Abstract

This study aims to describe both fact and concept error of students in solving space analytic geometry problems. The subjects of this research are two students of Mathematics Department of Universitas Negeri Makassar. Each of them represents for each error (fact and concept errors). The collecting data were employed by using space analytic geometric tests and depth-interview. Interview guidelines and researcher were as research instruments. Data were qualitatively analyzed, using three stages of analysis: data reduction, data display and concluding. The main findings of this research are (1) the subject of fact error made mistakes in writing vector symbols, (2) the subjects of concept error made mistakes in identifying an equation (plane equation or line equation), since his focus was only in the number of variables of the equation.Keywords: fact error, concept error, space analytic geometry

Abstract

Abstrak: Studi ini ditujukan untuk menggambarkan kesalahan operasi dan kesalahan prinsip mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal geometri analitik ruang. Subjek dari penelitian ini terdiri dari dua mahasiswa Jurusan Matematika Universitas Negeri Makassar. Setiap kesalahan diwakili dengan satu mahasiswa sebagai subjek penelitian. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes dan wawancara mendalam. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah pedoman wawancara dan peneliti. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif, dengan menggunakan tiga tahapan analisis: reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) subjek untuk kesalahan operasi salah dalam pengoperasian aritmatika bentuk aljabar yaitu subjek lupa mengoperasikan sebagian dari bilangan atau variabel; dan (2) subjek untuk kesalahan prinsip menganggap bahwa vektor normal setiap bidang sisi tegak prisma saling tegak lurus. Abstract: This study aims to describe both operation and principle errors of students in solving space analytic geometry problems. The collecting data were employed by using a tests and a depth-interview. Instruments of this research are Interview guidelines and researcher. Data were qualitatively analyzed, using three stages of analysis: data reduction, data display and concluding. The results of this research are (1) the subject of operation error made mistakes in operating of algebra forms such as forgetting to operate a part of number or variable (2) the subjects of principle error assume that the normal vectors of each side of prisme are perpendicular.

Abstract

Abstrak. Tulisan ini membahas tentang teorema titik tetap untuk pemetaan bernilai himpuanan dengan domain berupa subset dari suatu ruang b-metrik. Hasil yang diperoleh merupakan pengembangan dari hasil yang telah diperoleh pada literatur terdahulu. Kata kunci: b-metrik, pemetaan bernilai himpuan, teorema titik tetap. Abstract. This paper study about fixed point theorem for set-valued maps where its domain is subset of a b-metric space. The result is improvement from the literature. Abstract

Banach contraction mapping has main role in nonlinear analysis courses and has been modified to get new kind of generalizations in some abstract spaces to produce many fixed point theory. Fixed point theory has been proved in partial metric spaces and b-metric spaces as generalizations of metric spaces to obtain new theorems. In addition, using modified of contraction mapping we get some fixed point that have been used to solve differential equations or integral equations, and have many applications. Therefore, this area is actively studied by many researchers. The goal of this article is present and prove some fixed point theorems for extension of contraction mapping in α, β partial b-metric spaces. In this research, we learn about notions of b-metric spaces and partial metric that are combined to generated partial b-metric spaces from many literatures. Afterwards, generalizations are made to get α, β partial b-metric spaces. Using the properties of convergence, Cauchy sequences, and notions of completeness in α, β partial b-metric spaces, we prove some fixed point theorem. Fixed point theory that we generated used C-contraction mapping and its generalizations with some conditions. Existence and uniqueness of fixed point raised for some restrictions of α, β conditions. Some corollaries of main results are also proved. Our main theorems extend and increase some existence in the previous results.©2022 JNSMR UIN Walisongo. All rights reserved.

Abstract

This service is conducted in Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi Province. It is motivated by several issues faced by our partners, including the limited knowledge of teachers in utilizing Zotero through Microsoft Word for automatic reference citations, the relatively low awareness of the basic applications for referencing among teachers, and the need for teachers to prepare themselves in creating automated references. Therefore, the objective of this activity is to address these partner-related issues. The methods employed include outreach and teaching, discussions, and collaborative training between the implementers and the partners. The training participants are middle school math teachers from Takalar Regency, members of the Mathematics Subject Teachers' Meeting organization (MGMP Matematika SMP). Through this activity, it is expected that teachers' knowledge in utilizing the Zotero application will increase, raising awareness and understanding among teachers about the importance of flexible and automatic reference application usage, enhancing teachers' insight, abilities, and skills in utilizing Microsoft Word to be more informative and innovative.

Abstract

The preparation assistance for Olimpiade Nasional Matematika dan IPA – Perguran Tinggi (ONMIPA-PT) 2023 in the field of mathematics is an effort to enhance the mathematical skills of students so they can compete in the competition organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. This assistance is considered necessary because the Universitas Fajar itself does not have a specific mathematics-related program of study. The assistance provided includes giving combinatorics material to selected Universitas Fajar students. Additionally, students are given practice to sharpen their understanding of the provided material. This competition consists of three stages: the university-level selection, the regional-level selection, and the national-level selection. This activity is seen as having provided students with additional knowledge about certain combinatorics topics which they did not previously have access to at their campus, as well as an introduction to simple types of combinatorial problems that typically appear during the regional-level selection. Abstract

Preparation of students to participate in the 2023 National Mathematics and Science Olympiad for Higher Education (ONMIPA-PT) in the field of mathematics is an effort to develop students' abilities in mathematics so they can compete with students from other universities under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. This effort is specifically undertaken considering that the Universitas Muslim Indonesia does not yet have a mathematics program or similar, thus there are no students with sufficient mathematical foundations to participate in this competition. The preparation activity is attended by 5 student representatives and accompanied by a mentor. Mentorship involves explanations of the basics of mathematical subjects and providing practice problems to sharpen students' mathematical abilities. This preparation is conducted from May 15 to 24, 2023, in two stages. The first stage is held online via Zoom meetings and followed by the second stage offline at the Whiz Prime Hotel Sudirman Makassar. Through this preparation, students have gained new knowledge related to the mathematics topics competed in ONMIPA-PT such as combinatorics, linear algebra, and real analysis.

Abstract

The community service activity conducted involved training in inventory recording, financial recording, and inputting product prices for the employees of Fitry Bakery & Cake, a business unit located in Gowa. The aim of this training was to improve efficiency and accuracy in inventory and financial management using Microsoft Excel, as well as updating product prices on their website aplikasi. The training was conducted online via Google Meet on December 30, 2023, and lasted for one day. After participating in the training, all participants demonstrated a good understanding of the material presented. In the introduction to Microsoft Excel, participants were able to understand and use the Excel interface and basic functions such as SUM, AVERAGE, and IF. For inventory recording, participants successfully managed inventory tables using filter and sort features and recorded product details accurately. In financial recording, participants were able to create and perform financial recapitulation. As for inputting product prices on the website aplikasi, participants successfully simulated inputting product prices on the website aplikasi effectively.

Abstract

The community service activities carried out at Madrasah Arifah for the MTs level aim to enhance the quality of students in competing in the field of mathematics and improve the skills of mathematics teachers in providing guidance to their students. These activities are considered crucial, given that at the MTs level, there are at least two popular competitions, namely the National Science Competition (KSN) and the Madrasah Science Competition (KSM). To achieve these goals, guidance is provided to students involving their mathematics teachers. When students receive guidance, their mathematics teachers also participate in the same class to listen to the material and observe the guidance process. The involvement of teachers in guiding students is expected to contribute to the additional skills of teachers in guiding students. Students who participate in this mentoring program take part in KSN and KSM, achieving success up to the Provincial level in the KSM selection stage and not progressing to the Provincial level in the KSN.

Abstract

This research examines the determination of LPG gas distribution routes. The study is conducted on data collected by Elia Resita Ningrum in her research titled "Optimizing LPG Gas Distribution Routes Using the Floyd Warshall Algorithm and the Greedy Algorithm." This data is processed using different methods with the aim of obtaining better LPG gas distribution routes. The method to be used is the Prim algorithm, followed by route improvement through edge exchange in the graph. The Prim algorithm is used to obtain a minimum spanning tree. From this minimum spanning tree, one of the distribution routes is selected, namely v_1-v_2-v_3-v_4-v_8-v_4-v_10-v_11-v_10-v_4-v_5-v_6-v_7-v_9-v_12-v_13-v_14 with a total weight of 11.26. Route improvement is then carried out by exchanging edges in the graph, resulting in a new route, namely v_1-v_2-v_8-v_4-v_10-v_11-v_10-v_4-v_5-v_6-v_7-v_9-v_12-v_13-v_14 with a total weight of 10.91. This result is better than the result obtained by Elia Resita Ningrum with a total weight of 11.13. Based on the results obtained, for the case of LPG gas distribution by PT Petro Jaya Gas, the use of the Prim algorithm with route improvement through edge exchange produces better routes compared to the use of the Floyd Warshall Algorithm and the Greedy Algorithm conducted by Elia Resita Ningrum.
