Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to analyze the needs for the development of Islamic Bank Lab learning media. in Politeknik Negeri Bandung. The stages of research on needs analysis of teaching media development carried out were: data collection, data analysis and document review, identification of actors, and making use case diagrams. The analysis was carried out on the current system using PIECES analysis. The results of the PIECES analysis are made in tabular form. In addition, a functional and non-functional requirements analysis was also carried out. Identification of actors who will play a role in teaching media is described in the form of use case diagrams. The results of the PIECES analysis show that a system is needed that can accommodate practical learning in the lab. Islamic banks that can be accessed by students from anywhere in real time, fast and easy to use by all actors involved. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an information system as a learning medium in the Islamic Bank lab. Politeknik Negeri Bandung.

Abstract

COVID-19 pandemic has transformed numerous activities, including training, which now held frequently with online learning. Web development training is one of training activities carried out in accordance with SKKNI standard, which’s greatly required in digital era. This web development training is delivered by the organizers and partners from universities. One of them is the Bandung State Polytechnic's Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics (JTK POLBAN). The training consists of five different activities: preparation, pre-test, implementation, post-test, and evaluation. This training was delivered utilizing various learning methods and the effectiveness of training was evaluated using pre-test and post-test results. Based on the results of the questionnaire, it know that Project Based Learning (PjBL) had the greatest impact on students’ ability to master subject. The effectiveness of learning for web development training using PjBL with online learning is deemed less effective,because the value only increases by 4.81% from pre-test to post-test. The number of participants was decreased by 65.91% after it was implemented. This was influenced by various factors, including technology, psychology, finance, time management, and balancing daily activities with education. Improving learning effectiveness can be accomplished by condensing implementation’s schedule to accommodate the endurance of participants from generation Z / iGen. ABSTRAKPandemi COVID-19 mengubah berbagai macam pelaksanaan kegiatan, termasuk kegiatan pelatihan yang saat ini sering diselengarakan dengan pembelajaran online. Pelatihan pengembangan web merupakan salah satu kegiatan pelatihan yang dilaksanakan dengan standar SKKNI yang diperlukan pada era digital. Pelatihan pengembangan web ini dilakukan oleh penyelenggara dan bekerja sama dengan mitra perguruan tinggi, dimana salah satunya adalah Jurusan Teknik Komputer & Informatika Politeknik Negeri Bandung (JTK POLBAN). Pelatihan dibagi menjadi 5 macam kegiatan yaitu, persiapan, pre-test, pelaksanaan, post-test dan evaluasi. Pelatihan ini dilakukan dengan berbagai metode pembelajaran yang kemudian diukur Efektivitasnya menggunakan nilai pre-test dan post-test. Berdasarkan hasil pengukuran melalui kuesioner diketahui bahwa yang paling mempengaruhi penguasaan materi adalah Project Based Learning (PjBL). Efektivitas pembelajaran untuk pelatihan pengembangan web menggunakan PjBL secara online dinilai kurang efektif, hal ini dikarenakan hanya terdapat peningkatan nilai sebesar 4,81% dari pre-test terhadap post-test. Pelaksanaan pelatihan secara online ini juga mengalami penurunan jumlah peserta sebesar 65,91%, hal ini dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor penghambat yang dihadapi peserta seperti teknologi, psikologis, keuangan, manajemen waktu, dan keseimbangan antara kegiatan sehari-hari dengan pendidikan. Peningkatan efektivitas pembelajaran dapat dilakukan dengan cara memadatkan jadwal pelaksanaan yang menyesuaikan dengan daya tahan dari peserta yang berasal dari generasi Z / iGen.Kata Kunci: Project Based Learning; Pelatihan Pengembangan Web; SKKNI; Pembelajaran Online; Efektivitas Pembelajaran.

Abstract

Data management technology that continues to develop and boost the popularity of document-based not only structured query language (NoSQL) has become the most-used data model. Behind its popularity, data management technology offers an intriguing advantage, namely flexible data storage, whether in terms of data forms and sizes or structured and unstructured data. However, this data modeling flexibility has its challenge due to its impact on more complex scheme creations, without being accompanied by any need-based design patterns. This study aims to model relational data on the document-based NoSQL at its conceptual, logical, and physical levels. The conceptual design was developed based on processes, rules, and business requirements. The logical and physical designs were developed based on the extended references and computed design patterns determined from the operating workload. The relational data model design on the document-based NoSQL was successfully formed using the entity relationship diagram (ERD) with Chen notation for the conceptual, and collection relationship diagram (CRD) for both logical and physical levels. The conceptual design focused on the representation of entities, attributes, and relationships. Unlike the conceptual design which tends to be abstract, the focus of the logical design is on the collection schema (embedded and reference) representation, including design patterns influenced by the formation of relationships. Furthermore, the focus of physical level design is to represent the schema in a more concrete form. The physical design is almost the same as the logical one, the difference lies only in the detail addition for data types and structures. The evaluation of data model designs was also carried out for each level. This study contributes to designing a data model with the advantage of read-intensive capability since a joint operation among collections is not required and the computation process recurrence for derivative attributes is not necessary.

Abstract

Abstract : Business process modeling in application software development, especially during the analysis phase, is essential for a deep understanding of the problem domain. By understanding the business process, developers can identify important elements in a project or things that hinder the progress of a process, and communicate them to stakeholders. Model-Based Requirements Engineering (MBRE) uses formal models to define, analyze, and manage software requirements, offering advantages over text-based methods. This study compares various MBRE diagrams such as Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN), Flowmap, Swimlane, Use Case, Sequence, and Activity diagrams, using a case study of a final project (TA) management application at JTK Polban. The results show that BPMN is the most suitable model, as it represents processes sequentially, is easily understood by stakeholders, and supports validation with other tools. BPMN implementation is expected to be a key reference in application development at JTK Polban.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on many sectors, including higher education. Various public opinions about higher education have emerged on social media during the pandemic, with varying foci of discussion. The purpose of this study is twofold. The first is to compare the results of semantic data analysis with and without stemming. Second, to determine the topic of discussion among Twitter users about higher education. This study was carried out by collecting tweet data for a year during the pandemic, from March 2020 to March 2021. The data then pre-processed using a combination of methods to ensure that there was minimal noise data. The analysis is performed using information theory, bigram phrases, semantic relationship analysis between words, and visualized using gephi in the final stage. The findings of this study explain in detail why the stemming method cannot be used directly for preprocessing data that requires semantic understanding. Data visualization also reveals that Twitter users who talk about higher education are more concerned with campus life and new student admissions. This research evaluates the stemming process because the results show that using stemming eliminates semantic meaning between words. Abstract

Website merupakan salah satu media online untuk memberikan informasi pada pihak internal maupun eksternal. Salah satu upaya untuk memperluas jangkauan area promosi adalah melalui media online. Salah satunya dengan pembuatan profil sekolah melalui website. Website dapat digunakan sebagai sarana penyampaian informasi dari pihak internal kepada eksternal. Saat ini MTs fatahillah sudah memiliki website, namun masih terdaftar dalam blogspot dan belum memiliki nama domain sendiri. Tampilan website saat ini masih belum menunjukkan profil sekolah. Dengan demikian pengabdian ini mengusulkan tentang rancang bangun website informasi sekolah. Metode pengembangan website menggunakan metode software development life cycle yaitu identifikasi masalah, pengumpulan data, analisis kebutuhan, perancangan website dan implementasi dan testing. Hasil dari rancang bangun website memperlihat 5 perbedaan antara website saat ini dengan website yang sudah dikembangkan. Hasil uji coba kepada mitra menunjukkan bahwa website telah sesuai harapan dan dapat dioperasikan dengan baik oleh pihak sekolah, yaitu dengan nilai skor rata-rata diatas 3,22 sebagai feedback dari mitra.

Abstract

Bandung State Polytechnic has implemented project-oriented problem-based learning as its new educational approach. Project 6, or Final Project, is a course that communicates student learning results. Documenting seminar events is crucial as it provides valuable resources for students to analyze seminar outcomes and address any inquiries from teachers. However, not all students are inherently proactive in documenting or recording these activities. The task of transcribing learning outcomes becomes distinct when the emphasis is placed on students. This study aims to develop and evaluate a speech-to-text model utilizing DeepSpeech for transcribing seminar presentations related to final year projects, tackling the difficulties presented by spontaneous speech patterns and specialized technical terminology in software engineering. The model is trained and assessed utilizing Word Error Rate (WER) and Character Error Rate (CER) measures. The results of this study are the development of speech-to-text systems for educational purposes, especially within project-based student-centered learning. These resulting transcriptions could benefit both students and educators by offering a searchable and analyzable account of seminar presentations and improving feedback.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Named Entity Recognition (NER) model based on Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) to extract direct quotes from Indonesian news articles, with a focus on enhancing the Medmon system by Kabayan Group, which is used to monitor the public image of public figures and brands. The study is limited to Indonesian news articles and does not include other languages or news sources. Two models are compared in this research: one utilizing static word embedding Word2Vec and the other using contextual word embedding BERT. The experiment was conducted using PFSA-ID corpus, which consist 1,018 Indonesian news articles annotated for direct quotes using BILOU scheme. Both models were trained and evaluated using Python programming libraries such as Pytorch and Hugging Face Transformers. The results show that the BERT model outperforms Word2Vec, with an F1-Score difference of 14.03 points. The BERT model achieved a highest F1-Score of 92.28%, while Word2Vec only reached 78.05%. This research contributes to the field of online media monitoring by improving the efficiency and accuracy of direct quote extraction in Indonesian news, offering practical value for media analysts and organizations relying on automated media analysis

Abstract

Al-Imam Al-Islami Islamic Boarding School (ponpes) located in Cikembar, Sukabumi, West Java is an educational institution. Al-Imam Al-Islam Islamic Boarding School has been established since 1994. One of the important activities at the Islamic boarding school is managing and issuing (generating) santri passports. Currently, Islamic boarding schools still experience several problems in managing and publishing report cards, including human error because they still use conventional methods using the Excel office application; and the process of issuing report cards is quite long because report card data is not stored in one place. Web application development is aimed at overcoming these problems, through the capability to minimize human error with management support in setting user access rights based on roles or assignments, centralized data storage, and support for the data recapitulation process to speed up the issuance of report cards. This application development method consists of nine stages, namely: (1) Problem Identification; (2) Literature Study; (3) Data Collection; (4) Needs Analysis; (5) Application Design; (6) Application Implementation; (7) Application Testing and Improvement; (8) Assistance in using the application; and (9) Preparation of Output Documentation. The result of this activity is an appropriate technology product in the form of a web application for managing and publishing Islamic boarding school report cards, accompanied by modules and handouts for users using instructions and technical management of the application. Based on test results and use by users, this application has made it easier for Islamic boarding schools to manage and publish Islamic boarding school report cards. As a community service activity, a web-based application for managing and publishing report cards has been adopted and utilized directly by Islamic boarding schools as user partners.
