Abstract

Recognizing the demands of adapting to technology in the digital era, this Community Service Program (PKM) targets teachers at SMA Negeri 2 Nekamese who still face challenges in utilizing innovative applications to improve administrative efficiency and learning quality. Improving teachers' digital competency is necessary to create relevant and engaging learning experiences. Solutions are provided through workshops and hands-on mentoring focused on utilizing the Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based application, Diffit. Teachers are intensively trained to master Diffit's various features, ensuring the intelligent integration of technology as a pedagogical tool. This activity has significantly improved teacher competency. Teachers are now proficient in using Diffit to transform complex material into various differentiated learning formats (such as summaries and adaptive questions). This drastically reduced the administrative burden and encouraged the implementation of personalized learning (deep learning) in the classroom. This success serves as a model for good practice in empowering teachers through AI. This PkM also strengthens Undana's Tri Dharma by providing a basis for empirical validation for lecturers and real-world experience (experiential learning) that strengthens students' Edutech profiles. This PkM successfully transformed teachers' teaching practices, so it is recommended that schools institutionalize the use of Diffit, and Undana publish this training model for sustainability.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve students' speaking skills in news text learning through the implementation of the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) learning model. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles involving Grade VIII students of SMP Negeri Satu Atap Kujiratu. Data were collected through observation, performance assessment, and learning outcome tests. The findings indicated that the application of the TSTS model contributed positively to students’ speaking skills and learning outcomes. In Cycle I, 16 students achieved mastery learning, while 13 students did not, with a class average score of 43.15. In Cycle II, learning outcomes improved, with 18 students achieving mastery learning and 11 students not yet meeting the minimum criteria, resulting in an average score of 73.11. The improvement was supported by increased student participation, confidence in expressing ideas, and collaborative interaction during group discussions. The study concludes that the Two Stay Two Stray learning model is effective in enhancing students’ speaking skills in news text learning and can serve as an alternative cooperative learning strategy in Indonesian language instruction.

Abstract

Adonara folktales are an oral literary heritage containing cultural, moral, and social values passed down from generation to generation. However, studies on figurative language in Adonara folktales remain limited because previous research has focused primarily on themes and moral values. This study aims to analyze the types of figurative language and the meanings contained in a collection of Adonara folktales through a stylistic approach. The study employed a qualitative descriptive method with a stylistic approach. The data sources were the book Kumpulan Cerita Rakyat Adonara and accounts provided by informants, while the research data consisted of words, phrases, and quotations containing figurative language. The data were collected through documentation and interviews, with informants selected using purposive sampling, and were subsequently analyzed descriptively based on stylistic theory. The results showed that three folktales, namely Asal Usul Lamawolo, Asal Mula Waikebo, and Kwewa Wu’u, contained repetition, personification, symbolism, enumeration, allonym, bombast, euphemism, and metaphor, which belonged to the categories of comparative, emphatic, and contradictory figurative language. The use of these forms of figurative language serves to enhance the aesthetic presentation of the stories, clarify meanings, create atmosphere, and convey the cultural values and moral messages of the Adonara community. These findings confirm that figurative language plays an important role in strengthening aesthetic value while representing the cultural identity and local wisdom of the Adonara community. This study contributes to the development of stylistic studies on regional literature and encourages greater appreciation and preservation of folktales as part of the nation’s cultural heritage.
