Abstract

Stunted growth in the early years of life can have dire consequences for a child's health. This community service aims to increase parents' and early childhood educators' understanding of early childhood parenting, characteristics that exist in child development, early detection of child development and complementary care that supports child growth and development. The implementation of this community service program uses the parenting education method and examines the growth of toddlers by applying several techniques, namely lectures, display studies, discussions, and examinations. The evaluation results showed that knowledge related to holistic parenting before education was 58.33% for the good category and increased to 100% after education. This shows an increase in participants' understanding of holistic parenting and complementary care.

Abstract

The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia, particularly in Gunung Kidul district, remains high at 23.5% in 2022. The Kosabangsa approach, integrated into the Village Development Plan (RPJM Desa) for 2020-2026, serves as a primary strategy for community empowerment, especially in agriculture and livestock. The methods employed include socialization, training, and mentoring, with a focus on functional food processing and home-based food processing. The results of this activity indicate an increase in the knowledge of PKK groups regarding infant and young child feeding practices and nutritional aspects, as well as a strengthening of their capacity to market local food products. This community service concludes that the integration of technology and a holistic approach to food security plays a crucial role in addressing stunting. Consequently, this community service not only focuses on short-term solutions to stunting but also aims to create a sustainable impact through community empowerment and overall food security enhancement.

Abstract

Chronic malnutrition leading to stunting remains a significant challenge in Indonesia. Supplemental feeding (PMT) based on cow's milk and moringa leaves holds potential to address this issue. This community service aimed to enhance community knowledge and skills in producing PMT from cow's milk and moringa leaves, which are rich in nutrients. The implementation methods included preparation, community socialization, theoretical and practical training, and follow-up monitoring and evaluation. The results of the community service showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge and skills regarding nutrition and PMT production. Participants were able to produce various PMT products such as yogurt, biscuits, sempol, and nuggets, and demonstrated creative ideas in developing new product variations.

Abstract

Background: Pregnant women with Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) need a balanced nutritional intake to support fetal development and maternal health. However, limited access and choice of nutritious food is a challenge that needs to be overcome. Objective: This research aims to develop a snack bar product from Chicken Flour, Sorghum Flour, and Moringa Leaves as additional food for pregnant women with CED.Method: The research design was used experimentally with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The experimental unit in this research is the snack bar product. The study was carried out in three stages: making moringa flour, chicken flour, and sorghum flour. Second: determining the formula. Third, organoleptic tests and the acceptability of the selected formula are carried out. Respondents with trained panelists totaled 30 panelists. The statistical test used is the Kruskal-Wallis test. Results: The most frequent organoleptic test results are brown and attractive in L2 19 respondents (56.7), the most common taste is naturally sweet and savory and liked by L2 17 respondents (56.7), the most common aroma is balanced and not too strong, typical of herbal L2 18 respondents (60.0), and the most common texture was slightly tricky, crunchy solid L3 12 respondents (40.0). Meanwhile, the highest level of acceptance of color in the like category was L1 20 respondents (66.7), taste in the like category was L2 20 respondents (66.7), the aroma in the like category was L3 20 respondents (66.7), and the average texture in the like category was L1 15 respondents (50.0), L2 15 respondents (50.0) and L3 15 respondents (50.0). The results of the Kruskal Wallis test showed that the different ratios of chicken flour, sorghum flour and moringa leaves had a significant effect on the organoleptic test of color, taste, aroma (p<0.05).Conclusion: The best snack bar product development, formula L2, showed the best results in terms of taste, aroma, texture, and appearance.

Abstract

Background. Improving fetal intelligence starts with stimulation made by his mother; maternal soul tranquility highly affects the stimulation a mother will make to her fetus. Maternal soul tranquility will make the mother stimulate her baby happily, thereby improving fetal intelligence. For pregnant women to be able to stimulate the fetus well, they should be healthy physically, mentally, spiritually, and socially. Objective. This research aims to find out the effect of St Belt on maternal and fetal spiritual well-being. Method. This research used a quasi-experimental method. The design used was a non-equivalent pre-test and post-test control-group design. The population of the research was all pregnant women with 24-38 week gestation having their pregnancy examined routinely in PMB Kuswatiningsih. The sampling technique used in this research was nonprobability sampling with purposive sampling. The main instruments used were Spiritual Well-Being and CTG. Data analysis was conducted using paired and independent t-tests. Result. There is no difference in breath movement, DJJ, and amniotic fluid volume between before and after intervention in the experimental group. There are 8 (eight) pregnant women with a score of 10, 1 (one) with a score of 8, and 1 (one) with a score of 6. In the control group, there is a difference in scores; in the prior examinations, 6 (six) pregnant women scored 10, but in the last examination, 7 pregnant women scored 10. There is a significant difference of anxiety levels after intervention in the respondents in the experimental group with a p-value = 0.002 (p less than 0.50). There is a significant difference in the spiritual level before intervention in the respondents of the experimental group with a p-value = 0.002 (p less than 0.50).
