Abstract

Abstract[Optimization of Single Product Aggregrate Production Planning Considering Production Capacity] Bottled drinking water industry growth has increased significantly. The increase in the bottled drinking water industry is influenced by the high demand for clean drinking water products. PT X in this case study experienced fluctuations in demand due to high competition between similar industries. Therefore, PT X established sub-contract cooperation to fulfill demand in this case study. The problem experienced by PT X was when carrying out sub-contract cooperation. The high price per unit of sub-contracted products can result in high production planning cost. The research is conducted to minimize the number of sub-contract units while optimizing internal production. The optimization model was built with a linear objective function and a nonlinear constraint function as an optimization proposal for aggregrate production planning. Besides that, the reduced number of sub-contract units can result in high internal production for the company, therefore it is necessary to consider production capacity. The proposed capacity evaluation is conducted using a rough-cut capacity planning approach. Based on the results of the optimization of the proposed model, it can save 5% of aggregrate production planning costs compared to actual conditions. Keywords: integer nonlinear programming; production capacity; aggregrate production planning

Abstract

The increasing competition in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry leads to demand fluctuations, negatively impacting the accuracy of demand forecasts and determining optimal lot sizes in material inventory planning. Many companies struggle to adopt appropriate forecasting models, resulting in poor accuracy and higher material costs. This study aims to develop an integrated model for forecasting and material planning using simulation. The artificial neural network (ANN) method is proposed to improve forecasting accuracy, with performance evaluated through mean percentage error (MAPE), mean absolute deviation (MAD), and mean squared error (MSE). The forecast results are then applied to optimize material inventory using the economic order quantity (EOQ) model, considering warehouse capacity constraints. The EOQ model is applied to adjust lot sizes under time-varying demand. The findings highlight the importance of integrating forecasting with inventory planning to provide accurate demand predictions and optimal lot sizing, ultimately minimizing material costs in the FMCG industry. This research contributes to better decision-making in supply chain management by enhancing forecasting accuracy and inventory optimization.

Abstract

The production process of cassava chips begins with the preparation of cassava raw materials and then the process of separating the skin from cassava. The process of cutting cassava into a certain size uses a special machine that is operated manually. The process of frying cassava using a large pan and the process of packaging into plastic are the last step of production. Planning the production of cassava chips starts with preparing the needs of raw materials for production for 3 days in a week ordered from 3 different suppliers to prepare production needs, the quantity needed in purchasing from suppliers includes 120 kg of cassava, 9 kg of red chili, 1 kg of garlic, 3 kg of lime, 27 kg of cooking oil, 9 kg of sugar and 0.25 kg of salt. The initial supply of cassava raw materials provided is 120 kg and at the end of the week the production inventory needs are 80 kg left from the use of 40 kg at the end of the week for the next production.

Abstract

The selection and assessment process of suppliers carried out by Private Airline Holding Company uses subjective assessment. It is not so transparent from the department's head with five criteria of suppliers and just enough sub-criteria. This matter inflicted a few problems, such as the goods received from suppliers not being by the amount ordered, the established quality standards, delays in estimated time delivered and received, and defects often found in the goods. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a method that helps solve complex problems by structuring a hierarchy of criteria, stakeholders, and outcomes and by considering many things to develop values or priorities. This research aims to determine the priority criteria and sub-criteria of pilot and flight attendant uniform suppliers and the priority order of the best suppliers, Private Airline Holding Company. This research uses Expert Choice V.11 software to implement the AHP method. The overall evaluation obtained shows that five criteria and thirteen sub-criteria were used. The best supplier based on data processing is Supplier 1, with a value of 0.213.

Abstract

Tata letak eksisting memiliki pola aliran bahan U-shaped, namun menyebabkan jarak perpindahan antardepartemen mencapai 71,08 meter.
