Abstract

This research uses qualitative methods with semiotic analysis from Roland Barhes. Semiotics is a method for analyzing signs to find meaning in social and cultural phenomena. The aim of this research is to find out what visual meaning is contained in the Ichsan Gorontalo University logo which is used as an agency identity in terms of denotation, connotation and myth. Corporate identity is a reflection of the vision and mission which are visualized through the logo. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, namely the data collected is in the form of words and images. With the right logo, the message regarding the company's desired identity can be represented effectively. Data collection techniques use documentation/library techniques and observation. The results of this research will explain the meaning of the Ichsan Gorontalo University logo which has signs/symbols and colors that will be differentiated based on Roland Barthes' approach.

Abstract

The Dulohupa traditional house is one of the traditional houses in Gorontalo which has an interesting and historical meaning that needs to be revealed to introduce it as one of the visual identities of Gorontalo so that it is known among tourists and the migrant community. On the basis of this knowledge, this research seeks to reveal the extent to which the visual image of the Dulohupa traditional house is one of the visual identities of the city of Gorontalo. Traditional houses have many meanings and symbols that need to be preserved. By knowing the meanings and ornaments, it is hoped that they can build a visual identity and attract tourists. The type of research used is a descriptive qualitative approach. The data collection method used is literature study. The results of identifying the characteristics of the Dulohupa traditional house show that the Dulohupa traditional house is an embodiment of local cultural values ​​and distinctive architectural art.

Abstract

Abstrak - Buku Katalog Universitas Ichsan Gorontalo dirancang sebagai alat promosi yang strategis untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan pemahaman calon mahasiswa dalam memilih jalur pendidikan yang sesuai dengan minat dan kemampuan mereka. Dengan tujuan utama mengurangi angka "Mahasiswa Salah Jurusan", proses perancangan katalog ini melibatkan serangkaian langkah sistematis, mulai dari pengumpulan dan analisis data, hingga pengembangan konsep dan desain final. Melalui pendekatan ini, diharapkan calon mahasiswa dapat membuat keputusan yang lebih bijak dan terinformasi mengenai masa depan akademis mereka. Katalog ini tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai panduan, tetapi juga sebagai sumber inspirasi yang mendorong calon mahasiswa untuk mengeksplorasi berbagai pilihan yang ditawarkan oleh Universitas Ichsan Gorontalo, sehingga mereka dapat meraih kesuksesan di bidang yang mereka pilih. Abstract

The need for a sign system at the Marisa traditional market will make it easier for visitors to get information. Designing a sign system in an attractive, effective, informative and communicative market area will be the right solution. The purpose of the design is to make it easier for visitors to recognize the shopping flow and layout of the Marisa Traditional Market. This study uses a design method with a qualitative approach as a technique in collecting data. The design method is intended to produce a product in the form of a Marisa Traditional Market sign system design. While the qualitative approach is used as a way to find and collect data from the field. The data were then identified and analyzed descriptively using 5 W + 1 H so that it gave birth to a sign system design concept for the Marisa traditional market. Next, the concept is visualized until it becomes the final design in the form of the Marisa Traditional Market sign system
