Abstract

The Island of Bali is not only rich in natural conditions and landscapes but also has unique socio-cultural and architectural characteristics. This makes the island of Bali a tourism and research destination, especially the indigenous villages that are called Bali Aga. There are approximately twenty-five villages spread and lies on in the four areas of the Bangli Regency. These Bali Agavillages are unique for implementing the original Balinese traditions. Mostly the Bali Aga villages take place in the fringe ofmountains, hilly areas, and along the shores of Lake Batur. The observations on the architecture of the houses found that there arefew traditional buildings called sakaroras still extant. This cannot be separated from technological and communication developments that affect people's lives. The study aims to explore the existence of the indigenous villages in the Bangli Regency, mainly to document the architecture of traditional houses that still exist. Observations were carried out to obtain primary data regarding the architectural conditions of the sakaroras. Interviews were conducted with the village leader to get information aboutthe history, the village’s needs, and the sakaroras house condition. This study found that most sakaroras houses have been turned into a modern house style. This research implies that it is essential to document the existence of the sakaroras place, which tends to change as evidence of cultural heritage and the identity of traditional Balinese architecture. Public awareness to maintaincultural heritage needs to be encouraged through programs to foster the importance of preserving traditional houses.

Abstract

This study examines the resilience and adaptation of the production of space in Sanur Traditional Village, Denpasar, amidst the pressures of tourism development. As tourism has become a key economic sector in Bali, traditional villages like Sanur face significant challenges in maintaining their socio-cultural identity while adapting to rapid changes. Using Henri Lefebvre's theory of the production of space as a conceptual framework, this research explores how Sanur negotiates between preserving traditional spatial practices and accommodating tourism demands. The study employs a qualitative case study approach, utilizing interviews, observations, and document analysis to investigate the dynamics of the production of space in Sanur. The research questions focus on: 1) How tourism development has influenced the production of space in Sanur; 2) Challenges To Traditional Spatial Planning; and 3) What resilience and adaptation strategies have been employed. The novelty of this research lies in its multidimensional approach to understanding spatial resilience in the context of a traditional Balinese village, integrating concepts of the production of space, cultural resilience, and tourism development. Preliminary findings suggest a complex interplay between traditional spatial concepts (e.g., Tri Hita Karana philosophy) and modern tourism-driven spatial transformations. The village demonstrates resilience through innovative spatial practices that balance cultural preservation with economic opportunities. This research contributes to the broader understanding of spatial resilience in traditional communities facing modernization pressures and offers insights for sustainable tourism development policies.

Abstract

Abstract: One indicator of the success of sustainable development is the provision of clean water, especially spring conservation. One of the spring conservation activities in the provision of community-based clean water is the Pamsimas program. Sekartaji Village and Batumadeg Village in the Nusa Penida Islands have springs that can be used to meet the need for clean water. The purpose of this study is to identify conservation schemes for the use of springs, facilities and infrastructure accommodated in the use of springs, and community-based management of the use of springs for the provision of clean water in Sekartaji Village and Batumadeg Village, Nusa Penida District. The method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive method, namely explaining community activities in conserving springs, referring to relevant theories. The results of the research on the conservation scheme for the use of springs are by implementing Enrichment Planting around the springs. Utilization of this scheme is not all of the total spring discharge. Management of water use is carried out by administrators (KP-SPAMS) from each village under the auspices of BUMDes. The benefit of carrying out this research is to find out the importance of spring conservation for the provision of clean water in sustainable development. Where in these activities require the participation of the community in its use.Keyword: spring conservation, clean water supply, community participationAbstrak: Salah satu indikator keberhasilan pembangunan berkelanjutan adalah penyediaan air bersih, terutama konservasi mata air. Abstract

Abstract: Singaraja City, the capital of Buleleng Regency, plays a strategic role in the historical and spatial development of North Bali. However, the city is currently facing challenges related to accessibility and spatial connectivity, particularly in areas with aging road networks and suboptimal pedestrian infrastructure. These issues reflect a low level of urban permeability, defined as the degree to which urban spaces allow free movement and functional connectivity. This study aims to explore the perceptions of the Millennial Generation toward the level of permeability in Singaraja City, focusing specifically on the Udayana Street corridor, which functions as a hub for education and daily urban mobility. Using a qualitative approach that combines field observation, in-depth interviews, and mental mapping, the study investigates accessibility quality, mobility constraints, and spatial connectivity as experienced by young adults (born 1994–2000). The findings reveal that Millennials are highly aware of the physical conditions of urban spaces, such as the lack of continuous pedestrian paths, poor street lighting, and spatial disconnection across neighborhoods. Although Udayana Street holds a strategic urban function, it is not yet fully supportive of active mobility. This study contributes to the theoretical understanding of urban permeability in medium-sized cities and provides valuable input for urban planners and policymakers to develop inclusive, youth-responsive, and sustainable mobility strategies. Keywords: Urban Permeability, Milennial Generation, Singaraja City Abstrak: Kota Singaraja sebagai ibu kota Kabupaten Buleleng memiliki peran strategis dalam sejarah dan dinamika pembangunan wilayah Bali Utara.
