Abstract

Abstract : The most common indicator for detecting obesity is Body Mass Index (BMI). Besides BMI, the other indicator that is considered sensitive in detecting obesity is waist-to-hip ratio. How big the ability of this indicator in determining obesity truly need further testing. This study aims to test the sensitivity and specificity of waist-to-hip ratio in detecting obesity compared to BMI in women of childbearing age. This study is obsevational study with cross-sectional design. The sample was 100 women of childbearing age, 19-49 years old. The sensitivity and specificity tests were performed using Receiver Operator Characteristic (ROC) Curve. Cut-off to determine obesity is> 27 kg / m2 calculated with BMI and> 0.85 calculated with waist-hip-ratio. Sensitivity value of waist-to-hip ratio is 74% (good enough) and the specificity value is 51% (less good). Based on ROC curve, Area Under Curve of waist-to-hip is 0,65 (poor). Waist-to-hip ratio has a poor ability to detect obesity in women of childbearing age. It is recommended to use other indicators to detect obesity in women of childbearing age. Keywords : BMI, obesity, sensitivity, spesificity, waist-hip ratio Abstrak : Indikator yang sering digunakan dalam menentukan obesitas adalah Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT). Selain IMT, indikator lain yang dianggap sensitif dalam mendeteksi obesitas adalah rasio lingkar pinggang-panggung (RLPP). Seberapa besar kemampuan suatu indikator dalam menentukan yang benar-benar gemuk perlu dilakukan pengujian lebih lanjut.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji sensitifitas dan spesifisitas RLPP dalam mendeteksi obesitas dibandingkan dengan IMT pada wanita usia subur. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional dengan desain cross-sectional. Sampel penelitian adalah 100 orang wanita usia subur berusia 19-49 tahun. Uji sensitifitas dan spesifisitas dilakukan menggunakan Receiver Operator Characteristic (ROC) Curve.Cut-off untuk menentukan obesitas adalah >27 kg/m2 dengan perhitungan IMT dan >0,85 dengan perhitungan RLPP. RLPP mempunyai nilai sensitifitas 74% (cukup baik) dan spesifisitas 51% (kurang baik). Berdasarkan kurva ROC, Area Under Curve RLPP adalah 0,65 (jelek). RLPP memiliki kemampuan yang kurang baik dalam mendeteksi obesitas pada wanita usia subur. Disarankan untuk menggunakan indikator lain untuk mendeteksi obesitas pada wanita usia subur. Kata Kunci : IMT, obesitas, sensitifitas, spesifisitas, RLPP

Abstract

Introduction: Pregnancy is one of the more important periods in life when increased micronutrients, and macronutrients are most needed by the body; both for the health and well-being of the mother and for the growing foetus and newborn child. During the pandemic of Covid 19, necessity of micronutrients is urgently required to maintain health and immunity system. Objectives: This article aims to describe the necessity of some micronutrients: Vitamin A, vitamin B (B1, B6, B9, B12), vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, and vitamin K especially for pregnant women during pandemic: Vitamin A, vitamin B (B1, B6, B9, B12), vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, and vitamin K. Method: A review of the literature was undertaken using the online databases: BMC, Elsevier, Pubmed, NCBI, Science Direct and Google scholar. Search terms were: vitamin necessity OR vitamin needs OR vitamin required AND pregnant women OR pregnancy OR maternal women AND pandemic OR the pandemic Covid 19 OR during the pandemic Result: from literatures selected, it was found that generally vitamin necessity of pregnant women was higher than adult women. During the pandemic of covid 19, the necessity of vitamins is getting higher. Conclusion: Since pregnant women are vurnerable population during the pandemic covid, it is highly recommended to maintain their health and nutrition by increasing food intake as sources of vitamins.

Abstract

Introduction: Flavonoids are secondary metabolites with flavones core characteristics and C6-C8-C6 carbon branches. Flavonoids have various pharmacological activities, including anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antidiabetic, and antiviral activities through various cell signaling pathways. Rutin is a natural flavonoid derivative that has various health benefits. Many studies have been carried out, both in vitro and in vivo which prove the pharmacological benefits of rutin  Objectives: This article aims to describe the pharmacological benefits of rutin. Method: A review of the literature was undertaken using the online databases: BMC, Elsevier, Pubmed, NCBI, Science Direct, and Google scholar.  Result: from the literature selected, it was found that rutin has many pharmacological benefits. Conclusion: Beneficial Health Effects of Rutin include antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, neuroprotective, and Main Protease SARS-CoV-2.

Abstract

Stunting is a growth disorder in children as a result of chronic nutritional problems. This causes the child's height does not match his age. Various efforts have been made to reduce the prevalence of stunting. One of the innovations that can be done is the development of new food products by modifying meatballs derived from tuna with anchovy flour substitution (tori meatballs). This study aims to determine the effect of giving tori meatballs on total protein levels and body weight. The study was conducted for 14 days. The research sample consisted of 27 male wistar rats which were divided into 3 groups, namely K as the control group, P1 as the treatment group with 1 g/day of tori meatball, and P2 the treatment group with 2 g/day of tori meatball. Body weight was measured daily with a digital scale. Total protein assay using Kingsley Method with biuret reagent. The results showed that body weight and total protein content were not statistically different. The provision of tuna meatballs with anchovy flour substitution (tori meatballs) had no effect on body weight and total protein content of wistar white rats. Keywords: stunting; tori meatballs; protein total levels; wistar rats

Abstract

Masalah gizi stunting di Indonesia tergolong berat dengan prevalensi sebesar 30,8% sedangkan di Jawa Timur sebesar 32,81%. Diversifikasi pangan lokal yang melimpah dan bergizi tinggi seperti ikan tuna, keluwih, dan daun kelor, dapat menjadi solusi penanganan stunting. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat berwawasan lingkungan berbasis agro, eco-marine, dan zero waste penting dilakukan dengan mengolah daging ikan tongkol tuna menjadi produk abon dan kepalanya menjadi kerupuk ikan. Puger merupakan kecamatan penghasil ikan terbesar di Kabupaten Jember, namun prevalensi stunting juga tinggi. Terdapat kelompok pengolah dan pemasar (POKLAHSAR) ikan “Duta Tongkol” di Desa Kasiyan Kecamatan Puger yang memproduksi abon ikan tongkol, namun harganya relatif mahal dan hanya bisa dijangkau masyarakat menengah keatas. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan penambahan keluwih serta daun kelor untuk menekan biaya produksi dan meningkatkan nilai gizi. Metode yang digunakan pada pelaksanaan kegiatan ini seperti pendidikan kepada sasaran, transfer ipteks, pelatihan, dan advokasi. Presentase keluwih yang digunakan sebesar 20% mengacu pada penelitian sebelumnya. Hasil pre dan post-test sebesar 0,005 menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh kegiatan terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan sasaran. Setelah pelatihan, pemasaran produk tidak hanya dilakukan secara offline, namun juga online. Produk abon modifikasi yang telah mendapat P-IRT dengan kadar protein tinggi diharapkan dapat menanggulangi masalah stunting. Metode manajemen pembiayaan usaha dan pemasaran produk yang tepat telah tercapai, sehingga memberikan keterampilan baru dalam pembuatan produk abon modifikasi dan dampak up-dating Iptek kepada mitra.
