Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of Pop-up Book as a Bible story media based on the blibical story about creation for children faith formation. The development of media story based on the Pop-up Book Bible story was motivated by the need of a creative media to teach the Word of God for the Catholic children faith formation. This research applied the research and development method referring to the Borg and Gall’s model through ten steps, namely research and data collection, planning, product draft development, limited trial, product revision stage, extensive trial stage, operational product revision, operational trial, final product revision, dissemination, and implementation. Research data was collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires. The targets of the research were children at 7-12 years old belong to Mater Dei Parish, Madiun, and Saint Hilarius Parish, Klepu. The study showed that the results of assessment conducted by material experts, and media practitioners, as well as the positive responses of the children during the field trials on the Pop-up Book as a Bible story media based on the blibical story about creation for children faith formation was graded “Very Good”, and then can be applied in the Catholic children faith formation activities.

Abstract

This development research aims to: 1) determine the procedure for developing a teaching module using the KSME method on the material of 'Realizing Faith in the Middle of Society. 2) Determine the feasibility level of Catholic Religious Education teaching module products using the KSME method on the material of Realizing Faith in the Middle of Society. This development research was conducted using the Research and Development (R&D) research method with the ADDIE developer model. The development steps are grouped into five stages, namely: 1) analysis stage, 2) design stage, 3) development stage, 4) implementation stage, and 5) evaluation stage. Product trials were designed through initial trials and field trials. In the initial trial, the validity of the product was tested by material experts and media experts, as well as a limited trial by five students. Following the initial trial, a field trial was conducted involving 23 students. Data collection was carried out by observation, interview, and questionnaire using a Likert scale. The data analysis technique employed in this research is descriptive analysis. The results of this development research are in the form of a teaching module using the KSME method on the material of Realizing Faith in Society. Teaching modules using the KSME method are rated “very feasible” based on the results of the product validity test. Based on the student response questionnaire data in the limited trial, it falls into the “powerful” category. Meanwhile, based on the student response questionnaire data in the field trial, it is in the "Very Strong" category.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the efforts of Catholic schools, especially SMAK St. Thomas Aquino Mojokerto in carring out the process of strengthening the identity of Catholic schools, especially through school pastoral programs. Strengthening the identity of Catholic schools is a means of integrating the values of the Catholic faith. Integrating the values of the Catholic faith can be done through a school pastoral program implemented with the aim of helping students become familiar with the teachings of the Catholic faith and forming good character of the students. In this research the author uses a qualitative approach focusing with a case study method. Research data collection was carried out using observation, interview and documentation techniques. The research data analysis was carried out using a condensation approach.The results of research show that the school pastoral program is a means of strengthening the identity of Catholic schools at SMAK St.Thomas Aquino Mojokerto. Through this school's pastoral program, the Catholic values in the form of faith in God, social values of justice, morality, intellectual values and love have been taught to students at SMAK St. Thomas Aquino Mojokerto aims of strengthening the identity of this Catholic school.

Abstract

Student participation in the learning process can be influenced by learning media. Wordwall, as an interactive game-based learning, is considered capable of enhancing students' participation. This research aims to determine the influence of Wordwall media on the learning participation of grade V Catholic Religious Education students at Kristus Raja Catholic Elementary School, Surabaya. This study uses a pre-experimental method with a one-shot case study design. The population consists of grade V Catholic Religious Education students. The questionnaire's validity is tested using corrected item-total correlation, while reliability is measured with Cronbach Alpha. Data collection employs questionnaires and tests, analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon test using SPSS version 29. The results of the study indicate a positive influence of Wordwall media on students' learning participation. This is evident from the questionnaire scores, which increase from moderate to high levels, and a significance value of 0.002 smaller than 0.05, leading to the valid hypothesis. Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that using Wordwall media enhances the learning participation of grade V Catholic Religious Education students at Kristus Raja Catholic Elementary School, Surabaya.
