Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the interaction and main effects of biochar residue and POC NASA applications to increase growth and production and nutrient uptake of peanut plants. This research has been carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru City. The research was carried out for 4 months from January to April 2021. The design used in this study was a factorial completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors, the first factor was biochar residue (B) which consisted of 4 treatment levels, namely biochar dose 0; 0,7; 1.4; 2,1 kg per plot. The second factor is POC NASA which consists of 4 treatment levels, namely POC NASA concentration 0; 3; 6; 9 ml/L of water. Parameters observed were relative growth rate, number of pods, the weight of wet pods per plant, the weight of dry pods per plant, and nutrient uptake of N, P, K in plants. Observational data from each treatment were statistically analyzed and continued with the further test of Honest Significant Difference (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results showed that the residue biochar and POC NASA had a significant effect on all observed parameters except for plant nutrient uptake parameters of N, P, and K. In terms of interaction and main, the best treatment was biochar residue, the dose of 2,1 kg/plot and POC NASA with a concentration of 9 ml/liter of water (B3P3).

Abstract

Onion production in Riau Province is still low, while the demand is quite large. Therefore, it is necessary to increase production. This study aimed to determine the effect of the application of oil palm ash and various types of organic fertilizers on ultisol soils on the growth and production of shallots. The design used was a completely randomized factorial design consisting of 2 factors. The first factor was the provision of oil palm ash which consisted of 4 levels of treatment, namely: 0, 200,400, and 600 g/plot. The second factor is various types of organic fertilizers which consist of 4 levels of treatment, namely: without giving organic fertilizer, chicken manure, tankos compost and corn litter bokashi. The parameters observed were plant height, number of tubers per clump, wet tuber weight per clump, dry tuber weight, percentage of tuber weight loss, relative growth rate and nutrient uptake. plants, number of tubers, wet weight per clump, dry weight per clump and tuber weight loss, the best treatment was giving palm ash 400 g/plot and corn litter bokashi. The main effect of giving palm ash bunches was real on all observation parameters, the best treatment was 400 g/plot. The main effect of organic fertilizer was real on all observed parameters. The best treatment was corn litter bokashi.

Abstract

The purpose of the research was to know the effect of Fly Ash and legin interaction on seed development and green bean production (Vigna radiata L), and the main influence of each treatment. The study used Completely Randomized Design (RAL) that consisted of two factors: Fly Ash waste with 4 treatment levels, i.e without fly ash, giving flay ash 1.0; 1.5 and 2.0 kg plots, and Legin Inoculation with 4 treatment levels, i.e without legin, inoculation of legin 5.0; 10.0 and 15.0 g / kg of seed. The results showed that the interaction of legin and fly ash inoculation did not affect the growth of green bean seeds, such as changes in seed moisture content, changes in dry seed weight, the rate of dry matter seed collecting (KPBK), effective seeding time (WPE), number of pods and weight of 100 grains seed. However, it affected the percentage of pods and the weight of dry seed harvest. Inoculation of 10 g of legin and 1.5 kg of fly ash was sufficient to produce the highest yield. Legin inoculation affected all parametrs observed. Inokulasi green beans with 10.0 g legin/kg seeds show the best seed development and production for all parameters that were observed. Fly ash feed affected all observation parameters. Giving 1.5 kg of fly ash/plot was sufficient for green bean plants to produce high seed development and production.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the response of mung bean to the application of ameliorant polyvalent cations Cu2+, Fe3+, Zn2+ and Palm Oil Midrib Compost Fertilizer on Peat Media. The research was carried out in the experimental farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru from March to May 2020. The design used in this study was a factorial completely randomized design consisting of two factors. The first factor is the provision of ameliorant material (A) consisting of 4 levels of A0 (without ameliorant), A1 (Cu2+), A2 (Fe3+), and A3 (Zn2+) and the second factor is the provision of palm frond compost (K) consisting of 4 levels of K0 ( without compost) K1 (12 g/plant) K2 (24 g/plant) K3 (36 g/plant). Observational data were analyzed statistically and further test BNJ level 5%. The results of the study by interaction gave an influence on the observation of seed weight per plant, with the best treatment being the provision of ameliorant Cu2+ and oil palm midrib compost 24 g/plant (A1K2). The main effect of giving ameliorant material gave effect on all observation parameters, namely plant height, relative growth rate, speed of dry matter filling, effective seed filling time, flowering age, harvest age, seed weight per plant, percentage of empty pods, the weight of 100 seeds and root volume, where the best treatment is in the provision of ameliorant Cu2+ (A1). The main effect of oil palm midrib compost affects the observation parameters, namely plant height, relative growth rate, speed of dry matter filling, flowering age, harvest age, seed weight per plant, percentage of empty pods, weight of 100 seeds and root volume where the best treatment is in giving 24 g/plant (K2) of oil palm midrib compost.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui pengaruh interaksi serta pengaruh utama pupuk organik kasgot dan pupuk NPK 16:16:16 terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L. Moenc). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Islam Riau, Jln. Kaharuddin Nasution KM 11, Kelurahan Air Dingin, Kecamatan Bukit Raya, Kota Pekanbaru, Riau. Dilaksanakan selama 4 bulan mulai dari bulan Juli sampai Oktober 2022. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial yang terdiri dari dua faktor. Faktor yang pertama adalah dosis pupuk organik kasgot terdiri dari 4 taraf, yaitu 0, 0,75, 1,5, dan 2,25 kg per plot. Sedangkan faktor yang kedua adalah pupuk NPK 16:16:16 terdiri dari 4 taraf, yaitu 0, 3,75, 7,5, dan 11,75 g per tanaman. Setiap kombinasi perlakuan terdiri dari 3 ulangan, setiap satuan percobaan terdiri dari 4 tanaman dan 2 tanaman digunakan sebagai sampel pengamatan. Dari hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa interaksi pemberian pupuk organik kasgot dan NPK 16:16:16 berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman, umur berbunga, umur panen, jumlah buah per tanaman, dan berat buah per tanaman. Perlakuan terbaik pupuk organik kasgot 1,5 kg/plot dan pupuk NPK 16:16:16 11,75 g/tanaman. Pengaruh utama pupuk organik kasgot nyata terhadap semua parameter pengamatan, perlakuan terbaik adalah pupuk organik kasgot 1,50 kg/plot. Pengaruh utama pupuk NPK 16:16:16 nyata terhadap semua parameter pengamatan, perlakuan terbaik pupuk NPK 16:16:16 11,75 g/tanaman. Serapan hara N, P dan K melalui pemberian pupuk organik kasgot 1,50 kg/plot dan NPK 16:16:16 11,75 g/tanaman lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya.

Abstract

Community service activities have been carried out in Dosan Village in Dosan Village, Pusako District, Siak Regency, where most of the people are farmers. Based on the results of an initial survey of several farmers and village officials who wanted to know information about making bokashi, it can be concluded that the people of Dosan Village deserve training on bokashi making techniques. The training was carried out with the aim of increasing the knowledge and skills of village communities in processing organic waste from household and agricultural waste. The service activities will be carried out for 6 months, starting from the preparation of the service team to partner locations to monitoring and evaluation and publication as a form of output from this service activity. Service activities are carried out using lecture and demonstration methods. The results of the service activities showed that there was an increase in partner participants' knowledge regarding bokashi fertilizer before and after the activity with percentage of 76 to 86%. The results of the paired t-test also show that there is a significant difference in the increase in farmers' knowledge before and after community service activities.
