Abstract

Aging in the elderly is often accompanied by various health problems, one of which is cataracts. Cataract surgery is an effective solution but often causes anxiety in patients, which can affect their blood pressure before surgery. This study aims to determine the relationship between the anxiety level of the elderly and pre-operative blood pressure in cataract one day care. This research uses a quantitative method with a descriptive correlational design and a cross-sectional approach. The research sample consisted of 40 respondents selected using consecutive sampling techniques. Data were collected using the Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety and Information Scale (APAIS) questionnaire and blood pressure measurements with a sphygmomanometer. The analysis results showed a significant and positive relationship between anxiety levels and pre-operative blood pressure in cataract one day care with a p-value of 0.000 and a correlation strength (r) of 0.955. High anxiety levels in elderly patients undergoing cataract surgery are associated with increased pre-operative blood pressure. It is crucial for the health professionals to manage patients' anxiety through psychological interventions and education before surgery to reduce the risk of elevated blood pressure that can affect surgical safety.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Teknologi dan jaringan internet telah menjadi bagian dari sistem pendidikan formal dan informal di masa sekarang dan masa depan. Teknologi dan jaringan internet diperlukan di masa pandemi Covid-19 karena lembaga pendidikan di seluruh dunia membatasi proses belajar mengajar dengan membagi dengan dua cara yaitu online dan offline (hybrid learning), terutama universitas atau perguruan tinggi. Urgensi dalam penelitian ini terletak pada penerapan metode pembelajaran hybrid yang menggabungkan pembelajaran online (melalui media seperti Zoom) dan offline (di dalam kelas). Hybrid learning merupakan model pembelajaran yang mengintegrasikan inovasi dan kemajuan teknologi melalui sistem pembelajaran online dengan interaksi dan partisipasi model pembelajaran tradisional. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara metode hybrid learning dengan perilaku I-CARE mahasiswa STIKes Panti Rapih Yogyakarta. Metode: Desain penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian deskriptif korelasi dan cross sectional. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kampus 2 STIKes Panti Rapih Yogyakarta dan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 30 Juli sampai 4 Agustus 2024. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling berjumlah 100 responden yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan ekslusi. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah kuesioner hybrid learning dan I-CARE. Hasil: Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa karakteristik responden mendapatkan hasil persentase paling tinggi pada pada kategori usia 19 tahun sebanyak 38 orang (56,7%), pada kategori jenis kelamin perempuan sebanyak 60 orang (89,6%) dan pada kategori prodi Sarjana Keperawatan sejumlah 48 orang (71,6%). Sedangkan gambaran efektifitas metode hybrid learning mendapatkan hasil persentase paling tinggi pada kategori efektif sebanyak 34 responden (50,7%) dan gambaran perilaku I-CARE mendapatkan hasil persentase tertinggi pada kategori sangat baik sebanyak 32 responden (47,8%). Hasil uji Somer’d diperoleh p-value 0,614 (p-value > 0.05) maka tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara efektivitas metode hybrid learning dengan perilaku I-CARE mahasiswa STIKes Panti Rapih Yogyakarta. Abstract

Latar Belakang: Pasien gagal ginjal kronik (GGK) yang menjalani hemodialisa menghadapi berbagai tantangan fisik dan psikologis yang berdampak pada kualitas hidup mereka. Karakteristik demografi dan Self determination merupakan faktor penting yang mempengaruhi pengetahuan tentang hemodialisa, kepatuhan pengobatan, dan tingkat manajemen diri. Tujuan : Mengetahui hubungan karakteristik demografi dan self determination dengan kualitas hidup pasien hemodialisa. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif non – eksperimental dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif korelasi. Jumlah sempel sebanyak 112 responden yang menjalani hemodialisa rutin dua kali perminggu pada bulan Juli di ruang hemodialisa Rumah Sakit Panti Rapih. Hasil: Hasil penelitian ini mengidentifikasi bahwa mayoritas responden berjenis kelamin laki – laki (67,9%,), usia dewasa akhir (53,6%), tingkat pendidikan terakhir SMA (46,4%), tidak bekerja (47,3%), pendapatan ekonomi kelas menengah (38,4%), lama menjalani hemodialisa >2-5 tahun (66%), penyakit penyerta hipertensi (72,3%). Didapatkan responden mayoritas memiliki self determinasi yang tinggi sebesar (83%) dan kualitas hidup baik sebesar (49,1%). Tidak terdapat hubungan antara karakteristik demografi responden dengan self determination (p-value >0.05). Tidak terdapat hubungan karakteristik demografi dengan kualitas hidup, dan terdapat hubungan penyakit penyerta dengan kualitas hidup. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara self determination dan kualitas hidup dengan nilai p – value (0,008). Simpulan: Self-determination berhubungan secara segnifikan dengan kualitas hidup pasien hemodialisi. Perawat disarankan mengenalkan pasien hemodialisa untuk mengikuti komunitas pasien hemodialisa agar menimbulkan dukungan sosial tinggi dan dapat memperkuat tingkat self determination yang baik yang akan berdampak pada tingkat kualitas hidup yang baik. Abstract

Background: Indonesia faces ongoing social, religious and legal challenges in responding gender dysphoria (distress resulting from sex incongruence). It associated with poor mental health, self‑harm, substance misuse and impaired social functioning. Purpose: This study aims to review recent evidence (2015–2025) on psychosocial explanations of gender dysphoria and to summarize current approaches to psychosocial and medical treatment. Methods: A qualitative narrative review was conducted using EBSCO, PubMed and Medline (2015–Jan 2025). Data were organized into themes on: (1) diagnostic concepts and epidemiology, (2) psychosocial and developmental correlates, and (3) treatment models and outcomes. Results: Gender dysphoria is not classified as a mental disorder in ICD‑11 but frequently co‑occurs with significant psychiatric symptoms and adverse childhood experiences. Evidence on psychosocial interventions suggests that structured psychological support (individual, family‑based, or group) is generally safe and may improve mental health. Updated clinical guidance converges on a multidisciplinary model with comprehensive psychosocial assessment, psycho-education, family involvement and support for coping with stigma, with careful exploration of gender identity over time. Conclusion: A multidisciplinary, exploratory and gender‑affirming care pathway for adolescents with gender dysphoria, centered on psychosocial assessment and support, active involvement of families, and, where indicated, staged medical interventions.

Abstract

The increasing life expectancy has led to a growing elderly population and a higher demand for long-term care, including in Turi District, Sleman. Older adults with high levels of dependency are at greater risk of experiencing geriatric emergencies such as falls, stroke, heart attacks, choking, and other acute conditions. These emergency situations often require a rapid response from family caregivers, who in reality frequently neglected.This study aimed to explore caregivers’ experiences in managing geriatric emergencies among older adults requiring long-term home care. A qualitative study with a phenomenological was conducted. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions involving 14 informants, consisting of six family caregivers of older adults receiving long-term care and eight elderly community health volunteers from Girikerto and Bangunkerto villages. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis with the assistance of NVivo 12 software. The findings revealed that emergency management by caregivers was often suboptimal and faced several barriers, including limited knowledge, fear of providing first aid, lack of training, inadequate equipment and facilities, and limited access to health services. Despite these challenges, caregivers demonstrated strong responsibility and commitment. The study recommends training and support to improve caregivers’ skills and confidence in delivering appropriate emergency care
