Abstract

The questions used in the Final Semester Assessment are teacher-made questions. This study aims to determine and describe the level of Quality of Final Semester Assessment Questions Made by Chemistry Subject Teachers in Class XI MIA Senior High School in Kotawaringin Barat District in Odd Semester Academic Year 2018/2019. This research is a descriptive study. The objects in this study were questions made by the teacher and students' answers from the Final Semester Assessment Chemistry subjects in class XI MIA High School A, class XI MIA High School B, class XI MIA High School C, and Class XI MIA High School D, in the odd semester of the year 2018/2019 teachings. The research data collection technique is the documentation method. Data analysis was performed by logical review and empirical review. The results showed that the results of the logical review analysis obtained the level of concordance with the basic competencies classified as good with a percentage of 86.67%. Judging from the aspects of material, construction, and language the level of appropriateness of the questions is good with a percentage of 85.63%. The distribution of Bloom's cognitive taxonomic domains is C1 at 22.67%, C2 at 43.33%, C3 at 34%, C4 at 0%, C5 at 0%, and C6 at 0%. The quality of the chemistry PAS questions for class XI MIA made by the teacher in terms of empirical review was obtained based on the different power index, difficulty index and distractor effectiveness. Empirical review, the number of questions with very good quality there are 35 (23.33%) questions, questions with good quality there are 55 (36.67%) questions, questions with not good quality there are 57 (38%) questions, and questions with the quality is not very good there are 3 (2%) questions.

Abstract

Lewis structure is a sub-material that exists in chemical bonding material that is not mastered by students, so a diagnostic test is needed to reveal the difficulties experienced by students. This study aims to describe the difficulties of class X high school students in Palangka Raya City in understanding the concept of Lewis structure which is traced using two tier multiple choice instruments. The subjects of this study were students of class X from Public Senior High School 1 Palangka Raya, Public Senior High School 3 Palangka Raya and Public Senior High School 4 Palangka Raya with the total number of research subjects being 346 students. This research was conducted in the 2018/2019 academic year. Student difficulties were captured using the Lewis Structure Concept Understanding Test (TPKSL) in the form of reasoned multiple choice questions (Two Tier Multiple Choice) and interviews to confirm the difficulties experienced by students. The results showed that the difficulty of students in state high schools in the city of Palangka Raya in understanding the concept of Lewis structure with the smallest to the largest percentage of difficulties was to determine the electron configuration by 65.59%, determine the valence electron by 67.33%, determine the Lewis symbol by 67.33 %, and determine Lewis's structure 69.37%.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the difficulties of class XI MIPA State Senior High School students in Palangka Raya City in understanding the concept of factors that affect chemical equilibrium and the application of the principle of equilibrium reactions in industry at a microscopic level which is applied in the form of images. The research subjects were 928 students of class XI MIPA Senior High School in Palangka Raya City for the 2017/2018 Academic Year. Students' difficulties were investigated using a test instrument for understanding the factors that affect chemical equilibrium and the application of the principle of equilibrium reactions in industry. The instrument used is a multiple choice written test with five answer choices and five closed reasons and interviews. The results showed that students had difficulty understanding the concept of factors that affect chemical equilibrium at the microscopic level which were applied in the form of pictures and identified the causes of student difficulties, namely: (1) Explaining the effect of changes in concentration on shifts in chemical equilibrium by 62.82%, students consider the addition of the concentration of similar ions into the solution causes the ions to increase; (2) Explaining the effect of temperature changes by 55.28%, students assume that if the temperature is lowered the reaction shifts to endothermic reactions and vice versa (students do not understand the characteristics of exothermic/endothermic reactions and their relationship to temperature changes); (3) Explaining the change in volume of 61.96%, students assume that if the volume is reduced the equilibrium reaction shifts towards the component of the large reaction coefficient and vice versa; (4) Explaining the effect of changes in pressure by 53.56%, students assume that if the pressure is increased the reaction shifts to a large component of the reaction coefficient and vice versa; (5) Explaining the principle of an equilibrium reaction in an industry of 66.06%, students assume that by adding pressure to an exothermic reaction, the reaction shifts towards the reactants.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan miskonsepsi peserta didik pada konsep partikel materi dengan menggunakan instrumen tes diagnostik berbentuk pilihan ganda two-tier. Penelitian ini melibatkan 300 peserta didik kelas IX dari MTsN 1 dan MTsN 2 Kota Palangka Raya. Instrument pada penelitian ini merupakan test diagnostic two-tier multiple choice (pilihan ganda beralasan) yang diberi nama TDPM (tes diagnostic partikel materi). Konsep yang diidentifikasi merupakan konsep partikel materi dengan 5 subkonsep yaitu atom, partikel penyusun materi, teori atom, konfigurasi elektron, dan ion. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa miskonsepsi peserta didik MTsN 1 pada konsep partikel materi sebesar 57,51%. Dengan 41,23% miskonsepsi pada konsep atom, 53,34% miskonsepsi pada konsep partikel penyusun atom, 36,65% miskonsepsi pada konsep teori atom, 92,05% miskonsepsi pada konsep konfigurasi elektron, 64,3% miskonsepsi pada konsep ion. Miskonsepsi pada MTsN 2 sebesar 60,3%. Dengan 41,17% miskonsepsi pada konsep atom, 59,42% miskonsepsi pada konsep partikel penyusun atom, 38,49% miskonsepsi pada konsep teori atom, 91,6% miskonsepsi pada konsep konfigurasi elektron, 66,6% miskonsepsi pada konsep ion.

Abstract

Integrating laboratory activities with learning activities is a separate dynamic for science teachers, because learning science (Chemistry, Physics, and Biology) will be "bland" because students do not get valuable practical experience. Argument-Driven Inquiry (ADI) is a learning model in which teachers can change conventional laboratory learning into integrated laboratory learning. This learning combines laboratory activities with other learning activities such as reading, lectures, and discussions. The purpose of this service is to introduce and train teachers in designing ADI-based learning. The Service Method is carried out in three stages, namely: 1) Preparatory Stage; 2) Implementation Stage; and 3) Evaluation Stage. The results achieved after participating in this workshop were being able to design learning based on the ADI Model. In addition, this activity received a positive response (78%) towards the development of science learning activities at the senior high school level

Abstract

Utilization of coastal land in the community of Cemara Labat Village has been passed down from generation to generation. The people of Cemara Labat Village still maintain the tradition of coastal land management, such as planting certain types of mangroves, prohibiting cutting down mangrove forests and hunting animals which are regulated in unwritten customary law or local wisdom. Utilization of coastal area resources by humans from time to time continues to increase. The intensity of exploiting the potential of coastal areas resources often does not pay attention to the carrying capacity and principles of optimal and sustainable use of natural resources. Therefore, the mangrove forest ecosystem in Cemara Labat Village needs to be preserved both ecologically and biologically with an awareness approach to local wisdom. The data collection which used in this research was interview method, observation method, and survey. The results showed that Avicennia marina species had a very high dominance (80%) in the mangrove forest area of Cemara Labat Village, especially in the mangrove forest area, was bird species (Aves), while the level of community participation in mangrove forest conservation was moderate (76%). The strategy of developing community local wisdom on coastal land conservation in Cemara Labat village is in the Strengths-Opportunities or SO strategy, which is quadrant I which means Growth (6.40) or experiencing growth

Abstract

The goal of this research is to describe the quality of the End of Semester Assessment (PAS) questions for chemistry subjects in class X odd semester of SMK throughout the city of Palangka Raya for the 2020/2021 Academic Year. This research included descriptive research, with researchon questions and student answer sheets at odd end-of-semester assessments. The data collection technique of this study is the documentation method. Data analysis techniques use the help of the SPSS version 26 program. The results showed that the results of the logical review analysis obtained a good level of conformity of questions with basic competencies with a percentage of 21.90%. The suitability of the questions reviewed from the material aspect with a percentage of 93.88%, from the construction aspect the percentage of conformity of the questions was 90.81%, from the aspect of language the suitability of the questions obtained a percentage of 100%. The quality of the PAS question qualitatively (empirical review) shows that: the results of the analysis of the validity of the items about the P-Value Index 0.34 criteria are sufficient (20%-60%), the results of the analysis of the average reliability of the questions are the Cron'bach alpha r11 value< 0.70, namely at a value of 0.494 with sufficient criteria, the results of the analysis of the differentiating power of the questions are accepted (19%), the questions are rejected (26%), the questions are corrected (35%), and the questions are good (20%). Meanwhile, the results of the analysis of the difficulty level of questions with easy criteria (15.83%), questions with medium criteria (40.08%), and questions with difficult criteria (42.92%) and the results of the analysis of extractivity of the distractor (deceiving) quality of the category questions were very good with an average percentage of 81.38%.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' conceptual understanding of inheritance by using worksheets. This type of research is descriptive. It was carried out in the second semester of Academic Year 2022/2023. The subjects were the students of Grade IX at SMPN 2 Selat in Academic Year 2022/2023. The research was conducted with five (5) learning stages they were Pre-LKS, LKS, Post-LKS, Discussion, and Post-Discussion. Research data were obtained by using tests given to students at the Pre-LKS, Post-LKS and Post-Discussion stages. The results of the study show the changes in students' understanding of concepts as follows: : (1) Indicator 1 explains the role of genetic material in determining traits, the average number of students who answered correctly was 46.38% at the pre-worksheet stage, 81.16% at the post-worksheet stage, increased to 82.61% in the post-discussion stage. (2) Indicator 2 determines the results of monohybrid crosses through diagrams according to the laws of inheritance, the average number of students answering correctly was 33.04% in the pre-worksheet stage, 37.39% in the post-worksheet stage, increasing to 60.00% in the post-worksheet stage discussion. (3) Indicator 3 makes a cross chart according to the data that has been presented, the average number of students who answered correctly was 45.65% in the pre-LKS stage, 56.52% in the post-LKS stage, increasing to 70.72% in the post-LKS stage discussion. The data of this study indicate that the use of media assisted worksheets can improve students' conceptual understanding of inheritance.
