Abstract

Abstract A split air conditioner-type cooling system is widely used to provide thermal comfort in commercial and residential buildings. The performance of a Split Air Conditioner is essential to maintain the quality of the room temperature, so regular maintenance is needed. The use of split air conditioners for residential houses is very much, but most people have not mastered how to maintain them independently. The purpose of the training carried out in the context of community service is to provide community skills in the basic maintenance of split air conditioning cooling systems for residential homes. The training was conducted in the village area of Pantai Mekar, Muara Gembong District, Bekasi Regency, West Java Province. The training method is carried out face-to-face, which begins with the delivery of material about the AC system and then continues the basic practice of split AC maintenance. The training evaluation results show that this training has provided a knowledge base of air conditioning system maintenance to the community and provided motivation for the community to carry out treatment independently. The evaluation results also show that people's skills in carrying out air conditioning maintenance have improved, so advanced training is very important to carry out again. Abstrak Penggunaan sistem pendingin tipe AC split banyak digunakan untuk memberikan kenyamanan thermal baik pada bangunan komersial maupun rumah tinggal. Kinerja sebuah AC Split sangat penting untuk menjaga kualitas suhu ruangan, sehingga perawatan rutin sangat dibutuhkan. Saat ini penggunaan AC split untuk rumah tinggal sangat banyak, namun sebagian besar masyarakat belum menguasai cara perawatannnya secara mandiri. Tujuan pelatihan yang dilaksanakan dalam rangka pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan ketrampilan masyarakat dalam melakukan perawatan dasar sistem pendingin AC split untuk rumah tinggal. Pelatihan dilaksanakan di wilayah desa Pantai Mekar, Kecamatan Muara Gembong Kabupaten Bekasi, Provinsi Jawa Barat. Metode pelatihan dilaksanakan secara tatap muka yang diawali dengan penyampaian materi tentang sistem AC dan kemudian dilanjutkan praktek dasar perawatan AC split. Hasil evaluasi pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan ini telah memberikan dasar pengetahuan perawatan sistem AC kepada masyarakat dan memberikan motivasi masyarakat untuk dapat melaksanakan perawatan secara mandiri. Hasil evaluasi juga menunjukkan bahwa ketrampilan masyarakat dalam melakukan perawatan AC telah meningkat, sehingga pelatihan-pelatihan lanjutan sangat penting untuk laksanakan kembali.

Abstract

Manipulator robots practically help human to move objects vertically, horizontally, or rotationally. The robot is generally divided into three components, namely arm, base, and gripper with servo motor drive. The aim of this study is to improve the previous gripper robot manipulator design so that it can move 2 DOF (Degree of Freedom) by adding 1 DOF located on the robot gripper, which in previous studies, the robot manipulator gripper was only able to move 1 DOF. In addition, after calculating using Von Mises theory, then design 2D components and this assembly using AutoCAD software. Next design 3D components and assembly using Autodesk Inventor application based on FEM (Finite Element Method). Will also make a tool in the form of a robot gripper which will later be tested for feasibility. Based on the calculating result, the minimum thickness of the most significant link is 5.1 mm. To make it easier to find plates and save costs, the thickness of all plates in each link is rounded up to 6 mm. From the result of the movement simulation, it is found that the gripper can move open, clamp and rotate, and from the FEM software result the Safety factor value = 3.58 >3.0. Meanwhile, based on the result of the feasibility test, the gripper robot manipulator is feasible.

Abstract

Reactor core melting in a semi-spherical geometry has released heat during severe accidents in nuclear reactors, where the heat-dissipating characteristics need to be studied. So, the study aims to determine the temperature distribution phenomenon and the heat loss rate in stainless steel 316 semi-spherical. This study used a semi-spherical plenum to simulate nuclear reactor debris by experimental methods. Experiments were carried out using four temperature variations from 50oC, 100oC, 150oC, and 200oC. The measuring instrument used is a K-type thermocouple that has been installed at 14 predetermined points. Data taken are the process of increasing and decreasing the temperature in the semi-spherical plenum and the value of the heat loss rate. Based on the experimental results, it was found that the characteristics of the increase and decrease in temperature during the heating and cooling processes at each thermocouple point tended to be the same. Heat loss values that were obtained at temperatures of 50oC, 100oC, 150oC, and 200oC were 354.235 watts, 670.714 watts, 1442.303 watts, and 2064.727 watts. The value of the heat loss will increase in proportion to the size of the setting temperature. The heat loss rate value for all experiments exceeds 50%.

Abstract

Bahan Bakar Nuklir Bekas (BBNB) yang dihasilkan oleh Reaktor G.A. Siwabessy di Serpong merupakan limbah radioaktif yang berbahaya. Sesuai International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) – Safety Standards, BBNB harus disimpan sedemikian rupa sehingga tidak membahayakan manusia serta lingkungan. Metode penyimpanan BBNB yang banyak digunakan adalah dengan disimpan pada kolam penyimpanan yang berfungsi memproteksi radiasi yang ditimbulkan oleh BBNB serta untuk mendinginkan panas peluruhan (decay heat) yang dipancarkan oleh BBNB. Salah satu komponen utama di IPSB3 adalah sistem pendingin menggunakan chiller yang diperlukan untuk mendinginkan air kolam BBNB dan mendinginkan ruangan Instalasi Penyimpanan Sementara Bahan Bakar Nuklir Bekas (IPSB3). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan nilai decision variables (beberapa variabel yang mempengaruhi kondisi optimum yang diinginkan) pada chiller di IPSB3 sehingga diperoleh safety dan cost yang optimum. Metode yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini dengan melakukan pengambilan data berupa pengukuran pada panel chiller menggunakan alat PQA HIOKI 3197; menggambar desain gedung IPSB3 menggunakan program drawing 3D Google SketchUp untuk input data perhitungan cooling load menggunakan Energy plus software dan melakukan perhitungan optimasi dengan software matlab. Hasil yang diperoleh dari analisis konsumsi daya kompresor setelah optimasi sebesar 34,84 kW. Hasil akhir optimasi didapatkan nilai tengah dimana untuk safety sebesar 618,82 Bq/m3 dan cost sebesar Rp.872.197.000. Dari hasil optimasi multi-objective dengan genetic algorithm yang dilakukan di penelitian ini didapatkan hasil yang memenuhi kriteria fungsi safety namun dengan cost yang lebih rendah.
