Abstract

The Community Partnership Program (PKM) activities are carried out in Bantaeng Regency, South Sulawesi Province. The partners in this PKM activity are the teachers from the Mathematics Subject Teachers' Meeting (MGMP) at junior high schools (SMP) in Bantaeng Regency. However, in its implementation, in addition to SMP teachers, it is also attended by elementary school (SD), high school (SMA), and vocational high school (SMK) teachers. Among the objectives of this program are a) Socializing open-source software LibreOffice as an alternative to licensed Microsoft Office software; b) Providing knowledge to partners about the installation of LibreOffice software and the basics of using LibreOffice Writer. Some of the issues faced by the partners include a) knowledge about open-source software; b) Installation and basics of using LibreOffice Writer. This socialization and training are carried out for a group of partners, consisting of approximately 11 people, through online sessions via Zoom meetings. The expected outcomes are an understanding of the socialization materials, the installation of the application, and the basics of using the LibreOffice Writer application.

Abstract

In these notes, comments will be provided on the paper by Herdiana et al. (Jurnal IlmiahMatematika dan Pendidikan Matematika: 15(2), 2023). In that paper, a definition of the derivativeof a function in a metric space is given, along with properties involving discrete metric spaces. Thepurpose of these notes is to comment on the section involving discrete metric spaces, specificallywhere a derivative is defined for functions in a discrete metric space, despite that discrete metricspaces do not have limit points. Additionally, if certain modifications are made to the definition ofthe derivative to accommodate discrete metric spaces, it would result in the derivative values notbeing unique. This makes the discussion of the derivative of functions in discrete metric spacesmeaningless.

Abstract

The problem that often occurs in the process of distributing goods is that the distribution route is not optimal which results in higher costs and longer travel times. This can be solved by finding the shortest path that can be passed or widely recognized as the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP). This study aims to determine the optimal distribution route for goods using a combination of the Branch and Bound and Cheapest Insertion Heuristic algorithms. The data used are in the form of location names and distances between locations that have been collected by Putra BJ Bangun in his research entitled Solving the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) with the Branch and Bound Method (Application of the Palembang Post Office Goods Transportation Problem). The results of the research indicate that the optimal route for the distribution of goods at the Palembang City Post Office, using a combination of both algorithms, is: KPRK Palembang → KPC Kapt A. Rivai → KPC Pakjo → KPC Talang Ratu → KPC Sukarami → KPC Alang Lebar → KPC Sekip → KPC Cinde → KPRK Palembang, spanning a total of 24.3 km. This route can be an alternative for salesmen to visit several KPCs and return to KPRK, with more efficient costs and time because it is the shortest route. In addition, this combination of algorithms is more efficient and simpler in terms of processing steps and computing time compared to using the Branch and Bound algorithm.Keywords: Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP), Branch and Bound, Cheapest Insertion Heuristic, Algorithm Combination, Optimal.

Abstract

This paper discusses the determination of the LPG Gas distribution route using the concept of the Traveling Salesman Problem. The research data is secondary data obtained from a previous study, where in that study, the generated routes had different starting and ending points. However, in this research, the sought-after routes are those with the same starting and ending points. Such routes are sought with the consideration that in a travel route, the starting and ending points are usually the same. The Traveling Salesman Problem method used in determining these routes is the Branch and Bound algorithm combined with the Cheapest Insertion Heuristic. The distribution route obtained is v1 – v2 – v6 – v11 – v10 – v7 – v9 – v12 – v13 – v14 – v13 – v12 – v9 – v8 – v4 – v5 – v4 – v3 – v2 – v1.

Abstract

This research examines the determination of LPG gas distribution routes. The study is conducted on data collected by Elia Resita Ningrum in her research titled "Optimizing LPG Gas Distribution Routes Using the Floyd Warshall Algorithm and the Greedy Algorithm." This data is processed using different methods with the aim of obtaining better LPG gas distribution routes. The method to be used is the Prim algorithm, followed by route improvement through edge exchange in the graph. The Prim algorithm is used to obtain a minimum spanning tree. From this minimum spanning tree, one of the distribution routes is selected, namely v_1-v_2-v_3-v_4-v_8-v_4-v_10-v_11-v_10-v_4-v_5-v_6-v_7-v_9-v_12-v_13-v_14 with a total weight of 11.26. Route improvement is then carried out by exchanging edges in the graph, resulting in a new route, namely v_1-v_2-v_8-v_4-v_10-v_11-v_10-v_4-v_5-v_6-v_7-v_9-v_12-v_13-v_14 with a total weight of 10.91. This result is better than the result obtained by Elia Resita Ningrum with a total weight of 11.13. Based on the results obtained, for the case of LPG gas distribution by PT Petro Jaya Gas, the use of the Prim algorithm with route improvement through edge exchange produces better routes compared to the use of the Floyd Warshall Algorithm and the Greedy Algorithm conducted by Elia Resita Ningrum. Abstract

The concept of convexity is a fundamental pillar in optimization theory and inequality analysis. This article aims to review the history and classical definition of convex functions through a literature-based approach. The literature reviewed includes works by Jensen [1], Rockafellar [2], Boyd & Vandenberghe [3], and Niculescu & Persson [4]. The analysis highlights the connection between the geometric definition of convex functions and Jensen's inequality, which demonstrates the consistency of inequality structures in both deterministic and probabilistic contexts. This study emphasizes that Jensen's inequality not only extends the concept of convex functions in probability theory but also strengthens the understanding of its geometric definition in classical analysis. This article is intended to serve as an introduction for students and researchers wishing to comprehend the foundational structure of convexity in modern mathematical theory.

Abstract

ONMIPA-PT merupakan salah satu kompetisi ilmiah tingkat nasional. ONMIPA-PT melibatkan beberapa bidang dan di antaranya adalah Matematika. Soal-soal pada kompetisi tersebut merupakan soal non-rutin dan lebih mendalam dibandingkan soal pada buku teks standar. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya pendampingan sebelum mengikuti ONMIPA-PT terlebih bahwa Universitas Fajar belum memiliki program studi Matematika. Kegiatan pendampingan persiapan ONMIPA-PT diikuti oleh 3 orang perwakilan mahasiswa dan didampingi oleh dua orang mentor. Pendampingan dilaksanakan dalam dua bagian, yaitu bagian pertama yang dilakukan secara offline di kampus Universitas Fajar dan secara online melalui aplikasi google meet. Pendampingan bertujuan untuk menambah dan memaksimalkan pengetahuan, pemahaman, dan pengalaman atas materi terkait untuk mengikuti ONMIPA-PT. Materi yang diajarkan pada pendampingan ini berfokus pada materi Kombinatorik dan Aljabar Linear yang merupakan dua dari lima materi yang diujikan pada kompetisi ini. Hasil kegiatan pendampingan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap materi yang dikompetisikan. Meski demikian, belum ada perwakilan yang lolos ke tingkat nasional.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di Kabupaten Pangkep, Sulawesi Selatan. Mitra kegiatan ini adalah sebanyak 14 orang anggota MGMP Matematika SMA di Kabupaten Pangkep. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah menyelesaikan masalah mitra tentang cara mengintegrasikan nilai Islam ke dalam materi pelajaran matematika. Untuk itu, dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan ini, langkah-langkah dalam memberikan solusi masalah mitra mengadaptasi model pembelajaran langsung, di mana salah satu sintaksnya adalah mendemonstrasikan pengetahuan tentang model-model integrasi nilai Islam ke dalam materi pelajaran matematika secara benar, serta menyajikan proses integrasi nilai Islam dalam materi pelajaran matematika langkah demi langkah (step-by-step) secara benar. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa secara umum peserta puas terhadap semua elemen dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan, baik dipandang dari elemen materi yang disampaikan oleh kedua pemateri, maupun dari elemen kemampuan pemateri menyampaikan materinya. Namun demikian, ada kekurangpuasan oleh sebagian kecil peserta terhadap elemen sarana dan penyelenggaraan kegiatan ini, terutama mengenai durasi waktu pelaksanaan kegiatan yang relatif singkat.

Abstract

Artikel ini adalah studi literatur tentang mendefinisikan faktorial dalam domain nyata. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menurunkan rumus aproksimasi faktorial yang dinyatakan sebagai  dengan menggunakan pendekatan analitis. Makalah ini diawali dengan asumsi bahwa rumus faktorial rekursif tetap berlaku pada domain riil, kemudian digunakan untuk mengkonstruksi rumus aproksimasi . Selanjutnya, makalah ini juga mengaitkan hasil dari bentuk aproksimasi faktorial dengan representasi integral yang relevan, seperti fungsi gamma.

Abstract

In this paper, we conduct a comprehensive study on the boundedness properties of commutators generated by a BMO function and generalized Calderón-Zygmund operator. Specifically, we analyze their mapping behavior from a generalized weighted Morrey space to another generalized weighted Morrey spaces under some conditions on the parameters. Our main objective is to establish novel and refined conditions on the pair of parameter functions that guarantee the boundedness of these commutators on the spaces. The findings presented in this work contribute to a deeper understanding of the interplay between function spaces, weight conditions, and the structure of commutators in harmonic analysis.
