Abstract

Desynchronization between incoming containers and lifting forks prior to the starwheel is a common source of misalignment, container drops, and excessive mechanical load in 19-L bottled water filling lines. This study proposes a low-cost retrofit system that integrates a photodiode sensor with timer–relay logic to regulate start–stop motor control based on the real-time fork position. The system was implemented upstream of the filling station and evaluated during a three-week trial in an operating commercial facility. Results showed that the intervention reduced average starwheel load from 7.54 kg to 2.30 kg and decreased container-fall incidents by approximately 50%. In addition, the modification eliminated the need for one operator per shift, corresponding to annual labor savings of more than IDR 150 million and a payback period of less than one month. These findings demonstrate that photodiode-based synchronization can provide an industry-validated, cost-effective retrofit solution for packaging operations without the requirement for PLC reprogramming or major structural modification. Future work will address long-term durability, adaptability to different container geometries, and the potential integration of feedback and monitoring functions.

Abstract

As the regional organization responsible for fulfilling the community's water demands, the Municipal Waterworks in Indonesia, Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum (PDAM), is expected to ensure consistent and equitable distribution of clean water. However, water leaks and other issues in PDAMs tend to reduce the amount of water distributed to the community. An initiative to address water demands at the provincial level has been implemented, placing specific emphasis on the distribution of bulk water across regencies and cities. This initiative is classified as a fundamental service under the Minimum Service Standards (MSS), which aim to improve the availability of water resources. STELLA 9.1.3 software is used in this study to run a policy model simulation and determine the best possible policy scenario for clean water management in Sleman Regency. Sleman Regency is expected to have a water deficit of 144 liters per second in 2035, according to water balance modeling conducted under Business as Usual (BaU) conditions. According to the policy scenario simulation results, show that reducing air leakage by up to 20% and implementing a strategy for maximizing air flow utilization (100%) between districts/cities can increase water availability by 283.72 liters per second.

Abstract

The 21st-century skills needed to face the speed of understanding technology. Such as critical thinking in computer vision and robotics literacy, any student is hampered by the programming that is considered complicated. This study aims at the improvement of student embedded system programming competency with computer vision and mobile robotics integration approach. This method is proposed to attract the students to learn about embedded system programming by delivering integration between computer vision and robotics using the P-D controller since both of the fields are closely related. In this paper, the researcher described computer vision programming to get the data of captured images through the camera stream and then delivered the data into an embedded system to make the decision of robot movement. The output of this study is the improvement of a student’s ability to make an application to integrate a sensor system using a camera and the mobile robot running follow the line. The result of the test shows that the integration method between computer vision and robotics can improve the student’s programming comprehension by 40%. Based on the Feasibility test survey, it can be interpreted that from the whole assessment after being converted to qualitative data, all aspects of the learning stages of programming application tested with the integration of computer vision and robotics fall into the very feasible category for used with a percentage of feasibility by 77.44%.

Abstract

Digital transformation is driving significant changes in various organizational functions, including in the procurement process. Traditional procurement processes  still often rely on manual activities and limited data analysis that can hinder organizational productivity. This study aims to analyze the role  of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in increasing procurement productivity  through the use of data analysis and procurement process automation. The research method used is a literature study by examining various studies related to the implementation of AI in Procurement and supply chain management published in the period 2020–2026. The results of the study show that AI technology such as machine learning, predictive analytics, and intelligent automation is able to improve the efficiency of the procurement process through predicting  needs, automatic supplier evaluation, and data-based decision-making. AI implementation also contributes to reducing human error, increasing transparency, and accelerating the procurement cycle. Thus, the integration of AI in the Procurement system  can increase organizational productivity and support digital transformation in supply chain management.

Abstract

This study proposes a Hybrid Machine Unlearning framework that combines Reverse Gradient Descent (RGD) and Image Obfuscation to enable selective and privacy-preserving forgetting in deep neural networks without full retraining. The proposed method introduces a dual-layer mechanism that operates at both the model level, by reversing gradient updates to remove target class contribution, and the data level, by applying visual obfuscation to eliminate identifiable features prior to unlearning. Experiments were conducted on a subset of the Labeled Faces in the Wild (LFW) dataset containing 96 identity classes, evaluated under two unlearning scenarios with 5 and 10 target classes. Quantitative results show that pure RGD achieved values between 0.10–0.19 and 0.03–0.06 for the respective scenarios, while the hybrid RGD+Obfuscation configuration strengthened the forgetting effect up to 0.82 on MobileNetV2 and 0.26 on ResNet architectures. Model stability remained high, with below 0.27, indicating minimal degradation of non-target representations. The hybrid method achieved an unlearning time of 2–6s per epoch, with an additional 50–65% computational cost due to blurring and pixelation operations yet maintained an 80–90% reduction in total runtime compared to full retraining. These results demonstrate that the proposed hybrid approach effectively enhances forgetting strength while maintaining retention stability and computational efficiency. The method provides a scalable and resource-efficient solution for privacy-aware continual learning and AI lifecycle management, where fast and controlled machine unlearning is required without compromising model integrity.

Abstract

Acidizing treatment is commonly used to solve scale problem on production equipment. In this process, Hydrochloric acid (HCl) is often used to treat CaCO3 scale, posing the risk of pipe corrosion due to its high corrosive characteristics. Thus, the purpose of this study was to determine the impact of adding EDTA additive into HCl solution during the acidifying treatment procedure. The methodology included various stages such as scale identification, chemical scale removal test using 7.5% and 15% HCL solution, 15% HCl solution test with EDTA as an additive, and corrosion determination using corrosion coupon. The results showed that 15% HCl solution was very effective in removing CaCO3 scale but had a high corrosion rate of 186.255 mpy. Furthermore, the addition of 10 mL EDTA solution as an additive removed scale and reduced corrosion rate by approximately 85%.
