Abstract

The results of this study aim to determine the pattern of business activities and application of pond cultivation technology and the level of feasibility per unit of pond land. Starting from January - July, 2020, in Tanete Riattang Timur District. The pond business patterns are grouped into milkfish monoculture (Chanos chanos fork), milkfish polyculture (Chanos chanos fork) and seaweed (Gracillaria verrucosa), milkfish (Chanos chanos fork) and shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) polycultures with narrow (< 2 hectares), medium (2-5 hectares) and broad (> 5 hectares) scales. The results of the study show that almost all of the ponds in the Tanete Riattang Timur sub-district have entisol soil types. The soil texture is fine and coarse, the slope of the pond land is 1-9%. The appropriate distance for aquaculture is 50 – 500 meters from the river bank, water pH ranges from 7.5 – 8, salinity ranges from 15 – 29 ppt, water temperature ranges from 29 – 32 0C. GIS analysis of total pond area ±817.015 Ha. Respondents were 59 Fishery Households (RTP). The financial feasibility of monoculture milkfish (Chanos chanos fork) DF 12%, the highest is the NPV of Rp. 57,267,164. Net B/C ratio 1.77; IRR of 29.03%. The financial feasibility of milkfish (Chanos chanos fork)-shrimp polyculture where the highest DF 12% is the NPV of Rp. 88,857,765, Net B/C ratio of 2,099; IRR of 35.48%. The financial feasibility of polyculture of milkfish (Chanos chanos fork) seaweed (Gracillaria verrucosa) where the DF is 12% with the highest value, namely NPVRp. 90,665,055; Net B/C ratio of 2,099; IRR is 33.67%. The conclusion is that the land suitability category in Tanete Riattang Timur District consists of very suitable.

Abstract

Kata Kunci: sebaran suhu permukaan laut, suhu,Teluk Bone, Terra MODISABSTRACTSea surface temperature is one of the most important oceanographic parameters for the life of organisms in the oceans. Just like land, marine life also needs heat to be able to maintain its survival. Because of the importance of sea surface temperature, this study aims to determine the distribution of sea surface temperature using Terra Modis satellite imagery in the waters of Bone Bay spatially and temporally. The data processed is sea surface temperature data for 2021 obtained from the Terra MODIS level-3 satellite sensor downloaded from NASA (OCEAN COLOR or link http://modis.gfsc.nasa.gov/data), then image data processing is carried out using a SeaDas and ArGIS software with data collection stage with case studies in Bone Bay Waters. Based on the research results, the distribution of the highest sea surface temperature is in November ranging from 29.36º-34.52ºC with an average value of 30.83ºC and the lowest temperature is at August ranges from 26.64º-32.32ºC with an average SST of 28.70ºC. These results show that the Terra MODIS satellite sensor has provided good results on sea surface temperature data for 2021. Every month sea surface temperatures experience increases and decreases, until the peaks occur in November and August respectively. Keywords: sea surface temperature distribution, temperature Bone Bay, Terra MODIS

Abstract

Some cultivators depend on the owners of capital, such as traders and entrepreneurs, so there is dependence on the owners of the capital. This study aims to determine the main factors that influence the development of seaweed cultivation; measure the contribution of these main factors to the development of seaweed cultivation, and determine the strategy for developing seaweed cultivation in Tanete Riattang District. East. Data were collected using observation, interview, and participatory rapid appraisal methods. Data were analyzed qualitatively. The results show that the main factors that influence the development of seaweed cultivation are the availability of 85.9% land with decent conditions, labor, business feasibility of 1.34 based on OI/Ratio analysis, access to capital, marketing results, post-harvest handling, and local government policies. Together and integrated, the main factors contribute to supporting and hindering the development of seaweed aquaculture. Possible development strategies These are land management and construction design of cultivation methods, application of long line and floating raft methods in offshore waters, activating extension of the "behavior" system (training and visits), setting planting schedules, technical guidance on cultivation and business management, forming Joint Business Groups (KUB), planning cultivation locations by involving stakeholders, zoning coastal and marine areas, forming partnerships between cultivators and entrepreneurs, and providing capital assistance with a revolving system and credit with interest subsidies.

Abstract

Intensive farming of Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) is highly susceptible to microbiological imbalance due to the accumulation of organic matter, which can increase the risk of bacterial diseases, particularly those associated with the Vibrio group. This study aimed to analyze the dynamics of the Vibrio-to-total bacteria ratio throughout the culture cycle of Pacific white shrimp in South Sulawesi and to evaluate its potential as an indicator of disease risk. The research was conducted in a super-intensive Pacific white shrimp pond in Barru Regency over a single production cycle. Pond water samples were collected twice weekly and analyzed using the Total Plate Count (TPC) method to determine total bacterial abundance and the Total Vibrio Count (TVC) method on Thiosulfate Citrate Bile Salts Sucrose (TCBS) agar to quantify Vibrio populations. The observed parameters included total bacterial count, yellow Vibrio colonies, green Vibrio colonies, and the Vibrio-to-total bacteria ratio. The results showed that total bacterial abundance fluctuated within the range of 10⁶–10⁷ colony-forming units per milliliter (CFU mL⁻¹) throughout most of the culture period. Yellow Vibrio colonies consistently exhibited higher abundance than green Vibrio colonies during almost all observation periods. The Vibrio-to-total bacteria ratio displayed dynamic temporal fluctuations with several pronounced peaks, particularly during the final stage of cultivation, indicating an increasing relative dominance of Vibrio within the microbial community. These findings suggest that the Vibrio-to-total bacteria ratio provides a more comprehensive assessment of microbial community balance than absolute Vibrio abundance alone. Therefore, this parameter has strong potential to serve as an early indicator of disease risk in intensive Pacific white shrimp farming systems.
