Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengisolasi dan menentukan struktur metabolit sekunder hasil hidrolisis buah pakoba putih. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan menggunakan kromatografi lapis tipis dan kromatografi kolom grafitasi. Hasil isolasi diperoleh isolat sebanyak 1,2 mg. Spektrum resonansi inti proton isolat menunjukkan adanya sinyal-sinyal pada pergeseran kimia 9,61 ppm untuk proton karboksilat (H-karboksilat); 6,52 ppm dan 7,21 ppm untuk Haromatik; 3,71 ppm dan 3,82 ppm untuk H-metoksi. Spektrum resonanasi magnetik inti karbon menunjukkan adanya sinyal-sinyal pada pergeseran kimia 170,64 ppm untuk C-karboksilat; 67,31 ppm untuk C-OH; 52,19 ppm dan 57,83 ppm untuk OCH3. Berdasarkan nilai pergeseran kimia spektrum RMI-1H dan RMI-13C dapat diusulkan struktur dari isolat adalah kelompok senyawa turunan asam orselinat dengan nama 2,4-dimetoksi-6-metil-benzoat.

Abstract

This experiment aimed to reveal the effect of serum G-antigen of M. domesticainsect larvae (LAS) as promoter antigen on serum immunoglobulin production in organically managed goat livestock. This study used 12 local goats which were divided into two groups: as a control group and treated group receiving treatment. Insect rearing was conducted to obtain the larvae, the antigen-G was then extracted from the larvae to be used as promoter antigen to enhance the serum antibody production which was subcutaneously immunized in experimental goats and incubated for a period of 14 days. Blood collection of 2.5 ml was taken through the jugular vein and then carried out a quantification of serum protein level indicating the antibody proportion of goats. The data of the LSA extract proportion level were statistically analyzed with t-test, and the quality classification level of serum immunoglobulin of animal groups were statistically analysed. The results showed that the serum of animal treated with LSA of M. domesticaresulted in a higher level of immunoglobulin (P <0.01) compared to the control. We conclude that the antigen-g substance (LSA) could support the efforts to improve the production of organic goat livestock by increasing the total level of antibodies circulating in the blood.

Abstract

OVARIUM RESPONSE OF LIMOUSIN COWS AND SIMMENTAL COWS ON  FOLLICLE STIMULATING HORMONE INDUCTION. To assess the effect of FSH administration on ovarian response rates. and to examine the effect of synchronizing follicular waves on ovarian response rates and the acquisition of embryos that are worthy of transfer. This research was carried out at the Laboratory of Embryo Production of Livestock Embryo Hall Cipelang Cijeruk district, Bogor regency, for 30 days. The materials used in this research were 50 cattle consisting of 25 female Limousin cows and 25 Simmental female cows at the aged around 5-7 years. They have given birth, and have been superovulated, at the body condition score (BCS) of 2.5-3.0, at the healthy and given forage and concentrate (BET protocol). FSH used was the Folltropin®-V brand superovulation with a dose of 20 mg / ml, the cement used was in accordance with the type of donor cow, with a concentration of 25 x 106 spermatozoa per straw. Primary data retrieval were done by observing the focal animal sampling technique requiring direct observation in the research location where the research material was located. The variables measured were response rate, number of corpus luteum (CL) in the left and right ovaries, the total collected embryos and ovum. Superovulation using Folltropin®-V in Simmental and Limousin cattle at Cipelang Livestock Embryo gave more significantly effect on Simmental cattle compared to Limousin cattle. Limousin and Simmental cattle supplemented with the hormone Folltropin®-V produced an average number of CL, embryos and ovum in Simmental cattle higher than Limousin cattle superovulated with FSH hormone. They have also a significant effect on the response rate, recovery rate, average CL number and the average number of embryos. The results obtained showed that Limousin and Simmental cattle differences significantly affected the number of collected embryos and ovum, the proportion of transferable embryos, Degenerate (Dg) embryo proportions and unfertilized proportion of Embryo Unfertilized (UF).Keywords: Limousin cows, Simmental cows, Superovulasi, FSH

Abstract

FRESH SEMEN CHARACTERISTICS OF LIMOUSIN AND SIMMENTAL BULLS AT THE ARTIFISIAL INSEMINATION CENTER, LEMBANG. This study was conducted to evaluate the characteristics of fresh semen in Limousin and Simmental bulls at the artificial insemination center in Lembang. Results of this study showed that ejaculation frequency of Simmental bull was significantly higher than that of Limousin with the average of 5.37 and 4.60, respectively. Variables of volume, pH and motility were not significantly different between both bulls with volume ranging of 7.17 – 7.20 ml, pH ranging of 6.65 – 6.66 and motility ranging of 58.08 – 59.29%, respectively. The fresh semen colour of Limousin and Simmental bulls were indicated by dominant color of milk white color. Semen consistency of fresh semen from both bulls was moderate. The ejaculation frequency and pH variables indicated the correlation of -0.32 in Limousine bulls, meaning that the higher the ejaculation frequency, the lower the pH  (acid), but the ejaculation frequency and motility of semen had the correlation of 0,34, indicating the more the semen ejaculation frequency, the higher the motility of spermatozoa. The motility of semen had the negative correlation with pH (-0.49). The higher the pH (base), the motility of spermatozoa tended to decline. Simmental bull showed also that semen ejaculation frequency with volume had correlation of -0.40, indicating that the higher the semen ejaculation frequency yakni, the lower the semen volume. Semen ejaculation frequency had correlation of 0.5 with mortality, indicating that the higher the semen ejaculation frequency, the higher the motility of spermatozoa.Keywords: Semen, ejaculation, volume, color, consistency, pH, motility

Abstract

Study was conducted to estimate live weight of Indonesian Local-Thoroughbred racing horse using their chest girth, body length and body volume represented by chest girth and body length dimensions. Data on animal live weight (LW), body length (BL), chest girth (CG) and body volume were collected from male horses (n=188) kept by the owner club members of North Sulawesi Racing Horse. Animal body volume was calculated using cylinder volume formula with CG and BL as component factors of the formula. Data were classified on animal age basis of five groups. Regression analysis was applied for LW with all linear body measurements. Age significantly influenced all body measurements. Simple regression can be recommended to predict live weight of this animal based on body volume with their average age groups as follows: Live weight (Y in kg unit) = - 0.002+1.16 body volume (dm3) with determination coefficient (R2) of 0.98. The multiple regression can also be recommended to estimate accurately live weight of this animal at age average groups as follows: Live weight (Y in kg unit) = - 0.11 - 2.74 chest girth (X1 in cm unit) + 4.92 body length (X2 in cm unit) with R2 of 0.98.

Abstract

In Manado City flood problem is one of the main problem, one of the flood point is in Kelurahan Perkamil. The objective of implementing the appropriate technology for the biopori flood mitigation is one of the solutions empowering the community to (1) reduce the potential for flooding in Manado city, especially Perkamil village. (2) preventing worsening of environmental damage due to water-surface runoff of the ground. The specific targets to be achieved (1) reduce the flow of land surface water from residential or residential areas; (2) Improve soil texture with organic waste material so that the rate of water catchment into the soil increases, this has an impact on the mitigation of water flow runoff and underground water conservation. The implementation method is to conduct training on all head of the environment and some people in the village make Biopori hole, to manage flooding and household waste with biopori technique. the depth of the biopori hole is 100 cm and a diameter of 10 cm. Materials and tools, dirt drill, paralon, and organic waste. The training results of all trainees can make biopori holes, understand their functions and benefits in mitigating flood potential, manage household organic waste and yard. Participants know that the soil can be used as a soil bio composter to produce organic compost that raw materials for household organic waste and yard.

Abstract

Of research on application of Case Based Learning Model on Material of Buffer Solution to Student Result of Class XI IPA of SMA Negeri 1 Kawangkoan. The purpose of this research is to know the difference of student learning resultusing conventional case-based learning model on buffer material. The research method used is experimental research method with the research design used is Posttest Only Control Group Design. Data collection technique is posttest. The research population is all students of SMA Negeri 1 Kawangkoan, while the samples taken are two randomly selected classes, that is class XI IPA 4 as experiment class with 25 students and class XI IPA 5 as control class with 25 students. Based on the results of research analyzed by t-test at the real level (α) = 0.05 obtained data that tcount = 2.494 and ttable = 1.677 according to the study criteria, if tcount> ttable then reject H0, so it can be concluded that there are differences in results student learning is taught by case-based learning model with student learning outcomes using conventionallearning method.
