Abstract

Abstrak: Pembelajaran matematika hendaknya tidak cukup hanya mencakup pada penguasaan konsep matematika, tetapi juga penguasaan dalam mengaplikasikan konsep matematika dalam kehidupan nyata dan dunia kerja. Kemampuan matematika aplikatif, seperti kemampuan menyajikan data, menganalisis, menginterpretasikan data, serta mengkomunikasikan ide sangat perlu dikuasai oleh mahasiswa terutama dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis mahasiswa melalui model Problem Based Learning. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain pretest-posttest dengan sampel adalah mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas HKBP Nomensen-Pematangsiantar yang berjumlah 30 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang berjumlah empat butir soal untuk masing-masing test (pretest maupun posttest). Besarnya peningkatan yang terjadi dihitung dengan rumus gain ternormalisasi yang hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa pada matakuliah Kalkulus Diferensial sebesar 0,4493 yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang.Kata Kunci: kemampuan matematika, kemampuan pemecahan masalah, problem based learning.

Abstract

The independent learning curriculum has been implemented in various educational units in Indonesia. Facts on the ground state that not all stakeholders understand the free learning curriculum. Therefore, the service team of HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar University has carried out community service at SMP Negeri 1 Dolok Pardamean, Simalungun Regency, where this service aims to socialize the independent learning curriculum for teachers of SMP Negeri 1 Dolok Pardamean. This service received a good response and was appreciated by the Principal of SMP Negeri 1 Dolok Pardamean. The results obtained from this service were 76.7% of the participants stated that they were satisfied with this service. It is hoped that through this activity there will be cooperation between the university and the school to develop the quality of teachers for the creation of quality education.

Abstract

Participants in this multimode socialization activity were the teachers of SD Negeri No. 122372 Pematangsiantar, totaling 10 people. This socialization activity was carried out on Monday-Tuesday, 23-24 October 2018 starting at 09.00 WIB. This socialization activity aims to: (1) provide knowledge to teachers of SD Negeri No. 122372 Pematangsiantar nature and stages of implementation of multimodel in learning; (2) increase the creativity of SD Negeri No. 122372 Pematangsiantar in the learning process in the classroom. The method of implementing Community Service Activities is carried out in the form of socialization and direct practice in the classroom. This multimodel socialization activity has been carried out well according to the schedule of activities, starting from the initial, core and final activities. In general, teachers have been able to apply multimodel in learning according to the first phase to the fifth phase. This can be proven from 10 respondents 24.04% voted strongly agree that the use of multi-models in learning is very important and useful, while 75.96% said they agreed that the use of multi-models in learning is very important and useful.

Improving writing skills is as supporting factor for the success of learning carried out by each teacher. Writing ability comes from the habit of reading and analyzing problems in learning that is carried out every day. The culture of writing is still far from being a habit for teachers of SMP Negeri 3 Jorlang Hataran. Therefore, the University of HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar University team has carried out a community service at SMP Negeri 3 Jorlang Hataran, Jalan Besar Parapat, Nagori Bah Sampuran. district Jorlang Hataran, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra where this service aims to socialize methods of improving English literacy skills using the problem based learning method for teachers of SMP Negeri 3 Jorlang Hataran. This service has been received with good response and was appreciated by the Principal of SMP Negeri 3 Jorlang Hataran. The results obtained from this service were 76.7% of participants who stated that they were satisfied with this service. Abstract

Minimnya pengetahuan guru mengenai penulisan buku ajar merupakan permasalahan umum yang terjadi di sekolah karena guru pada umunya menggunakkan buku ajar yang diberikan oleh pemerintah. Olehkarana itu diperlukan sosialisasi penulisan buku ajar agar guru juga dapat menulis buku ajar yang dapat digunakan di sekolah. Tujuan dilaksanakannya pengabdian ini adalah agar guru- guru di SMP Negeri 3 Jorlang Hataran dapat memahami pentingnya penulisan buku ajar dan melalui pengabdian ini diharapakan guru- guru dapat menulis bbuku ajar yang baik. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian ini menggunakan metode penyuluhan dan metode angket. Hasil pengabdian berdasarkan angket yang diisi oleh peserta pengabdian menujukkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian ini memberikan dampak yang positif bagi peserta PKM. Berdasarkan hasil tingkat kepuasan peserta PKM maka diperoleh bahwa peserta kegiatan PKM 100 % menyatakan sangat setuju dengan kegiatan pengabdian ini. Keberhasilan pelaksanaan kegiatan ini juga ditunjukkan dalam bentuk kepuasan dari peserta yang hadir mengikuti kegiatan seminar dan pelatihan yang dilaksanakan dengan terlihat antusiasme peserta selama proses kegiatan berlangsung.
