Abstract

As far as the writer observed, the students experienced an identity crisis and weak self-control eventually caused the students to often fall into negative things. Such as promiscuity, drinking, brawls, pornography, free sex, and so on. Such a crisis is expected by the Church to be overcome by pastoral schools. Pastoral schools aim to develop, improve and foster students' faith lives. But in reality, there are still many schools, both public and private, that have not implemented school pastoral well. This study aims to determine the implementation of pastoral schools in the Catholic and State Junior High Schools of Malang City and its impact on the development of students' faith and morals. Is the better the pastoral implementation of the school, the better the faith and moral development of students? Through the quantitative method with the Independent T-Test formula combined with the qualitative method, we conducted research in two Catholic Junior High Schools and two State Junior High Schools with a sample of 48 students. The results showed that the implementation of pastoral care at the Catholic Junior High School in Malang City was better than at the State Junior High School. But the implementation of a good school pastoral is not directly proportional to the students' faith and moral development. Good pastoral practice does not necessarily guarantee the faith and moral development of students. It is proven between Marsudisiwi Catholic Middle School and Sta. Maria was not significantly different where the content obtained was 0.915 with a significance of 0.368. While SMP Catholic Middle School Sta. Maria with SMP Negeri 5 and SMP Negeri 3 was significantly different where the count obtained was 4,940 with a significance of 0.000. Meanwhile, the results of the interviews showed that the faith and moral development of students in Catholic Junior High Schools was not better than that of State Junior High School students.

Abstract

School pastoral is an activity that aims to develop, improve and foster the faithful life of Catholics in the school environment. So through the school pastoral, it is hoped that the Christian community in the school environment will really be realized. Christian community is a fellowship whose members believe in Jesus Christ and are able to realize the teachings of Jesus Christ in their lives. Writing this scientific article aims to answer several main questions related to the relationship between pastoral schools, Christian communities and Catholic schools, these questions include: What is the essence of school pastoralism in building Christian communities in Catholic schools? Is the pastoral essence of the school in line with the idea of ​​administering a Catholic school in accordance with the vision and mission of the Church? How is the division of tasks and responsibilities so that the pastoral school can run well? Based on the analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that school pastoral is an essential program that is really effective in efforts to build a Christian community in Catholic schools. In addition, looking at the pastoral goals of schools and the goals of Catholic schools, it can also be concluded that the pastoral essence of schools is also in line with the idea of ​​organizing Catholic schools in accordance with the vision and mission of the Church. In realizing a good and effective school pastoral, there needs to be cooperation between the school, parents of students and the Church. This concerns promotive tasks, facilitative tasks, and executive tasks.

Abstract

The integration of technology in Catholic religious education creates new opportunities as well as challenges that need to be overcome. This research aims to develop a Catholic religious education model that integrates digital technology effectively without sacrificing the traditional values taught. Through a literature study approach, this research analyzed various digital tools and platforms that could be used in Catholic religious education, while identifying challenges and opportunities in adopting this technology. The research results showed that technology had potential to enrich students' learning experiences and support spiritual development, while enabling more interactive and flexible learning. However, it was important to ensure that technology integration did not reduce the focus on the moral and spiritual formation of students. This transformation also reflected the church's adaptation to the digital era, ensuring the relevance of religious teachings in modern times, and has the potential to increase the involvement of the younger generation in church life. Thus, this change was predicted to have a positive impact on students' learning experiences and their involvement in church life.

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk membekali Orang Muda Katolik (OMK) dengan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam mendukung toleransi, inklusivitas, dan dialog antarumat beragama. Metode sosialisasi digunakan untuk penyampaian nilai-nilai moderasi secara langsung dan interaktif. Pendekatan ini memfasilitasi diskusi dan interaksi antaranggota komunitas, sehingga pesan moderasi dapat diinternalisasi dengan lebih efektif, mendorong perubahan sikap dan perilaku yang mendukung toleransi dan inklusivitas. Hasil temuan menegaskan bahwa pandangan Gereja Katolik tentang moderasi beragama tercermin dalam ajaran Kitab Suci dan dokumen Gereja, yang menekankan cinta, saling menghormati, dan dialog antar agama untuk mencapai perdamaian. OMK memiliki potensi besar sebagai agen perubahan sosial dalam mewujudkan moderasi beragama dengan mempromosikan inklusivitas dan memperkuat hubungan lintas budaya. Melalui kerjasama lintas agama, lembaga pendidikan, dan NGO, mereka dapat menyebarkan nilai-nilai moderasi dan toleransi secara efektif. Simpulan dalam kegiatan ini terdapat dalam rancangan program moderasi beragama bagi OMK yang mencakup dialog antaragama, pelatihan moderasi, kegiatan sosial lintas agama, dan seminar untuk mempromosikan toleransi serta kerjasama. Selain itu, program pendidikan bagi anak dan remaja serta forum diskusi online juga disiapkan untuk memperluas pemahaman tentang moderasi beragama di kalangan umat.

Abstract

The background to this research highlights the important role of Catholic Religious Education in shaping the character and morals of the younger generation. However, Catholic Religious Education teachers are faced with big challenges in developing their competencies, both in terms of teaching ability and understanding of religion. Lack of development in these two aspects can hamper the effectiveness of the religious learning process in schools. Therefore, this research aims to identify and develop the pedagogical and religious competencies of Catholic Religious Education teachers, as well as formulate effective strategies and methods to improve the quality of Catholic religious teaching. The research method used is literature study, which aims to provide a strong theoretical foundation and practical solutions for improving the quality of Catholic religious education. In the conclusion, the importance of developing teacher competencies is highlighted, with strategies that include the development of sustainable training programs and teaching methods that involve a holistic approach to the development of both competencies simultaneously. Evaluation of competency development programs is also considered important to measure their impact in improving the quality of Catholic religious teaching.

Abstract

This research discusses Catholic religious education strategies for Generation Z in bringing spiritual meaning to the digital world. Generation Z, characterized by traits such as high-tech skills and distinct learning preferences, faces unique challenges in religious education. The development of digital technology plays a huge role in Generation Z's daily lives, with social media and digital platforms being a major influence. However, there are positive and negative impacts on spirituality and Catholic religious education. The integration of digital technology with Catholic religious education is important. This research explores digital and e-learning theories as well as successful technology integration models in the context of Catholic religious education. Effective pedagogical approaches, interactive strategies, and innovative methods are needed to teach spiritual values ​​through technology. Spiritual meaning in the digital era is the main focus. This research defines spiritual meaningfulness, highlights ways to achieve and maintain it in the digital world, and describes the role of Catholic religious education in this process. This research links religious education theory, the characteristics of Generation Z, and the development of digital technology to formulate effective educational strategies. By understanding the characteristics of Generation Z and the impact of digital technology, Catholic religious education approaches can be adapted to create meaningful learning experiences. Technology integration can be used to strengthen spiritual values ​​and support character formation. In this digital era, Catholic religious education has a vital role in helping Generation Z find and maintain spiritual meaning in their lives.

Abstract

Pendampingan pastoral ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman iman dan kehidupan rohani lansia melalui katekese, membantu mereka menemukan penghiburan dan makna hidup dalam ajaran Gereja, serta menyediakan ruang refleksi dan komunitas dengan mengadakan pertemuan rutin katekese, doa bersama, dan diskusi iman berbasis pengalaman hidup lansia. Metode yang digunakan dalam rancangan kegiatan ini adalah katekese dengan pendekatan reflektif dan dialogis, karena sesuai dengan kebutuhan lansia untuk memperdalam iman, berbagi pengalaman, dan mendapatkan penghiburan rohani. Kegiatan pendampingan pastoral melalui katekese bagi lansia berjalan dengan baik, ditandai dengan partisipasi aktif dan semangat mereka dalam mengikuti setiap sesi serta berbagi pengalaman hidup. Dukungan dari pastor paroki turut memperkuat perkembangan iman para lansia, yang terlihat dari meningkatnya pemahaman mereka tentang kasih Tuhan, kesadaran akan peran dalam pewartaan iman, serta sikap syukur dan penerimaan terhadap berbagai tantangan usia. Sebagai tindak lanjut, lansia didorong untuk tetap aktif dalam doa komunitas, berbagi refleksi iman dalam pertemuan bulanan, serta melibatkan generasi muda dalam mendengarkan kesaksian hidup mereka sebagai pewartaan iman. Untuk mendukung hal ini, Gereja Katolik diharapkan mengembangkan program pendampingan rohani lansia, pelayanan pastoral kunjungan rumah, pelibatan lansia dalam liturgi, serta pembentukan komunitas lansia Katolik agar mereka semakin terlibat dan mendapat dukungan dalam kehidupan iman. Kegiatan ini juga memperlihatkan adanya peningkatan rasa percaya diri lansia dalam mengungkapkan iman secara lisan di hadapan komunitas. Selain itu, tercipta relasi yang lebih hangat dan saling mendukung di antara para lansia, yang menumbuhkan semangat kebersamaan dalam menjalani kehidupan rohani di usia lanjut.

Abstract

Pastoral accompaniment in the Catholic Church plays a crucial role in shaping the faith of the faithful continuously, yet its implementation still faces various challenges. While many studies discuss the role of catechists in evangelization and catechesis, research on concrete strategies for effective pastoral accompaniment remains limited. This article aims to analyze the role of catechists in supporting evangelization and faith formation, as well as identify effective pastoral accompaniment strategies by integrating teachings from the Holy Scripture and Church documents. The method used in this research is literature review, examining various written sources including the Holy Scripture, Church documents, and previous studies relevant to the topic of pastoral accompaniment. The theoretical framework includes pastoral principles found in the Holy Scripture and key teachings from Church documents such as Evangelii Nuntiandi and Catechesi Tradendae. The data analysis technique used is thematic analysis, which involves tracing and grouping the main themes from various literature sources to understand the relationships between concepts. The findings show that community-based pastoral accompaniment and the use of digital technology can enhance the effectiveness of pastoral programs. Challenges include limited resources and resistance to change, but there are significant opportunities for program development through social and ecological synergy. In conclusion, the role of catechists is vital in realizing evangelization and continuous faith formation, with innovative and adaptive approaches to the evolving times. Effective pastoral accompaniment can help build a strong and relevant Church for the future.

Abstract

Generation Z faces a number of challenges related to their Catholic faith amidst the dynamics of modernity and technological developments. The problem faced is the lack of active involvement in traditional religious practices. Generation Z is also faced with the challenge of understanding and identifying with their own Catholic beliefs. In the midst of advances in information and cultural plurality, generation Z is often exposed to various views and values ​​that conflict with the teachings of the Catholic religion. The aim of this research is to provide a descriptive analysis regarding the contextual implementation of Catholic religious education in the era of various challenges faced by generation Z. The implementation of Catholic Religious Education in the era of generation Z needs to be adapted to the unique dynamics and characteristics of generation Z. The relevant approach that can be applied is integrating technology and digital media into learning. A collaborative and participatory learning approach will be more effective in reaching generation Z. Teachers can encourage open discussion and reflection on Catholic religious concepts, as well as encourage students to share their own views and experiences. Catholic religious educators need to emphasize the relevance and applicability of Catholic religious teachings in everyday life.

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini berfokus pada pentingnya integrasi katekese, pastoral, dan tindakan sosial dalam membentuk umat Katolik yang bertanggung jawab sosial dan berlandaskan iman. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana ketiga elemen tersebut dapat bekerja bersama dalam mengubah kehidupan umat, baik secara spiritual maupun sosial. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur yang mengkaji berbagai teori dan praktik terkait katekese, pastoral, dan aksi sosial dalam konteks Gereja Katolik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi katekese, pastoral, dan tindakan sosial memiliki dampak positif dalam membentuk karakter iman umat Katolik. Ketiga elemen ini saling mendukung dalam memperdalam pemahaman agama dan mendorong partisipasi umat dalam kegiatan sosial. Kolaborasi yang baik antara ketiganya mampu menciptakan perubahan positif dalam kehidupan spiritual dan sosial umat. Simpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi katekese, pastoral, dan tindakan sosial merupakan kunci dalam pembentukan karakter iman umat Katolik. Implementasi yang efektif dari ketiga elemen ini dapat meningkatkan kedalaman spiritual dan keterlibatan umat dalam kegiatan sosial.
