p < 0.001), education (ρ = 0.506, p < 0.001), and family support (ρ = 0.321, p = 0.005), while parity showed a significant negative correlation (ρ = –0.321, p = 0.005). These findings indicate that maternal education and family support are key factors influencing daily prenatal care behavior.
